Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Temporary Wizard Tower at the forefront of the Primal Dream State, Wizard Academy.

“News has come from the witches’ side, stating that the Expansion Realm may welcome a super-large-scale Dream Calamity in the near future, and they have already begun packing their things to leave.”

“What? From where did you obtain this news?”

The Wizard leading the data observation of the Wizard Tower was interrupted by a panicked Tower Keeper, his originally focused expression turning slightly displeased.

“Just... the Witch Academy sent a witch over to notify us...”

“You fucking believed whatever they said? No brains at all; you’re actually reporting this kind of news to me?”

The Wizard began to curse directly, incensed by this intelligence.

He found the Wizard Tower Keeper before him increasingly an eyesore.

A Tower Keeper was not a Transcendent Wizard; their positioning was the same as a Teaching Assistant in the Witch Academy—essentially students.

In the current Expansion Realm, they could similarly be consumables that could be used up.

Transcendent Wizards rarely collaborated on research projects, which was why there was a development direction of “one Transcendent, one Wizard Tower.”

The ones assisting a Wizard were always apprentices and Tower Keepers.

The lives of these apprentices and Tower Keepers were also almost entirely held in the hands of the Transcendent Wizard Tower Lord, because they had come into contact with too many of that Wizard’s “secrets.”

The methods of Wizards were exactly like this: once a method was disclosed, it would be targeted.

Because the relationships between Wizards were similarly unreliable; the only commonality between them was a single faith—the “Wizard Will.”

“B-but... the Witch Academy even sent this news to the main campus of our Wizard Academy... originally I didn’t believe it either and felt there was no need to report it to you, but this is a notification sent over from the academy side.”

“The academy...”

The Wizard frowned, still appearing somewhat impatient. “Did the academy force us to go back?”

“No... but the academy still advises us to return. The Witch Academy’s behavior this time is far too abnormal. The academy side guesses that the Witch Academy is going to pull off some big move on us, even to the point of......”

“If they didn’t force us to return, then why give a damn! Those fellows in the academy only know how to sit around a table and shout at each other. They only cry for sharing regarding first-hand data of the Primal Dream State, yet now they tell us to return after getting the data? They’re afraid we’ll research something! With that pathetic bird-like display of theirs......”

The Wizard directed a torrent of abuse at the senior levels of the Wizard Academy, and some of the subsequent words were even unbearable to hear.

That Tower Keeper carefully and earnestly endured it on the side, not daring to talk back at all.

Meanwhile, this Wizard continued to focus his attention and energy on his own research at hand, his mouth still muttering some words.

“Hmph hmph... results will be ready soon... those witches of the Witch Academy are truly stupid, actually disclosing something like the Nightmare Spell to students a while ago... what could they possibly learn from that? They simply don’t understand the core of this spell—exactly how broad the application prospects of the Primal Dream State rune actually are...”

Clearly, this Wizard, who had a certain level of research into the Primal Dream State, valued the “Nightmare Spell” that most Teaching Assistants had learned during the moment the Expansion Realm opened back then.

One could not blame Wizards for liking to spend time on such inconspicuous things.

After all, for witches, even a fireball spellbook that could not be more ordinary, when held in the hands of a Wizard and using the Wizard Truth rules they summarized as a lever, could use knowledge to pry a several-fold energy level amplification and achieve terrifying effects.

And this Wizard saw infinite possibilities within something everyone else ignored.

And he intended to apply this brand-new sorcery technique, optimized by himself, within the Primal Dream State.

It was not only the witches who coveted the destructive effects brought by Primal Dream State calamities; Wizards were the earliest people to give birth to this desire for possession.

In their view, the Primal Dream State was simply the best carrier for the Consciousness Banishment Sealing Sorcery!

Did people really think those student consciousnesses drifting in the Primal Dream State were there to let them detect data of the Primal Dream State at close range for easy collection?

No, the students themselves were the consumables of the experiment!

And their banished consciousnesses were the effect those Wizards most wanted to see!

When the witches decided to personally explore the Primal Dream State, although the people of the Wizard Academy cursed them on the surface for simply seeking death, in their hearts they were extremely happy, almost blooming with joy.

When those witches “could not return” as expected, they became even more convinced that the Primal Dream State was an excellent carrier!

If even Transcendent Witches could not resist the dangers of the Primal Dream State, then why wouldn’t they expend energy to research such a method?

It was all too worthy of them giving their everything for it!

Situations similar to this Wizard’s were also constantly playing out in other places.

However, not all Wizards, Elves, or Holy Angels were willing to stay all the time.

After all, there were plenty of people who gained nothing after researching for ages.

With no positive feedback, upon seeing the Witch Academy “running away” ahead of time, Transcendents of other academies actually wanted to leave as well.

Therefore, in the Expansion Realm, quite a few minor frictions suddenly appeared, basically being Transcendents from other academies coming to the Witch Academy’s side to cause trouble.

Although it was called causing trouble, in essence, it was coming to inquire about the situation, and some wanted to have an excuse to leave.

But they didn’t dare go too far; after all, if they riled up the witches, the other party really would make them suffer the consequences.

So very quickly, the news that the Expansion Realm was about to welcome a super-large-scale Dream Calamity also spread increasingly.

And the students in the Expansion Realm were all in a panic, but the students on the Witch Academy’s side instead behaved somewhat resistantly; they didn’t want to leave the Expansion Realm so suddenly.

After all, while the students of other academies were truly afraid because their academies truly didn’t plan to evacuate, the students of the Witch Academy... they were truly going to leave.

Perhaps this was the different feeling brought by different academies.

Lest it be forgotten why the students of the Witch Academy had come to the Expansion Realm; their coming here to cooperate with the mentors’ experiments was merely a pretense—reaching their hands into the Expansion Realm again through the opportunity was the real goal.

Moreover, the Witch Academy did not promote pushing students toward such dangerous experiments; it could be said that being favored had gone beyond having no fear, and they were almost ready to walk all over others.

Therefore, regarding this evacuation, the academy side’s attitude was also very tough; if they didn’t evacuate or stubbornly dragged their feet, they would have to bear the consequences themselves.

During this period, there was another person who was similarly very busy.

“Mhm... okay... alright.”

Millian nodded hurriedly in assurance, only then making an assurance to Bai Yu before finally leaving.

As an important member of Little Han’s Support Group, regarding the academy’s temporary opening of the Expansion Realm channel, she naturally made arrangements at the first moment.

But she could not contact Little Han, not even with the Seed of Great Knowledge.

So she was forced to find Mentor Bai Yu, and only then did she learn of Little Han’s situation.

The matter this time was extremely complex, but by combining the situation learned from her intelligence network with the truth learned from Mentor Bai Yu, she could be considered to know part of the cause and effect.

And what shocked her most was that this anomaly in the Expansion Realm was again caused by Little Han, but this time Little Han herself seemed to have been caught into that place called the “Primal Dream State” by this accident.

This made her extremely uneasy.

Because according to what she knew, not a single one of those students who fell into the Primal Dream State had awakened by escaping it so far.

Furthermore, this dream state was not an ordinary dream overlap of the Expansion Realm; this was a dream state where one could die!

And the news of Little Han falling into the Primal Dream State also spread like wildfire among the people participating in the experiment, which once again dealt another blow to Little Han’s Support Group.

Many people also left the Support Group because of this, which was not what Millian wanted to see.

Although she knew very well that the nature of the Support Group was a loose collective of people who gathered using Little Han’s name, each taking what they needed, Millian had also utilized this to gather a large amount of resources for Little Han.

It had to be said that Millian really didn’t want this collective to fall apart.

After all, everyone being together could be called partners to put it nicely, and getting things done was very convenient.

Once it split, it wouldn’t be easy to speak of sentiment.

The people of the Support Group were all potential individual connections.

But Millian could not stop those who left; after all, they felt Little Han was simply too capable of causing trouble.

“Instability” was the greatest flaw of Little Han’s Support Group—causing trouble every few days, and always big trouble that tossed her to death!

Who could stand that?

Even regarding those who stayed, Millian knew very well that those people didn’t care about Little Han’s life or death; they only felt that by continuing to stay here, there were still profits to be made.

Since that was the case, there was naturally no need to burn bridges.

After all... wasn’t Little Han not dead yet?

Even if she were dead, what if it was a fake death like last time?

So this time Millian directly relied on connections within the Expansion Realm to seek out Mentor Bai Yu and learn some of the situation.

This was naturally not just her own intention.

Not only her, but the people in the Support Group who truly cared about Little Han, as well as Yi Rui’s research collective—they all needed some reassurance.

After Millian obtained what she wanted to know, she also subsequently left.

Bai Yu watched Millian leave, and before she had gone far, a figure appeared before her.

“Why are you still around here? Hasn’t your contact with me recently been a bit too frequent? Aren’t you afraid the Academy Head will be suspicious?”

Bai Yu looked at the Anti-Witch Cheryl before her and spoke with some helplessness.

“Why do you care about me so much? If that Mei really could guess my true intentions, shouldn’t you be happy?”

“Stop talking nonsense. What are you here for this time? Little Han is still in the Primal Dream State; are you still trying to cause trouble?”

“Cause trouble? Don’t make it sound so unpleasant.”

Cheryl gave a light laugh, and subsequently approached Bai Yu’s side.

“The two of us could be considered very familiar by now, right? There are some things... there should be no need to hide them from me anymore, right?”

“What do you mean?”

Bai Yu asked calmly.

“Then I’ll just be blunt. I don’t believe the communication between you and Little Han is only that one publicly shown. Opening another private chat channel separately would be very simple for the Great Tree of Knowledge, wouldn’t it?”

Cheryl asked with a smile, but her tone was very certain.

“How are you so sure? And since you said yourself it’s a private chat, do you think I would show it to you?”

“No, no, no I’m not interested in whatever mushy things you two shared.”

Cheryl hurriedly waved her hand and spoke: “What I am curious about is what you know! Little Han certainly knows many things within the Primal Dream State, but she hasn’t said them, or they’re hard to say. However, when privately chatting with you, she will definitely reveal a lot of intelligence to you.”

“Why are you so certain?”

Bai Yu continued to prevaricate.

“Empathy, aren’t you two a couple, after all? If it were me, I couldn’t achieve your level of calm. That’s the Primal Dream State! Little Han definitely said something to you to stabilize your emotions.”

Cheryl spoke very seriously: “To be honest, your acting is truly not up to par. I guess the Academy Head must have guessed it too, but didn’t ask directly because it’s your privacy, choosing instead to inquire in a roundabout way. But I am different; I’m coming to ask you to your face.”

“Then I can also choose not to tell you. From where do you get the confidence that I will tell you? If I really were to talk, wouldn’t it be safer to tell the Academy Head Mei?”

“I admire Little Han very much.”

“What?”

Bai Yu looked at Cheryl with some strangeness, not knowing why she had suddenly said such a sentence.

“You understand my motive and are clear on the reason for my motive... I’ve begun to believe that sentence you said. ’Little Han has her own rhythm, constantly moving forward... so-called schemes and conspiracies cannot catch up to her.’

I can be considered to have experienced that feeling too.”

Cheryl spoke with a smile, repeating the words Bai Yu had once said.

“So... your plan was spoiled by Little Han’s experiment this time? Or did you give up?”

Bai Yu looked at Cheryl with a sharp gaze, as if trying to see a hint of frustration on Cheryl’s face, but she found nothing.

“I’ve begun to admire her increasingly, but it wouldn’t count as being spoiled. After all, what I want to do is never to create trouble for Little Han, but to create opportunities where I see her shine. Tell me about what she’s done. I am willing to listen respectfully; it doesn’t matter even if it’s been artistically processed by you. Facts do not lie.”

“……”

“Silence represents your hesitation, and hesitation represents that the things you hide are not absolutely impossible to tell me. So... is this because my bargaining chips aren’t enough?”

Cheryl looked at Bai Yu, a hint of helplessness in her tone, as if she felt Bai Yu was being a bit greedy.

“Relying only on a few words and wanting to know Little Han’s secrets—don’t you think you are being too greedy?”

“It seems that is indeed the logic.”

Cheryl symbolically reflected a bit and did not refute.

“But you are also clear that there is no room for bargaining in all this. If Little Han bears a grudge against me for it, I don’t care either.”

“You truly are stubborn and impermeable to persuasion.”

“It can’t be helped who let the things we Anti-Witches do be things that offend witches? Tell me, or... you can ask Little Han: is she willing to tell me?”
