I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 487, Disproportionate

After simply brushing his teeth, Su Bai came to the table to prepare for breakfast. Last night, he had been drawing until very late.

“Shaman, would you like to take another nap this afternoon?” Yu Ying asked with concern.

Last night, Yu Ying had also accompanied him until very late, but eventually she could not stay awake any longer and fell asleep on the table.

As for why she woke up in the morning to see the ceiling of her own room, that was something she did not know.

“It’s fine, I have many things to attend to today.” Su Bai shook his head and said.

He had thought about many things before going to bed last night, so he had quite a lot to busy himself with today.

“Shaman, what will you be busy with today? Is there anything I can help with?” Yu Ying asked.

Yu Ying had been quite relaxed recently, as she no longer needed to sew linen clothes every day. The wardrobe now contained many garments.

Everyone had approximately seven or eight pieces they could change into, so for now she was resting. However, she was hardly the type of person who could remain idle, and immediately asked if there were other tasks to be done.

“It’s fine, I’ll call you when I need you,” Su Bai said softly.

Yu Ying nodded and did not say anything more, continuing to eat her breakfast.

After simply finishing his breakfast, Su Bai prepared for the day’s plan.

He stood up, clapped his hands, and asked, “Xiao Yu, how is the wool processing coming along?”

“All the wool has been collected, and the dirty parts have been removed. It’s all clean now,” Yu Ying immediately replied.

“Good, then sew it onto the outside of the Animal Hides. This will make them warmer,” Su Bai instructed.

“Sew it on the outside of the animal hides?” Yu Ying was stunned, hearing such a request for the first time.

Su Bai nodded and said, “Yes, wear the furry side of the animal hide on the inside, then sew a layer of wool on the side without fur. This way, when the snow season begins, it will be very warm.”

“So that’s it. How many should I make?” Yu Ying asked curiously.

“You should focus on making these for now, and make sure each of us has one. This way we can stay warm throughout the snow season,” Su Bai said calmly.

“Yes, Shaman, but how should I sew the wool on the outside of the animal hides?” Yu Ying asked curiously.

“You can do it like with the linen, first weave it into pieces of fabric, then sew them onto the outside of the Animal Hides. This way, you can also make clothes solely from wool fabric,” Su Bai paused, then continued, “But right now, we don’t have much wool, so focus on making ours first.”

“Yes, I understand,” Yu Ying nodded firmly.

Su Bai nodded with satisfaction as he watched Yu Ying’s departing figure, preparing to continue with his own tasks.

This morning, he had already used the Growth Acceleration Skill on the corn seeds, and then had Yu Ying take them to plant.

“The area needs to be larger, so it can accommodate more people,” Su Bai muttered to himself.

He was still planning the restaurant matter, but construction was certainly impossible at present. It would have to wait until after the snow season.

There were still a few days left before the arrival of the snow season, so it would be quite difficult to complete a restaurant building in that time.

Additionally, many of the cement houses in the Tribe were in the final stages of work, and the same was true for the main roads. Everyone was busy with various tasks.

*Step step step…* Sha Lan stepped up to the second floor of the cement house and softly asked, “Shaman, am I disturbing you?”

“Not at all, what’s the matter?” Su Bai turned his head and asked.

“The Tribe’s preparations for the snow season are almost ready. I came to ask if there’s anything else you need to prepare?” Sha Lan said.

Su Bai picked up his wooden cup and said, “Tell me, what has been prepared?”

“Our food reserves are now very abundant. We can safely get through the snow season, and we might even have some left over.”

Sha Lan recalled, and continued, “Some Animal Hides have also been distributed. Adding to what they had stored previously, everyone now has enough Animal Hides to get through the snow season.”

“Very good, what else?” Su Bai continued to ask.

“Also, the cement houses will be completely ready for inspection in three days. I wanted to ask the Shaman how to allocate them?” Sha Lan asked.

“Is the number of rooms proportional to the number of people in the Tribe?” Su Bai asked.

“Proportional? What does proportional mean?” Sha Lan was stunned.

“It means there are as many rooms as there are people, that’s called proportional. So, is it proportional?”

Sha Lan recalled the memories in her mind and shook her head, “In the Tribe, many are families of three or four people. Calculating this way, there would be over a thousand people who cannot move into cement houses.”

“About five hundred people? Then, let those who joined the Tribe later sleep in the wooden houses, and prioritise our Tribe’s original members for the cement houses.” Su Bai said.

There were now many people in the Tribe who came from other Tribes, and those people temporarily did not qualify for cement houses. It was already quite good to allocate wooden houses to them; not letting them suffer from the cold was decent enough.

“Good, Shaman, but what about food? Should those who came later also get the same amount of food?” Sha Lan asked.

“Distribute according to the difficulty of their labour. Those who do more get more, those who do less get less. Do not discriminate on this matter.” Su Bai said.

“I understand, Shaman. I will arrange for them to claim the cement houses immediately,” Sha Lan promptly replied.

“When the snow season arrives, will there be any changes in the Tribe?” Su Bai asked.

Sha Lan thought about the snow seasons of previous years and shook her head, “Apart from the snow, there’s nothing different.”

“Alright, you can go attend to your duties now,” Su Bai nodded.

“Yes,” Sha Lan turned and left.
