Chapter 456, Turns Out It Was Overthinking

*Step step step…*

Qing Yan led that group of people as they arrived at the Flame Dragon Tribe, with everyone now gathered outside the Tribe.

The people of the Flame Dragon Tribe walked into the Tribe first, wanting to put away the traded items.

Xi Guo stayed outside the Tribe, responsible for watching those people and explaining some precautions.

He stood up straight and said. “After entering the Tribe, don’t wander around. You must follow us closely, and then we will arrange for your accommodation.”

He was most afraid that those people would wander around after entering, making it difficult to find them later. Besides, there were many confidential matters in the Tribe that they could not let these people know about yet.

“We understand.” Everyone replied in unison.

“Only work will provide you with meat to eat. This is an unchanging principle, remember this.” Xi Guo sternly said.

He did not want the several hundred people they brought back to become lazy and undisciplined after returning to the Tribe. The Tribe desperately needed people now, so they had to be diligent. He had heard that there were still many cement houses to be built before the snow season arrived.

So, the Tribe’s current manpower was simply not enough, and if these people were lazy, it would be even worse!

“We remember.” Those several hundred people responded again.

“Since we’ve been traveling for several days, today, we’ll rest well. Tomorrow someone will arrange work for you.” Xi Guo said again.

“Yes.” Everyone replied.

*Step step step…*

Someone came out and said a word to Xi Guo, then began leading those several hundred people into the Tribe.

Those several hundred people were shocked as soon as they entered the Flame Dragon Tribe. It was not just about the specially ‘turned’ soil outside. There were also those tall wooden houses. Upon entering the Tribe, they found that many wooden houses had been demolished, which surprised them.

Looking around, the entire Tribe had only a few dozen wooden houses left, yet there were many people of the Flame Dragon Tribe coming and going within the Tribe.

The large number of people in the Flame Dragon Tribe did not match the number of wooden houses standing – there simply were not enough of them to live in.

They wondered if dozens of people had to live in one wooden house? But that was impossible, these wooden houses could not accommodate so many people.

They were stunned, and even a little angry. This felt different from what they had heard! Wasn’t the Flame Dragon Tribe supposed to be very good? And also very prosperous, where one could always work, and they would have meat to eat.

But now there was not even a place to stay, let alone eating meat. The snow season was coming soon. Without wooden houses, how would they survive the snow season?

This scene was such a shock to them that they found it hard to accept the reality.

“Is the Flame Dragon Tribe trying to deceive us? Didn’t they say there was a lot of meat for us to eat?” Someone in the crowd first questioned.

“Yes, they said as long as we work, we’ll have meat to eat. Now, there aren’t even houses, let alone work!” Someone in the crowd was livid.

“It seems our worst fears have come true. What do we do now? We can’t go back to our Tribes anymore…” Another person angrily said.

“I think we should still try, otherwise should we stay here and wait to die? They don’t even have enough wooden houses, how will we survive the snow season?” Another person suggested.

“I never thought such a Large Tribe would deceive others. Where did their ceramics come from?” Someone in the crowd questioned.

“…”

Those several hundred people were very angry. They thought they had finally made a good decision. But in the end, they had been deceived. How could this be considered a good Tribe?

Xi Guo heard their conversations and his expression changed. He turned around and said. “If you feel wronged, you can leave now. Our Shaman never deceives others.”

The conversations of those people sounded very jarring to him. He originally did not want to say anything, but those people were saying more and more ridiculous things.

“We’re just telling the truth. Didn’t you say the Flame Dragon Tribe was good? But now there are only a few wooden houses!” Someone in the crowd responded.

“That’s right! The snow season is coming soon. Are we all supposed to freeze to death outside!?” Another person added.

Because this was not what they had imagined. They had come to the Flame Dragon Tribe hoping for a better life, only to now face freezing to death.

“When did I say you would freeze to death? Since our Shaman said that as long as you work, you’ll have meat to eat and a place to live, then it’s all true.” Xi Guo said.

But he understood too. Anyone who initially heard of such good things and then came here to see many wooden houses demolished, would naturally be unhappy.

So, his tone later was not very harsh, though his facial expression remained serious.

“So, what’s going on now!? With just these few wooden houses left, there won’t be enough once we move in, right!?” Someone in the crowd shouted.

“Look carefully. Although there are no more wooden houses, we have cement houses.” Xi Guo pointed behind him.

All three hundred people stood on tiptoe looking behind him, and indeed found many cement houses.

At first, they did not know what those were, but after hearing the explanation, they realized those were houses.

However, hearing this, they were stunned again.

[Cement houses? Stones can used to build houses? And those cement houses all looked perfectly squared, not like they were formed naturally.]

“Can those cement houses really be lived in?” Someone in the crowd asked with doubt.

“Of course, otherwise why would we build cement houses? If they could not be lived in, why would we demolish wooden houses? Where would we live when the snow season comes?” Xi Guo asked in return.

“How are those cement houses built? How are they made so square?” The people in the crowd were extremely surprised. This was the first time they had seen such houses, and the first time they knew that stones could be used to build houses.

But what puzzled them greatly was, how were the stones stacked up? Would they not fall down?

“You’ll know when the time comes, but for now, you’ll still be living in wooden houses,” Xi Guo said seriously.

He still needed to set expectations upfront, otherwise it would not be good if these people had their hopes raised up too high. Who knew if they might mistakenly think they could live in those cement houses right now?

“We understand.” The more than three hundred people replied in unison.

They had indeed thought so at first, initially thinking they could sleep in those cement houses. This way, they would see what kind wonder a cement house was, but it turned out they were just overthinking things.
