Chapter 488, Yong’an Building

Su Bai took a piece of Wolf Tail Grass Paper and began writing some characters on it. In no time, he had written several words.

He picked it up and looked at it, muttering to himself. “Which one would be better?”

“Shaman, is something the matter?” Yu Ying heard the faint sounds and immediately raised her head.

“Xiao Yu, come over here for a moment and help me decide which one is better,” Su Bai asked.

Yu Ying put down her needlework, stood up and walked over, asking, “Shaman, what are you looking at?”

“I’m considering names for our building. I’ve written several options, and I’d like your opinion,” Su Bai said.

*Step step step…*

Just as he finished speaking, Yan Hua, pulling Sha Lan along, both arrived at the second floor.

“Shaman, we’ve finished training,” Yan Hua said, breathing heavily, with sweat on her forehead, neck, and below.

Su Bai took out two tissues and handed them over, saying. “Rest for a moment, then have some water.”

“Thank you, Shaman,” Yan Hua smiled broadly.

Sha Lan also received two tissues and began wiping the sweat from her body; once dry, it would become too sticky.

“You’ve come at just the right time. The Shaman has asked me to help choose a name, and you can also give your opinions.” Yu Ying said.

Yan Hua shook her long hair and asked. “What name? A child’s name?”

After she spoke, she realised something was amiss and immediately widened her red eyes to look at Yu Ying and Su Bai.

The expression on her face was as if a great drama was unfolding, utterly complex, with her mouth twitching uncontrollably.

Sha Lan, hearing Yan Hua’s words, also realised something was wrong, and her cat tail immediately drooped.

She looked dejected and asked. “Are you naming the child you’re having with the Shaman?”

After hearing this, Yu Ying’s face was covered with black lines. She hurriedly waved her hands and exclaimed. “What are you thinking!?”

Yu Ying’s face immediately turned red, and she quickly lowered her head, appearing confused with her hands unnaturally clutching the hem of her linen skirt.

“Isn’t that the case?” Yan Hua, seeing Yu Ying’s demeanour, sighed with relief. Seeing that her chest was still flat made her feel even more at ease.

“You scared me to death. I thought… so quickly… so quickly…” Sha Lan could not finish her sentence.

“So quickly what?” Su Bai could not help but have the corners of his eyes twitch a few times.

He had not expected these girls would conjure up such an elaborate scenario in their minds; just one sentence had revealed their rich facial expressions.

“Nothing, nothing at all.” Sha Lan waved her hands repeatedly and asked. “Shaman, what name does Xiao Yu want us to help choose?”

“Yes, yes, which child needs a name? Was it found near the Tribe?” Yan Hua asked.

*Creak!*

“Found near the Tribe? Are you talking about me?” Co Co happened to open the laboratory door just then.

“No, help me choose a name for this building.” Su Bai asked.

“Ah!”

Now, the girls exclaimed in unison. Yu Ying merely shrugged her shoulders on the side, her expression seeming to say, ‘wasn’t it obvious?’

Co Co was even more confused, wondering why she had heard such a statement as soon as she came out after hearing the commotion.

“Yes, the place where we live needs a name. Always calling it the ‘cement house’ doesn’t sound very pleasant,” Su Bai did not understand why everyone was reacting so strongly.

Yan Hua, hearing this, completely relaxed and said. “I thought… so that’s what it is.”

“Shaman, what names are there to choose from?” Sha Lan asked awkwardly, not wanting to recall what she had misunderstood moments ago.

“Can we offer suggestions?” Co Co blinked her golden eyes and asked.

“Of course,” Su Bai nodded and said: “There are three names in total: Wanping Building (Complex but Balance), Beiping Building (Northern Peace also old name of Beijing), and Yong’an Building (Forever Peaceful).”

These three names were actually old names of ancient cities from Earth. They were all former names of certain capitals.

Su Bai quite liked these old names; they sounded comfortable and elegant, although completely different from the current savage Primitive Era.

But this place would eventually become a city one day, and by then this name would truly reflect the new era.

“These names all sound so nice; I like them all.” Yan Hua blurted out without hesitation.

After hearing the three names, Yan Hua did not compare them at all but felt that all three sounded lovely.

“Yes, they do sound very nice. It’s difficult to choose,” Sha Lan said after careful consideration.

Although different from Yan Hua, after serious thought, Sha Lan still found all three excellent.

Co Co tucked her short bangs behind her ear and said. “I think the last two sound very nice.”

“I also like the last two,” Yu Ying said, wagging her pink fox tail.

“Good, then let’s eliminate the first one and choose between the remaining two,” Su Bai smiled.

Actually, he liked all three names very much and found it difficult to decide, which is why he asked the girls for their opinions.

Yan Hua placed her finger on her chin, with a serious look of contemplation, and said: “Then I prefer Yong’an Building; it sounds nicer.”

“That’s true, but I think Beiping Building also sounds nice.” Sha Lan added.

Two people with completely different personalities seriously discussing a name. It made for a remarkably harmonious scene.

“Xiao Yu, Co Co, what about you two? Any different opinions?” Su Bai asked.

“I think both are good, but I also prefer the last one.” Co Co seriously analysed.

Yu Ying nodded firmly, blinking her watery pink eyes, and said. “I also like the last one, Yong’an Building.”

“Alright, then it’s decided. This place will be called Yong’an Building. Let’s make a plaque to hang up later,” Su Bai smiled.

Actually, this name was the first to pop into his mind when he was thinking about what to call the building. Now that the building would bear this name, it seemed appropriate.

“Shaman, what does Yong’an Building mean? Does it have a special significance?” Yan Hua asked curiously.

“Yes, yes, Shaman, do the other two names also have special meanings?” Sha Lan also became curious.

“Yong’an Building, as the name suggests, means ‘forever peaceful’, indicating that our place will always be safe and peaceful.” Su Bai smiled.

This was one reason he liked ancient names—those simple two characters could contain beautiful meaning, and when combined, they also sounded very pleasant.

“So that’s what it means. Then this name is most fitting for the building,” Yu Ying had not realised there was this layer of meaning.

“Yes, our place will always be peaceful,” Su Bai smiled.
