Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Outside the indoor training ground.

“Is this the place?”

The girls who arrived looked at the massive indoor training ground and instinctively let out such an exclamation.

The surrounding area was under martial law, and virtual warning tapes of the root network encircled it.

Whether it was the information displayed here or the location pins sent out, both told the people arriving that this was their final destination.

When they stepped into this area, information interfaces from the root network and the power network were quickly generated before them.

This was a special type of identity authentication.

“Welcome, tester. Identity confirmed. Please enter the site according to the guidance.”

Accompanying the message text that drifted past like a game prompt, directional arrows appeared in their field of vision.

The Seeds of Knowledge they possessed also popped up information boxes in coordination, prompting them to enter the mission area and detailing what needed to be done next.

List after list appeared like mission logs, making many people feel quite curious.

After all, the promotion of the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree and the Seeds of Knowledge hadn’t been long, and the academy’s utilization of these things was still in the shallow stages of development.

If future mission modes were presented in this way, it would reduce a lot of communication costs, and many things would be clear at a glance.

Of course, to achieve this, the missions needed to be meticulously broken down and set up this way in advance.

However… this wouldn’t be very difficult.

With the Shadow of Knowledge acting as the “butler” for the Seed of Knowledge, many things were actually simple operations, designing systematic and modular mission flows in a subconscious manner.

Now, these students who had arrived early at the experimental site first had to check in after their identities were confirmed, and then they were divided into groups.

Before the formal experiment began, they still needed to undergo comprehensive body data collection and confirm the precautions for this experiment.

What was to follow… was the supplementation of the quantity of Magic Power Sources.

This was a mandatory threshold in the experimental process; ten thousand was just the starting point.

If someone withdrew halfway through this experiment, these Magic Power Sources would have to be recovered.

Since the source of the Magic Power Sources this time was “sponsorship” from the academy, the original Magic Power Source loan plan was directly discarded.

Instead, they were given away.

As the first batch of testers sacrificed themselves for the Self-generating Magic Power experiment in the Witch Academy, they deserved the expenditure of these Magic Power Sources.

Regardless of whether the final result was success or failure, they would not be taken back.

However, this plan ultimately only benefited a few.

Most people who could participate in this experiment already had several thousand Magic Power Sources, and some were simply capped at ten thousand.

Do not look down on these “old fritter” seniors who had spent so much time in the Witch Academy.

Magic Power Sources were fluid things.

If graduating students did not intend to continue pursuing advancement to Transcendent, their Magic Power Sources could be exchanged for a large amount of money or off-campus assets.

It was common for them to live a life without worrying about food or clothing.

“Those who have finished checking in, come to my side. It’s time for the next step.”

At this moment, a girl clearly wearing a white experimental lab coat waved her hand, signaling for the early arrivals to come over.

“Oh! Coming, coming.”

Hearing the senior in the experimental uniform calling them, these people hurriedly followed.

“Since you have come here, you probably have a general idea of what kind of experiment you are about to undergo, right?”

“Probably… We only know that the experiment we are doing can give us an ability called the Self-generating Magic Power talent.”

“A very accurate summary!”

The girl said with a smile:

“Let me introduce myself. My name is Pei Huan. If there is anything you don’t understand during the experiment, just ask me directly. I will try my best to explain it clearly.”

“Pei Huan? You are that Teaching Assistant Pei Huan?”

Suddenly, someone spoke up to inquire.

“Someone actually knows me?”

Pei Huan was a bit surprised.

As one of the few Teaching Assistants in Yi Rui’s team, her fame wasn’t very high.

“I was fortunate enough to attend a class you substituted for…”

“That happened?”

Pei Huan was surprised, but she didn’t dwell on it.

Because the courses her mentor taught were very basic, she was often asked to substitute when things got busy.

“It seems we have some fate, but for now, let’s get to the point.”

Pei Huan took out a stack of parchment.

These were mass-produced Witch’s Contracts.

“This is a Witch’s Contract that needs to be signed before the experiment. Roughly, it requires that you cannot disclose professional information about the experiment during the experimental period, cannot steal our data in any form, and cannot maliciously disrupt the experimental process. If you do not cooperate with the experiment or are passive in following the progress, we have the right to strip you of your qualification to participate…”

Pei Huan explained while distributing the parchment contracts.

“Take a careful look. Once you’ve read it and feel it’s acceptable, sign it.”

“Alright, but please give us some time to look.”

“Seems okay…”

Several people looked at each other and then at the contents of the contract.

In the Witch Academy, reading the full text of a Witch’s Contract was a very normal behavior.

This wasn’t some game disclaimer or agreement where you just ticked a box; a Witch’s Contract had powerful contractual force!

Therefore, no one felt that spending time to read the content was looking for trouble.

However, a few people had already used the quantum speed-reading method to quickly finish reading the content and briskly signed their names.

Soon, the parchment of the contract burned, turning into contractual power to bind them.

It looked like they trusted this experiment very much and did not intend to withdraw; their attitude was very firm.

Pei Huan sat to the side and waited for quite a while.

Once someone finished signing the contract, she guided them to the next segment: supplementing the Magic Power Sources.

After supplementing the Magic Power Sources, the next stage was required: explaining how the upcoming experiment would proceed and using the Witch-transformation Reconstruction Metamorphic Spell on them.

The hurdle that could not be bypassed in the first stage was always the Witch-transformation Reconstruction Metamorphic Spell.

Although the effect of this spell was being transcribed by some into the form of a potion, it was clearly not easy.

Currently, there were no good finished potions that could replace the effect of the spellbook.

Therefore, at this stage, they could only rely on those few spellbooks for this step.

Of course, one could also manually construct the framework of the Witch-transformation Reconstruction Metamorphic Spell and then solidify it on the ground in the form of a spell rune ritual, drawing it as a formation.

But that was far too complex.

Moreover, the total number of participants was only a bit over a hundred.

Five or six Metamorphic Spell spellbooks were sufficient to handle the situation.

This flow continued until nine o’clock in the morning.

Nine o’clock was the time they were notified to arrive.

Only around this stage did the experiment finally enter the preliminary tracks.

I had also arrived here early, putting on the laboratory’s experimental lab coat just like the other sisters.

Actually, such unified uniforms were mainly used to distinguish identities.

Most people were meeting here for the first time.

If the time came and we couldn’t tell who was a tester and who was experimental personnel, that would be quite a joke.

This white lab coat was a standard-issue alchemical item.

With basic dust-repelling and cleaning functions, one could completely ignore the fact that it was white.

I heard it even had defensive power on the level of being knife-proof, and the feel of the fabric was very good.

However, as for the defensive power of that last function… I personally still felt it was quite useless.

Did they really think just anyone could become an academic research witch?

While the sisters in the laboratory couldn’t be said to all be skilled in combat, it didn’t mean they lacked combat strength.

Could one imagine that those who researched spell runes really had no terrifying methods?

Singling out any one of them would allow them to crush a large group of people here.

What they were best at was the modding and derivation of spells!

What did that represent?

It meant they had the ability to make changes to the consumption of a spell.

A single move could be a super-level consumption of a thousand points.

Even a fireball could be manipulated to the size of a building.

Of course, that was only a possibility.

After all, each of them had their own research bias.

The more basic it was, the harder it was to modify.

Especially since the fireball spellbook also had its limits.

But if they used a hundred-point consumption spellbook as a template and modified it into a thousand-point super consumption spellbook, they were still very confident.

“It’s already nine o’clock. Consistent with the final statistical count, there are 147 people. It seems indeed no one was willing to give up this hard-won opportunity.”

Pei Huan submitted the data to me and said.

“Mm-hmm It seems the quality of Millian’s work is still very good.”

I nodded with a smile.

Although Millian wasn’t on-site today, the two girls accompanying me were the others from the Intelligence Group.

They were willing to handle many trivial matters for me.

I scanned the list once more.

A bit of a pity… Lucianne didn’t come.

My four roommates, however, did come.

When I looked up, I saw them chatting about something in the distance, their expressions very excited.

I didn’t need to guess; it was likely related to getting ten thousand Magic Power Sources for free.

The greenness they displayed formed quite a contrast with these high-year seniors.

Among this group of people was also Tan Han; she was here too.

“They are indeed all quite good, Little Han. Now that they have all completed the transformation of the Witch-transformation Reconstruction Metamorphic Spell, we should start teaching the Ritual Battle Dance and the Resonance Method next to lay the foundation for the shaping ritual, right?”

“Yes, it is indeed a slow process. Trying to teach so many people is quite troublesome.”

I nodded and said.

The Witch-transformation Reconstruction Metamorphic Spell only created some fundamental connections between those ten thousand Magic Power Sources and the body and life essence.

In essence, it was no different from Magic Power Sources carried on the Earth Vein Chains.

The most critical parts were the following two points.

The first was the Ritual Battle Dance, which let the body adapt to the Magic Power Sources and laid a solid foundation for the shaping of Self-generating Magic Power.

This was also the prerequisite for the Ten-fold Base Resonance Method and the advanced Micro-control Resonance Method, and even more so the node and threshold for the shaping ritual.

The second was the Resonance Method.

Furthermore, before learning the Resonance Method, they also needed to learn a fast self-rescue technique.

This was an insurance used during the shaping ritual to forcibly terminate it if uncontrollable factors occurred that endangered their lives.

Tan Han had already proven through practical actions that this process wasn’t strictly necessary, but as a form of psychological comfort, we still kept this special step.

Moreover, if someone really courted death and encountered a danger we hadn’t discovered yet, this was also a piece of insurance.

“Speaking of which, Little Han… are you sure you don’t want to voice your thoughts in this situation?”

At this moment, one of the sisters nudged me with her arm and asked.

“I’ll pass. Just let Yi Rui do it. An experiment isn’t a battle; everything should prioritize efficiency.”

I shook my head and said.

“Fine, what a pity.”

“I’ll leave the situation here to you all first. A mentor seems to have arrived over there.”

I turned my head and looked into the distance with some surprise.

Having synchronized with the root network, I naturally clearly perceived the existence of a Transcendent life-level appearing here.

“Don’t worry Big Sis Xiao Han, you can safely leave this experiment to us!”

“Do you need any of us to accompany you, Big Sis Xiao Han?”

“Big Sis Xiao Han doesn’t need our company. You’d better put away your little thoughts.”

“It’s fine. The experiment we are conducting is very eye-catching to begin with. It was expected that a mentor would come. I’ll head over first.”

I also politely declined their company and spoke.

As my figure left this side first, they stopped talking nonsense and began getting to the point.

Yi Rui walked in front of everyone.

With a simple sound-amplifying spell, her voice instantly echoed within this training ground.

“Everyone, quiet down for a moment. After the process just now, each of you has undergone the baptism of the Metamorphic Spell. We know you have some doubts, and I will answer them one by one for you.”

Yi Rui’s voice instantly quieted the people present, and everyone finally focused their attention entirely on Yi Rui.

“Just now, I shared a document to your Seeds of Knowledge. Those interested can look into it yourselves. This is a science popularization document about Self-generating Magic Power. Later, it will also involve the experimental processes you may face. My suggestion is that it’s best if everyone has a general impression of it.”

“And now, after the baptism of the Witch-transformation Reconstruction Metamorphic Spell, the ten thousand Magic Power Sources in your bodies should surely feel a bit different from their previous state. This is a very normal state and a prerequisite for the experiment to continue. So I’ll say it again: you don’t need to worry about this abnormal state.”

“Next, you need to perform preliminary preparations. You need to learn a special Body Cultivation method. Has anyone here had contact with Body Cultivation methods before?”

Yi Rui’s voice spread throughout the experimental site, ensuring everyone could hear clearly.

This was also the first time these people had come into contact with such a large-scale testing experiment.

They understood nothing about Self-generating Magic Power, so they naturally prioritized Yi Rui’s words.

Everyone present might be a bit nervous, but no one felt too much fear.

They weren’t worried at all about any accidents occurring.

Not to mention they needed to learn a self-rescue technique beforehand, there was a mentor watching over from the side, and this experiment also had a special Resurrection Spell as a backstop.

They had no reason to be afraid.

As Yi Rui asked this question, many of the answers also caught her by surprise.

Of these hundred-plus people, more than half had actually had contact with Body Cultivation methods!

Or more accurately, they had had contact with physical arts.

After all, unlike academic researchers like Yi Rui and the others, they leaned more toward the pursuit of Transcendent combat power.

Thus, while spells were their primary focus in battle, some physical arts could also bring them significant improvements.

For example, combat mobility, or close-quarters techniques after a spell transformation—these were all skills learned from Body Cultivation methods.

However, it was impossible for them to devote all their energy to the cultivation of Body Cultivation methods.

Their main focus was still spells; after all, they only needed combat techniques, not the strength of Body Cultivation itself.
