Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Inside the villa.

“Perhaps you should give me an explanation; Dainiel doesn’t seem as dangerous as you say.”

Bai Yu spoke, her gaze fixed on the witch before her.

“It looks like you must have gone to contact her already?”

“Naturally.”

“It seems you are quite confident in the Heart Sense of Body Cultivation. What exactly did you learn from her that would bring you here to doubt my words?”

“If it weren’t for the fact that I can feel your sincerity, I wouldn’t even let you step into this villa. I don’t care if that witch is an Anti-Witch or a traitor witch; as long as she doesn’t have any designs on Little Han, I can’t be bothered to have any contact with her.”

“Meaning that if she becomes a threat to Little Han, you would be willing to stand on the same front as me?”

“That sentence is very ambiguous.”

Bai Yu spoke with a frown.

“But you can feel that I have no ill will, nor am I plotting against the relationship between Dainiel and Little Han.”

Cheryl said confidently.

“Phew...”

Bai Yu took a deep breath and looked up at Cheryl again.

“Tell me your motive. Regardless of anything, Dainiel is currently still a member of the witches. Don’t tell me you’ve already foreseen her betrayal; the project of the Anti-Witch cannot serve as your excuse.”

“Hmm how should I put it... Envy? Don’t misunderstand, I’m referring to her envy. Or perhaps I should put it this way: I never believe in Anti-Witches born within an easy environment. The ’Anti’ in Anti-Witch never refers to the ’anti’ of rebellion, nor is it an excuse for being unwilling to be ordinary, nor is it a pursuit of unique curiosity. Rather, they are a type of misunderstood contrarian. They are a group of giants in thought and, even more so, giants in action—not naughty seekers of uniqueness aimed at satisfying selfish desires.”

“Your words are very sincere, but I cannot simply, based on your one-sided account...”

“Oh no you seem to have misunderstood one thing.”

Cheryl suddenly spoke with a smile, interrupting Bai Yu’s words.

“What thing?”

“I am stating facts to you, but I have never requested you to do anything. Think back, isn’t that right?”

Cheryl shook her hand, hinting for Bai Yu to recall the few times she had contact with her.

From the first time she requested entry into the villa until now...

“...”

“You seem to always hold a guard against Anti-Witches, yet you overlook the sincerity of us Anti-Witches. I am merely providing you with intelligence you were unaware of, and then I am anticipating the reaction you will produce.”

“What is your purpose?!”

Bai Yu instinctively tightened her hand and asked Cheryl word for word.

“Because... you are Little Han’s girlfriend.”

Cheryl spoke with a smile, uttering a sentence that caught Bai Yu by surprise.

And the next few sentences even more so stirred her emotions, which had not fluctuated for a long time.

“It has to be said that your little girlfriend’s Seed of Great Knowledge is truly useful; it let me learn about your past when you were not yet a Transcendent Witch... You haven’t changed at all; you still use your shallow cognition to do what you think is right. It seems to be all for the sake of protecting Little Han? Just like... the first time you learned the concept of Destiny. Acting on impulse, without any progress. A witch like you... is very easy for other witches to utilize.”

***

On the way back.

“As expected, I’m still a bit reluctant to let go of the Self-generating Magic Power project.”

I sighed to myself.

If starting from a rational perspective, I shouldn’t have produced this kind of thought.

Whether it was the matters I needed to be busy with for this project next or that Association Method fellow Hong Chenyi self-created—these were all things that had no use for me.

What I should care about most was the cognition of Self-generating Magic Power!

Only with deeper cognition could I know how to perform more profound modding on it, and then the derivation.

Unfortunately, I currently still have no clue regarding ”Unlimited Magic Power.”

Perhaps only after I completed the Soul Depiction experiments would I have spare time to go deep into the modifications of Self-generating Magic Power.

After casting all these thoughts aside, I took a step into the Dungeon World.

“Hmm? Strange, Big Sis Bai actually isn’t here?”

After only perceiving it slightly, I discovered that Big Sis Bai didn’t seem to be here, even though Big Sis Bai shouldn’t have had any classes today... Maybe she was at the villa.

“Ling Yi isn’t here either?”

I looked up at the massive He Ya Tree.

During this period, this tree had become increasingly lush.

Since that Flower Fairy wasn’t here, she had likely gone out to play.

After all, although the Dungeon World was said to be a world fragment, its size far exceeded what the eye could reach.

So if she ran a bit further away, it would be basically very difficult for me to find her location.

“Fool’s Blue.”

I gave a soft call, and soon several figures darted out from within the flower garden and botanical area on the island in the lake.

“Big Sis Xiao Han.”

“Sigh so fast.”

I picked up Fool’s Blue, who was the first to approach, and then sat on the lounge chair to the side.

I had proactively brought these three Fool’s Dreams here.

After all, in the beginning, they stayed at the laboratory, looked after by the other sisters.

But now that I had left, I brought them with me—that is, to the Dungeon World side.

Incidentally, I let them help me look after the plants here, and they could be friends with Ling Yi, although there was quite a significant size difference between the two.

However, Ling Yi, as someone who also liked to drink Fool’s Dream Drink, quickly established a friendship with the Fool’s Dreams.

Sure enough, the friendship between these innocent little cuties is truly pure.

Moreover, I had specifically arranged a patch of Fool’s Dream Drink fruits over here, specifically planting them in the plant field.

Whether it was the Fool’s Dreams or Ling Yi, they were all very skilled at looking after these plants.

“This time, I finally have time to fulfill my promise to you, Fool’s Dreams.”

I picked up Fool’s Blue with both hands and held her up.

Sure enough, with a cute creature like a Fool’s Dream, absolutely no one can refuse.

“Really! Thank you, Big Sis Xiao Han!”

Fool’s Blue wiggled her body in mid-air, her excited emotions almost impossible to conceal!

That longing to become a life had been deep within the cognition of the Fool’s Dream from the beginning.

Even without memory, this instinct drove her to constantly pursue this possibility.

“Must you say thank you to Big Sis Xiao Han? There’s no need for that. But before that, we still need to do some more experiments.”

I set Fool’s Blue down and, after resting for a while, I pushed open the door and entered the small cabin.

In a corner of this small cabin, some boxes that weren’t there before were piled up.

These boxes were alchemical items similar to storage equipment, but yet somewhat different.

Because ordinary storage equipment could not contain living things, whereas these alchemical boxes could.

The principle was somewhat similar to solidifying Spatial Extension Runes within a house; they possessed an initial space of a certain size inside, and then it was solidified and expanded using spatial-type runes.

Therefore, this type of alchemical item that could contain living things would be much larger than storage equipment and was not convenient to carry, nor could they be nested within storage equipment—unless... you wanted the life inside to die.

Generally speaking, the name of this type of alchemical item was a Beast-Trapping Box.

One could hear its main purpose from the name: it was used to shut in some peculiar creatures.

And these boxes contained some peculiar creatures I had purchased.

These creatures all originated from the Witch’s Secret Realms.

After all, many Witch’s Secret Realms were gifts sent in from outside the Main World by graduated witches, so there were many good things inside that the Main World did not have.

This had also given rise to a large market for extraordinary creatures within the Witch Academy.

Perhaps buyers bought them back to use for dissection, helping themselves understand the unique functions and principles of extraordinary organs; for example, some biological alchemists had a great demand for this.

Some did it to obtain special and fresh extraordinary materials for drawing Transcendent rituals or for use in other extraordinary fields.

And some used them as spell materials for spell summoning or directly treated these extraordinary creatures as contracted magic pets.

As for me... these creatures I purchased were all soul-substance essence lives; they were naturally the best experimental subjects to help me with the Soul Depiction experiments!

Within these Beast-Trapping Boxes, there were very common flesh-and-blood lives, such as a large number of experimental white mice, primate monkeys, birds, and even fish in the water.

There were also less common elemental creatures, such as fire spirits or fire fairies born from the fire element.

I had also seen even more peculiar life forms, but only limited to hearsay; they existed in the Witch’s Secret Realms, but the demand was very small, only supporting the type where one placed orders in advance.

Capturing live specimens required some time, so I hadn’t bought them for now.

But currently, these lives were sufficient for me to practice and familiarize myself with Soul Depiction.

I rummaged through these boxes, looking at the labels on them, and found the one with the largest quantity: ”Cultivated white mice for experimental use.”

One box contained an entire nest of white mice.

Despite holding it in my hands—its edges were only about as long as a cubical box the size of my forearm—who would have thought there would be over a hundred white mice inside?

When I bought them, they said there were about five hundred, and for a moment I felt I might have bought too many, and they also needed to be fed periodically; otherwise, these little fellows might die.

As for putting these animals into the Dungeon World?

Impossible, and absolutely not allowed!

If these fellows were let out, they would be an absolute invasive species.

I didn’t want this place to become a world of white mice.

The other lives wouldn’t work either.

As for how to deal with these lives... to me, they were all consumables.

Death was also the ultimate value they needed to provide for me.

This had nothing to do with pity or sympathy.

I opened the box, and soon several black shadows darted out from it, but before they could escape.

In the next moment, these little fellows were all restricted in the air by a restraint spell of mine.

I ultimately kept only one, and all the extra ones were thrown back into the Beast-Trapping Box by me.

“I didn’t expect these white mice to be so fast?”

I pinched this white mouse I had let out and discovered that the vitality of these white mice was very resilient; they didn’t seem to be ordinary white mice.

“Seems to have undergone bloodline modification?”

I looked at the white mouse and switched hands to pinch the skin on the back of its neck.

Its size wasn’t small either; excluding the length of its tail, its body size even exceeded the length of my palm.

Moreover, its resistant characteristic was also very strong, a huge contrast to the docile white mice in my cognition.

“Surely I haven’t been cheated?”

I restricted it in the air again, its short limbs spread out, leaving only its head and tail constantly wiggling and struggling, and it even let out sharp squeaks.

Afterward, I put a silence spell on it, and the world finally became quiet.

This silence spell could be used even on a body structure like a white mouse.

Of course, I didn’t want to dissect it now, nor did I want to touch its physical body; I only wanted to reach its life essence.

“Does it feel like this will be very cruel?”

I turned my head to look at the three Fool’s Dreams, only to find that they only showed very curious expressions.

“Um... is Big Sis Xiao Han going to do something to them?”

“If I say I ultimately need to kill these fellows, how will you see it?”

“Kill?”

The Fool’s Dreams looked at the white mouse before me.

They lacked cognition regarding death, so they were slightly bewildered.

“It’s okay if you don’t understand. You only need to know that in order to let you become true lives, there are always some necessary sacrifices. And they are using their own lives to pave the road for you to reach the concept of life.”

“Sacrifice...”

“Life...”

The Fool’s Dreams muttered these words and nodded, although it was unknown if they understood these matters.

The reason I suddenly said this to the Fool’s Dreams was mainly to see if they were resistant to this type of behavior; this would decide whether I needed to conduct these experiments behind their backs.

In short, the process of conducting life experiments was impossible to skip.

But fortunately, the Fool’s Dreams didn’t find this unacceptable.

Afterward, my gaze turned toward the white mouse before me.

Rituals woven from runes transformed into a certain special effect.

As my gaze became increasingly focused, the rune rituals transformed from the Soul Depiction technique, plus the power of the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell, also constantly surged.

After all, whether it was the Mimetic Soul or Soul Depiction, all these techniques originated as derivative techniques of the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell.

Once the Soul Depiction technique was complete, I could feel that the soul-substance of this white mouse had fallen into my ”domination.”

The white mouse before me was like a plaything at my disposal, without any ability to resist.

Accompanying the weaving in of the most critical primordial soul rune—this was the miracle forged at the instant soul-substance transformed into a soul when April advanced to Transcendent—it would once again be manifested using the Soul Depiction technique as a carrier!

“Hiss... should this be considered a success?”

A long time later, I looked at the white mouse that was active again.

In my perception, I could feel that this white mouse was different from before; its life essence had transformed and sublimated into a soul.

But this feeling was very strange.

This white mouse almost didn’t seem like a white mouse anymore.

“Memory!”

Very quickly, I figured this point out.

The soul sublimated from soul-substance; its life essence was still this white mouse, but it had transformed from soul-substance to a soul.

This body was still compatible with this soul, but this white mouse would never be the white mouse from before.

Even I couldn’t define whether this was still the original or not.

Maybe... not.

Maybe it was.

But... there was no evidence that could prove it wasn’t the original white mouse, even without its previous memories.

Memory was a type of interpretation that had been eliminated during the Interpretation of Life back then; only the soul could determine that it was still it!

And memory... was the anchor point for anchoring consciousness and cognition, or rather the anchor between reality, society, interactions, and interpersonal relationships.

Is a person with amnesia no longer the person they were before?

This was just a one-sided loss of the anchoring to all original social relationships.
