I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 479, I Will Not Leave

“In the future, we will have plenty of opportunities, but right now, the most important thing is to first familiarise yourselves with the Tribe.” Sha Lan said softly.

“Okay, you can take us to try this ‘carriage’ first. I’m really curious about that thing,” Lu Zi said.

She was most puzzled when she heard about the carriage, not understanding concepts like something pulled by horses, or what transportation vehicles were.

“If you want to ride a carriage, we need to go to the starting point.” Sha Lan said.

The Flame Dragon Tribe’s carriage station was established near the direction of the river, which would serve as the Tribe’s main entrance in the future, so the starting point had to be nearby.

In the future, when the port was established, anyone entering the Tribe would ride the carriage from there.

Now, for the sake of convenient management, they were uniformly arranged, with a small quantity of carriages. Currently, there were only four in total.

As they were currently in a stage of rapid development, few people had time to ride the carriage, so the demand was temporarily not that high. Moreover, if one wanted to ride now, one had to do some extra work every day. After all, there was no currency or similar means to charge them for the ride.

Therefore, if one wants to ride the carriage, one must contribute in labour. This had always been the Principles of the Flame Dragon Tribe.

Whether it was food, daily necessities, or clothing, it was all the same—labour leads to rewards and getting something for nothing was impossible here.

“All right,” Lu Zi nodded.

*Step step step…*

Everyone stepped towards the carriage starting point, their hearts filled with anticipation, wanting to know what this thing actually was.

After more than twenty minutes, they arrived at the carriage starting point, which was rather rudimentary, with just a small simple shed built.

It was just a few poles with some wooden boards and hay on top, very much like a stable back on Earth.

At the moment, four carriages were parked under the wooden shed, with four coachmen sitting on each carriage.

These four coachmen had all undergone special training and were already able to control these carriages.

“Are those the carriages? They look so strange.” Lu Zi was seeing such things for the first time. Those strange wooden frames assembled into small house-like structures, with a beast pulling at the front. Also, that beast even had a particularly unusual horn.

She had never seen such a beast before, and she had never seen a carriage used to pull this small house.

“You’ll understand once you get on. The carriage is very fun.” Sha Lan smiled.

Sha Lan had naturally ridden a carriage before and liked it as soon as she got on. Although the speed was not very fast until the horse started to run, it was stable, and the feeling of watching the Tribe recede along the way was also pleasant. In addition, the interior of the carriage was also decorated nicely, with simple windows hung with two pieces of Animal Hide, and the seats were also covered with Animal Hide.

When the carriage was first made, Sha Lan often brought Yan Hua to ride in it.

They, of course, did not need to labour for it; they could just go straight on and sit.

“Won’t it be dangerous? Will these beasts really obey?” Lu Zi worried.

These horses did not look like good-natured beasts, with their sharp eyes and the horn on their foreheads, they seemed like they were beasts that should never be provoked.

“They have been tamed by the Shaman and have become very docile. They won’t harm us.” Sha Lan said with certainty.

Lu Zi nodded thoughtfully and followed Sha Lan onto the carriage. Six people boarded one carriage.

“Are you ready, Miss Sha Lan? I’m about to depart.” The coachman politely said.

Since Sha Lan became Su Bai’s Shaman Priestess, all the people in the Tribe had been very respectful towards her. Everyone who saw her would greet her, and even invite her to their homes for meals and such.

“Yes, let’s depart.” Sha Lan nodded.

Lu Zi scanned her surroundings inside the carriage, her face full of curiosity, as this was her first experience.

*Clop! Clop…*

The carriage began to move slowly, gradually changing from a slow walk to a rapid advance.

Lu Zi’s body trembled, her purple eyes widened as she felt all of this, and she exclaimed, “How amazing!”

Lu Zi’s face was filled with surprise, and her hands could not help but brace against the wooden boards on both sides, her expression changing frequently. Although she had often ridden beasts in her Tribe before, that feeling was completely different from this one.

This feeling was like being in a wooden house, and the most amazing thing about this wooden house was that it could move on its own, which was the most surprising.

“Don’t worry too much. Nothing will happen. The road is very smooth.” Sha Lan said gently.

She was also like this at first, but after sitting for a while, she got used to it and found that although the carriage moved quickly, it was very stable.

Lu Zi nodded, composed her emotions, and poked her head out of the window beside her to look at everything outside. She kept blinking her purple eyes and muttered, “It’s really amazing. So, this is where you all live.”

Lu Zi saw that the people of the Flame Dragon Tribe all wore smiles on their faces, each busy with their own affairs, though most of them were building houses.

Some were paving the main road, and in some places, wisps of cooking smoke were rising continuously, which looked very much like the atmosphere of daily life.

Lu Zi suddenly sighed, and the expression on her face clearly showed that she was beginning to miss her own Tribe. She pursed her lips and muttered, “I wonder how Mother and the others are, and how the Tribe is doing.”

Sha Lan reached out and touched Lu Zi’s shoulder, comforting her, “The Shaman will find a way.”

Sha Lan heard her sigh and guessed that she must be thinking about her Tribe at this moment.

Lu Zi pulled her head back and asked, “Does the Shaman have a way? Can he let us go back?”

“I believe he can do it. The Shaman is so smart, and many of the new and interesting things in the Tribe are the Shaman’s ideas, like that hot air balloon, this carriage, and the houses being built now.”

Sha Lan withdrew her hand and continued, “In short, the Shaman is a genius, maybe he has a way.”

“It would be good if the Shaman really has a way. I just want to go back and take a look. Of course, I will not leave this Tribe.” Lu Zi said seriously.

She was not an ungrateful person, after all. She was being sheltered now and had decided to stay here, which meant she was now a member of this Tribe. If she still had her heart set on going back, it would not be good. So, she only hoped to be able to go back and check up on everyone there.

“The Shaman won’t force you to stay. He is a nice person.” Sha Lan suddenly remarked.

“Yes, I understand.” Lu Zi composed her mood and then continued to look out of the window.
