I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 457, A Little Shorter…

Su Bai opened his black eyes, got up and walked to the living room to continue drawing.

Recently, he had been drawing ship blueprints. Naturally, this was his next plan – to build a ship.

He wanted to see if he could build a ship before the snow season arrived. If he had a ship, everything would be much more convenient.

With a ship, he could begin exploring that river, which held many secrets waiting to be discovered.

What was on the other side? Were there other Tribes around the river? Where else did the river flow to?

All of these needed to be known. If these questions were clarified, it would greatly help the Tribe’s development, because they could trade and cooperate with other Tribes. Perhaps they could even expand the Tribe further, which would certainly be a good thing.

“Shaman, let’s have breakfast first,” Yu Ying’s gentle voice sounded.

Su Bai nodded slightly and stood up, saying, “Alright, what delicious food did you make today?”

“Today I made sweet potato pancakes, following the method you taught me.” Yu Ying smiled. She really enjoyed cooking, constantly learning new dishes. Each day, she would cook something with great enthusiasm. Besides sewing linen clothes, she also began researching cooking and cleaning the cement house.

“Very good, I just taught you yesterday and you’ve already mastered it today.” Su Bai smiled.

*Step step step…* Yan Hua and Sha Lan had just returned from training outside, both looking happy.

Co Co also opened the door to her laboratory; she had started experimenting early this morning.

“Good morning, Shaman,” The three girls said in unison.

“Perfect timing! Let’s have breakfast together,” Su Bai was the first to pick up a sweet potato pancake and start eating.

Yan Hua and the others also sat down, each taking sweet potato pancakes and beginning to taste them. Each day, they enjoyed Yu Ying’s cooking the most. She would always provide them with a pleasant surprise each day.

“Mmm… so delicious.” Co Co said contentedly, tucking her long golden hair behind her ear.

“Co Co, your hair is so long, don’t you find it troublesome?” Sha Lan asked curiously.

“Yes, isn’t it annoying to wash your hair each time?” Yan Hua disliked troublesome things the most, and felt tired just looking at that head of long hair.

Co Co brushed her hair again and sighed. “Yes, it is indeed very troublesome, but there’s nothing I can do. I don’t know how to deal with it.”

She had forgotten how to manage her hair due to her memory loss; she had essentially forgotten almost everything.

“Oh? I thought you wanted to keep it long. Well, let me help you with that. I can cut it.” Su Bai smiled.

It happened that the Assistance Package he opened today contained a pair of scissors. The previous scissors had been used for other things, so they were not suitable for cutting hair anymore.

“Really? Shaman, can my long hair be dealt with?” Co Co asked expectantly.

She had been troubled by this head of hair for a long time. Not only was bathing a hassle, but sleeping was also problematic, often waking up in pain after lying on her own hair.

“Of course, finish eating, and I’ll cut it for you afterward.” Su Bai said.

“Yes,” Co Co nodded.

*Crunch! Crunch!* The sound of crunching crispy sweet potato pancakes continuously echoed in the living room as everyone ate with great relish.

Half an hour later, everyone had finished breakfast and was contentedly drinking fruit tea.

Co Co stood up, smoothing her long golden hair, and asked, “Shaman, do I need to do anything?”

“No, just sit down.” Su Bai shook his head, picking up scissors and Animal Hide to make the preparations.

Co Co sat in her place with a confused look, appearing very obedient because she did not know what would happen next.

Su Bai wrapped the piece of Animal Hide around her neck, then secured it at the back with a clip.

He smiled slightly and said, “Don’t be nervous, just relax. I won’t hurt you.”

“Okay,” Co Co nodded thoughtfully, looking exactly like a child who had done something wrong, momentarily not knowing what to do.

This was Su Bai’s first time cutting someone else’s hair. He took out a comb that the System had previously provided and combed the girl’s hair. Then, he gathered the girl’s golden hair and first trimmed it roughly to about one-third of its original length.

“How’s that? Are you satisfied with this length? Do you want it cut shorter?” Su Bai asked. After all, back on Earth, hair was a girl’s life. Many girls did not want their hair cut short. Sometimes even if it was cut a little too much, they would feel devastated.

So, Su Bai’s question was meant to get her consent, as no one knew exactly what length she wanted.

Co Co looked back at the length of her hair, thought for a moment, and asked, “Shaman, can you cut it a bit shorter? It’s still a bit long.”

Su Bai raised his eyebrows slightly and nodded, “Alright, I’ll cut it shorter for you.”

He picked up the scissors and cut off another long section, so that Co Co’s hair no longer dragged on the ground.

Now the length reached her waist, which was the typical length for many girls.

“How about this length? Do you want it even shorter?” Su Bai thought this should be sufficient.

“Let’s cut it even shorter, it’s still a bit long,” Co Co said without hesitation.

Co Co no longer wanted long hair, as she now frequently conducted experiments, and having long hair was troublesome. It often interfered with her experiments.

“Alright,” Su Bai was a bit surprised, not expecting her to want her hair so short.

He continued cutting her hair, cutting off another large portion. Now, the length reached her neck.

“Shaman, let’s make it a bit shorter,” Co Co still felt it was too long.

“This is still too long!?” Su Bai was confused, the difference between their expectations was too great.

“Yes,” Co Co smiled awkwardly.
