I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 464, The Purple haired girl with an Accent

Translator: Silavin

The moonlight grew increasingly bright, and the calls of beasts within the forest grew louder, but the beauty of the present scene completely failed to match the current atmosphere.

Su Bai and the others remained silent, their expressions exceedingly serious. At present, all that could be heard were the sounds of some wild beasts.

*Goop-goop, lee-lee…*

*Jii-jii, hoot-hoot…*

Ye Jiu’s expression grew even more serious, vigilantly scanning the surroundings, attempting to locate the presence of the enemies. Otherwise, the enemies would be concealed in darkness while they themselves would be exposed, which would be extremely disadvantageous.

Yue was doing the same, brushing all her hair behind her back, gripping her Crocodile Blade tightly in her hand, ready to respond to any sudden situation.

Yan Hua, Sha Lan, and Ai’er, the Warrior Trainees, were following closely beside Su Bai.

The group of them formed a tight circle, all wielding weapons in unified defence, never having imagined they would encounter danger here.

Because they had selected a rather secluded location, it seemed impossible that anyone would be there, but unexpectedly, this sort of thing had happened.

*Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!*

Once again, the sound of objects cutting through the air arose, but this time several dark shadows flew out, which meant several sharp stones.

*Clatter! Clatter! Clatter!*

Ye Jiu, Yue, and the others swiftly blocked all these dark shadows, each movement exceedingly clean and efficient.

They were no longer willing to await their fate passively, so they took up their weapons and charged towards the location they had sensed.

*Step step step…* The sound of several people running in the night was particularly noticeable, and their speed was also quite fast. In the blink of an eye, they had rushed to the position from which the stones had been thrown.

“So fast!” A female voice suddenly sounded from the darkness.

*Slash slash slash…*

Yue, wielding her Crocodile Blade, swung rapidly, cutting down all the disorderly undergrowth.

After the undergrowth was cut down, the figures who had been hiding within it were revealed.

It was the same with Ye Jiu and the others; they had also dragged out the other three hiding in the darkness.

The dark figures appeared to be one girl and three boys, all seeming quite young in age.

“…” The figures in the darkness evidently had not anticipated this sort of situation; all four were startled.

For a moment, they were at a loss for what to do, all standing bewildered in place, forgetting to even flee.

Yue bound all four of them with vines, then brought them before Su Bai. Her expression was quite grim; if not for wanting to get to the bottom of this, she would have cut down all four with a single stroke just now.

“Who are you?” Su Bai asked with furrowed brows.

The moonlight gently fell upon these people, and their appearances began to clearly emerge.

The girl at the front had medium-short purple hair, with some scattered freckles on her face, and skin that appeared wheat-coloured. Despite this, her features still looked quite delicate, and her appearance resembled that of a Xinjiang beauty from Earth (also known as Uyghur beauty).

She was not particularly short, about 1.67 metres, wearing tattered Animal Hide, clearly having lived in the Wilderness for quite some time. From her gaunt Physique and the dirt on her face, one could see that she was malnourished.

The other three individuals were similar, all appearing undernourished, not particularly tall, and seeming to be around twenty years of age, but only about 1.7 metres in height.

In the Primitive Era, for adult males, this height was considered short. It was evident that their nutrition had been inadequate, resulting in their limited growth.

Their skin colour was similarly wheat-coloured (brownish), and their features were quite well-defined.

The purple haired girl did not speak, her expression filled with astonishment, clearly not having yet recovered from what had just transpired.

The others were the same, momentarily speechless, appearing to be thoroughly frightened.

“Our Shaman is asking you a question. Who are you?” Sha Lan, changing from her usually quiet demeanour, suddenly became extremely serious.

The purple haired girl was startled for quite a while before she reacted, asking puzzledly, “How did you discover us?”

“…” Su Bai was taken aback upon hearing the purple haired girl’s voice, not expecting her accent to be so heavy. He could not quite place what accent it was, but it was completely different from the voices he had heard thus far.

It was very much like someone from the south of Earth listening to someone from the north speak; one would immediately recognise the difference. Moreover, this difference was quite obvious; from their appearance, it was clearly evident that these people must have come from a very distant place.

“Don’t ask irrelevant questions. Who are you? If you don’t answer, we will immediately dispose of you.” Sha Lan said in a tone full of killing intent.

Truly, if not for wanting to clarify who these people were, they would have likely died behind the undergrowth long ago.

“We are people from the Mountain Elephant Tribe, but we cannot return, and we are very hungry. We just happened to see you here…” The purple haired girl said, her speech filled with a thick accent.

“The Mountain Elephant Tribe? I’ve never heard of this Tribe before. Is it nearby?” Sha Lan continued to ask. Her memory was amazing, so from a young age, she had heard many stories and heard the names of many other Tribes, but this was the first time she had heard the name of this Tribe.

“From the other side of this river, but we cannot return…” The purple haired girl said.

As she finished speaking, an expression of sorrow immediately appeared on her face.

“Why can’t you return? Is it because you did something wrong and got expelled?” Sha Lan continued to ask.

The purple haired girl shook her head and said no more, her mood clearly having dampened considerably.

Su Bai blinked his black eyes, surveying those people. When he heard that those people were from the other side of the great river, his interest was immediately piqued.

He stood up, looking at those people, and asked, “What is on the other side of this river? Are all the people there like you?”

What Su Bai meant was whether everyone there had the same appearance, and whether their skin colour was like that.

The purple haired girl slowly raised her head, looked at him, and nodded slowly.

At this moment, she could not help but marvel inwardly at why their skin all appeared so white.

And she felt that their features looked so small and delicate, and why did they all speak so strangely? It was completely different from them.

However, what was different was that she saw they were dressed quite well, in things she had never seen before.

The things they wore looked completely different from Animal Hide, feeling as though they would be very comfortable to wear.

“What is the environment like over there? Is it the same as ours?” Su Bai asked.
