Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Academy Head’s office.

“Let me see. Did Little Han cause some big commotion again? Why be so secretive?”

“Why have you suddenly become interested in Little Han again?”

Mei Linde looked at the witch before her with an impatient gaze as she inquired.

“Why Curious? I am indeed very interested in her. If you don’t tell me, then I’ll go find her at the site. They seem to be conducting a small-scale experiment right now, don’t they?”

Cheryl said with a smile.

“You even know that? There’s no need to pester me for other information then, is there?”

Although Mei Linde said this, she still pulled out a document.

Compared to telling the Anti-Witch before her, she preferred that this person didn’t run off alone to see Little Han.

She suddenly discovered that the Anti-Witch before her spending all her time in this office was actually a good thing; at least this person wouldn’t go elsewhere to cause trouble.

“Self-generating Magic Power. I naturally know about this talent. But who would have thought that such a thing could be mastered by a Lesser Witch? If she cannot become a witch, then I can only take her…”

“She will inevitably become a witch.”

“Then do you want to bet?”

Cheryl asked with a smile.

“Of course I do. But the prerequisite is that you sign a non-interference contract. Will you?”

Mei Linde countered.

“You’re taking it too seriously. Really, I was just saying it for fun.”

Cheryl took the document and laughingly brushed the matter off.

And this document was a summary made after Scholar Serina Palitzer’s visit to the laboratory.

Although this was not a deep exploration of principles, an outsider only needed to know the data they wanted to know; professional matters were left to professional people.

They only needed to look at key issues, such as experimental methods, total time consumed, complexity, etc., including the thought process used during the experiment, and information on the substitutability and universality of these methods.

“Are you fooling me? Only this much?”

“Read it if you want. Did you want to ask about its principles? It’s good enough that I gave you some materials you can understand. Do you still want to learn a trick or two on the spot to try it out yourself?”

“Hey, hey, hey… that was sarcasm, wasn’t it? Are you saying my brain isn’t functioning well?”

“Isn’t it?”

Mei Linde asked doubtfully.

“What a coincidence. I really am not very good at academic matters.”

Cheryl admitted it very openly; it seemed she didn’t mind having her shortcomings exposed.

Anti-Witches were already misunderstood by many people; this level of talk was not enough to break her guard.

“At least you have some self-awareness.”

Mei Linde rolled her eyes and said, then busied herself with her own affairs again.

And what she was busy with was none other than the transformation of the massive Destiny Gazing experiment instrument in the laboratory.

The previous Destiny Gazing observation instrument had been a huge help to them when they were repairing the Expansion Realm.

But after the Expansion Realm’s repair ended, they changed this instrument into one used to observe the Umbilicus Mundi based on that foundation.

As for whether they didn’t need to continue repairing the Main World?

Of course they had to repair it!

But they had encountered a difficulty; without the Umbilicus Mundi, even the progress of repairing the Main World would be stuck.

If such an important place was not held in their hands, even repairing the Expansion Realm would be very difficult.

One must know that what was currently being used to repair the Expansion Realm was just a Small World!

A Small World was completely incomparable to the Main World, but that was the limit of what they could repair, and it was centered around that Earth Vein break in Ninglan New City.

Therefore, saying that Ninglan New City was currently the world center of the Expansion Realm was a statement that had no issues at all.

Without the Umbilicus Mundi as a medium, it was extremely difficult for them to repair the Earth Veins.

After all, repairing a world was essentially repairing the Earth Veins and awakening the Earth Veins.

And the Umbilicus Mundi was the bridge between the world and the Void Earth Veins, so the Witch Academy, which had not mastered the Umbilicus Mundi, was very passive.

In fact… the Expansion Realm being opened to other academies after its repair was also a degree of “compromise.”

Including the incident of the assassination attempt on Little Han afterward, which was blown out of proportion by the Witch Academy, leading to the total closure of the Expansion Realm, the other Transcendent academies said nothing.

Actually, the witches hoped they would have objections, but those three Transcendent races really shrank back into the Core Realm like turtles.

“By the way, can this big fellow of yours really help you collect information and the location of the Umbilicus Mundi?”

Cheryl finished reading the document roughly and then tossed it onto the table casually.

Afterward, her gaze fell upon the most exaggerated creation in the entire laboratory.

“One always has to try, right?”

Mei Linde said.

“I heard Little Han came up with this too. Speaking of which, what use are you all? Why does everything need Little Han’s help?”

Cheryl critiqued sharply.

“…”

Mei Linde was stunned by Cheryl’s words and instinctively wanted to retaliate.

Had they really done nothing!

Why did she evaluate a witch’s silent dedication so poorly based on one aspect?

From the initial entry into the Main World to their development today, bringing the Witch Academy to this point, countless Academic Witches had dedicated themselves to researching their own projects and topics.

Their completion at the Transcendent level, development in spells, and innovation in techniques—not everything was suitable to be brought out for grand publicizing, but that did not mean they had no contribution.

Even a witch who researched [Transcendent Knowledge] for a hundred years without results—even just standing guard in the laboratory without doing anything was a kind of miracle…

However, Mei Linde, who recalled so much in an instant, ultimately did not say a word.

She wanted to speak but found that what she was saying was merely sentiment.

“Yes, young Lesser Witches are the most energetic and creative. Perhaps that is the meaning of the Witch Academy’s existence.”

Mei Linde sighed with sentiment; this came from her heart.

If a person at the Reserve Witch or Lesser Witch stage did not show a special advantage or ability far exceeding that of some mentor, then even if such a person became a Transcendent Witch, they would only be a very ordinary witch.

It wasn’t that the witch race looked down on such witches; the Primal Witch cared for every single witch, whether they were ordinary or outstanding.

“Rarely, you can actually say something like that… oh you are the Academy Head. It seems the identity you are playing has given you deep feelings.”

“I indeed have deep feelings. Perhaps you can also try to establish a Witch Academy somewhere in the Void. Maybe your thoughts will change. Don’t you Anti-Witches like to correct things? Perhaps it would be better if you made changes starting from the very beginning.”

“A very reasonable persuasion… but I have opened Witch Academies before, though they were all eventually ruined by me because I found that they didn’t seem worthy of becoming a witch, nor worthy of me guiding them.”

“Then perhaps you only stared at those children’s bad roots. Have you never examined yourself? Your statement and your actions are somewhat self-contradictory.”

The Academy Head said.

However, Mei Linde knew very well why this was.

The Anti-Witch before her likely possessed a philosophy of Transcendent witch race supremacy.

She could accept a fellow Transcendent Witch making a mistake and would go to correct it, even if the methods were intense.

But non-witch existences… she would only think she was wasting time.

This was a very common type of racial superiority within the witch race.

One could only say it was a bad habit spoiled by the Primal Witch.

However, no witch criticized the Primal Witch for this behavior.

Furthermore, the Primal Witch hadn’t done anything; she simply stayed at the Witch World’s Great Library with an absolute posture, and from then on, no other race dared to take a single step into the witch’s Void territory.

These were all spontaneous behaviors.

After all, witches were meant to stand on the side of witches and protect everything belonging to witches.

When everything stood on the side of the witch race, all problems lost their right and wrong.

And at this moment, in this office, such a conversation did not stop.

The probing and interaction of philosophies between the witch and the Anti-Witch continued to play out, but perhaps no one saw the sincerity coming from the Anti-Witch.

Witch Academy indoor training ground.

This was the venue the academy approved for the laboratory to conduct the small-scale promotion experiment.

After a period of tidying up, this place became a super large experimental test site, and it was a wear-resistant field that could withstand the rough use of spells.

The missions released on the academy system also quickly recruited “volunteers” to come and help.

And the reason it was so efficient was naturally because of money power!

In the Witch Academy, not everyone had the qualification to say they could achieve financial freedom.

Even if they knew a trick or two of Transcendent techniques—alchemy, pharmacy, and the like—these were not rare in the Witch Academy, so the prices were not beautiful.

Excluding the material costs, there really wasn’t much profit.

Therefore, many students at the academy treated taking on high-paying public missions as a kind of temporary part-time job.

After all, who wouldn’t want to serve a rich woman to get quick money?

Just like in our laboratory, there were many rich women.

Money was truly just a number to them.

Of course, this was limited to ordinary currency.

For Mithril, Arcanite Gold, and the like, everyone was lacking.

So as soon as this mission was released, it attracted many people.

Furthermore, it was just helping to follow directions to do some chores or trivial things.

And the people who generally contacted these missions were mostly lower-grade students, even freshmen.

After all, newly enrolled students were all very short on money.

Facing a completely new world like the Witch Academy, there were too many fresh things before them that could empty their wallets, and they had too many things they wanted to buy.

Regarding this behavior of releasing missions, I also expressed no objection.

After all, trivial matters would only pointlessly consume our precious energy and time.

They had important things to do.

I also had important things to do.

That was to go to the Myriad Connection Arena to synchronize permissions—specifically, the root network and power network of the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree.

These were also the permissions granted after reporting.

Just like the Newcomer Competition a while ago, setting the energy level of the lowest-tier power network at that training ground was similar to this kind of permission.

Although the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree was created by me, it currently served the Witch Academy, and the Witch Academy was not my personal domain.

If I wanted to use it, I naturally needed to apply for permissions according to the process.

And as long as these had permissions, I could directly use the root network to project experimental area boundary warnings, identity identification, and so on at the training ground we were at.

This included providing participants in this experiment with simpler and clearer guidance and identity markings within the training ground.

Although what the root network projected was not a physical entity, it was more convenient for providing warnings and transmitting messages.

More importantly, it could also interface with the experimental instruments to perform temporary data storage and timely access.

Furthermore, with me here, who possessed a Great Tree of Knowledge, it could be said that my mobilization of the usage permissions here was absolutely the most free.

I could put a personal information ID account on everyone’s head, or even an HP and MP bar.

These were all application techniques completed during that game experiment back in the Expansion Realm.

The collection of personal information could also interface with the Earth Vein and the Earth Vein Appraisal Spell, and be displayed.

“Yes! You all, you few come over here quickly.”

A voice rang out across the training ground, and afterward, several lower-grade girl juniors were called over.

“Coming, senior, is there anything else you need us to do?”

“Do you know how to play with sandbox simulations and the like?”

This senior displayed a piece of miniature sandbox projected through the root network beside her.

This was precisely the 3D holographic map of this training ground and its nearby surroundings.

“Eh? What do you mean specifically?”

The several juniors who jogged over asked with some doubt.

“Look this projected sandbox before you is the interactive miniature sandbox for this area we are currently in. It is an interactive operation interface granted by the root network’s permissions.”

The girl said this while using her hand to zoom in on a local area, entering the interior of the training ground.

“See? This is where we are, and this projected figure is us.”

“Wow… so detailed? Is this real-time movement feedback?!”

The juniors were immediately shocked by the operation before them.

“There’s a delay, but it’s sufficient.”

The girl explained casually and then went straight to the point.

“I asked you to come over to help set up the warnings. This training ground we are in has become our laboratory’s temporary testing site.”

“To ensure that when nothing is happening, no one wanders in here and ruins our experimental progress, we need to set up warning prompts for this area. Simply put, it’s pulling a warning line, but the operation is done on this miniature sandbox.”

After the girl explained a bit, she drew a warning line around the place they were at on the sandbox.

Afterward, a red and striking projected warning line emerged in reality, encircling them.

“This is the reality interaction mode, so don’t mess around, and especially don’t cause some big commotion for me! Although the original practical combat courses for this training ground have already been moved elsewhere, there will always be little idiots who don’t check their messages and break in.”

“Eh? You’re giving this to us?”

“Yeah. Later, I’ll transfer the permissions to your Seeds of Knowledge. I’ll also teach you exactly how to operate it. You just need to be responsible for the site layout and manual monitoring.”

The girl said with a smile.

Actually, after setting up these warnings, this area could automatically identify outside entrants.

At that time, it would be enough to persuade them to leave.

As for the manual monitoring it was just a safeguard.

“Alright.”

“Don’t be so half-hearted. I’ll add more money to your pay after the mission is settled.”

“Yes, senior! We guarantee to complete the mission! We definitely won’t let even a single fly in!”

Hearing about more money, these several juniors immediately gained energy.
