Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

A soul of a dream state…

The reason I had this conjecture was mainly based on the guess born from that “unknown thing” that constructed consciousness.

It was impossible for consciousness to be born out of thin air, and a soul was not the only “medium” that could carry consciousness; soul-substance could as well.

And as someone who mastered Soul Depiction, I was very clear that a connection existed between soul-substance and the soul, which was why one could complete the sublimation from soul-substance to a soul through special means.

Then what was the predecessor of soul-substance?

It was an “extraordinary material” in the real world, or rather, a component of one of the world’s three source elements.

Then, since the consciousness of the Fool’s Dreams was carried within the Primal Dream State, could the concept of the Primal Dream State be seen as… soul-substance of a dream state?

After all, it could give birth to consciousness, even if this consciousness was a Dream Consciousness rather than a Reality Consciousness.

Then could Soul Depiction… shape a dream soul within the Primal Dream State, using the Primal Dream State itself as the raw material?

It would be as if the technique was still the Soul Depiction technique, only the raw material had changed.

If the characteristics of the raw materials were linked, then even if the materials were different, the same thing could be achieved.

Then… if that was the case, I would need a stable area of the Primal Dream State as the raw material to try it out personally.

In this Dungeon World, attempting such an experiment might cause some damage, so this experiment could not be conducted here.

Moreover, I didn’t just need the Primal Dream State as an experimental site and raw material; I also needed dream creatures as test subjects!

After all, I couldn’t bear to use the Fool’s Dreams as experimental consumables.

For an uncertain experiment, dream creatures should naturally be used to fill this unknown pit!

“Little Han?”

At this time, the three Fool’s Dreams—Fool’s Blue, Fool’s Luck and Fool’s Fruit—huddled in front of me and called out to me tentatively.

“Ah sorry, I made you worry.”

I had just snapped out of it.

Looking at the Fool’s Dreams gathered before me, I reached out and smoothed their hair and their bouncy ears.

The soft, supple tactile sensation instantly soothed my mood quite a bit.

“Let’s go see the Academy Head. We should continue our experiment.”

I stood up and spoke.

After all, the experiment I was about to conduct was somewhat beyond common logic; even I was unclear about what would happen.

Using the Primal Dream State as an experimental material…

The last time I heard of an experiment using the Primal Dream State as material was when the Primal Witch used great power to seize a piece of the dream from the Primal Dream State and refined it into the current Primal Dream State.

I didn’t expect that I would reach this step as well, although the commotion of the experiment I was going to conduct was nowhere near as large as that of the Primal Dream State.

After using force to intimidate the extraordinary creatures in the Dungeon World so they wouldn’t go around causing destruction, I left the Dungeon World with the three little Fool’s Dreams.

Now that these three little Fool’s Dreams had the Seed of Great Knowledge and were interfaced with the academy’s root network and power network, they had become qualified assistants who could help me.

They could even use the Floating Spell within the power network to follow by my side, without any fear of falling behind.

Even with spatial teleportation, I could take them with me immediately.

Unfortunately, the power network did not work after entering the Dungeon World because neither the root network nor the power network was laid out there.

And the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree I planted in the Dungeon World has now been renamed the “He Ya Tree.”

Similarly… this tree had returned to its initial plant form, becoming a tree that simply grew very fast.

The reason I did this was because I hoped it could become a mutually beneficial plant symbiotic with the Dungeon World’s earth vein, rather than a blood-sucking plant that only knew how to extract from the earth vein.

The Dungeon World could not withstand the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree tossing it about like that.

Arriving at Academy Head Mei’s office, I symbolically knocked on the door to indicate my arrival.

“Come in.”

After a while, Academy Head Mei’s voice came from the office.

“Oh? It’s Little Han? You actually came over without a word? Is something the matter?”

Mei Linde looked at me and then at the Fool’s Dreams following behind me, inquiring with some curiosity.

“I indeed have something I need to trouble Big Sis Mei with. Is Big Sis Mei still debugging the Destiny Gazing instrument?”

I looked at the Academy Head who had just stopped her work, and then at the Destiny Gazing instrument which had already undergone a great transformation.

I didn’t expect that to perfect this Destiny Gazing instrument, consuming a large amount of time to update its functions, it still wasn’t finished even now?

“Indeed it is truly a bit troublesome without your help, Little Han. After all, you also know that the core of the Destiny Gazing Technique is built upon your information presentation framework of Floating World-level Spirit Vision feedback. We can only use this method to obtain information feedback, while you only need to look to understand enough of what to do.”

Academy Head Mei was clearly still in the middle of her work, and all of a sudden, she had already started analyzing the simple operating principles of the Destiny Gazing Technique.

“So, Little Han, are you planning to come help us? I heard earlier that you left the experimental team for the Self-generating Magic Power project. Do you have other things to be busy with now?”

“Um… I indeed have some things to be busy with.”

I hurriedly nodded.

Although I felt a bit apologetic for not being able to help now, I truly had very important things to do.

“I came here this time mainly to report to you, Academy Head, that my next experimental project might cause some commotion… Additionally, I want to apply to go to the Expansion Realm to conduct the experiment.”

“Oh? What experiment would cause a huge commotion? And why must you go to the Expansion Realm?”

Academy Head Mei inquired with some surprise.

“It’s the Soul Depiction experiment.”

I had told Academy Head Mei about the Mimetic Soul and Soul Depiction back then, so when I mentioned this concept, Academy Head Mei understood the general situation.

“I plan to conduct the experiment within a Primal Dream State environment, and I might need a large number of dream creatures as experimental material during the experiment.”

“Oh? You’ve actually started performing life creation? No wonder you let the Fool’s Dreams follow you. Do you have a lead?”

“Yes, I already have some leads, so I need a large number of experiments to constantly verify my conjectures.”

I nodded firmly and spoke.

“Letting the Fool’s Dreams become true lives is truly difficult. Regarding that agreement I mentioned back then, I didn’t even intend for you to try before you advanced to Transcendent, because the difficulty is too high. Moreover, what you want to do is break the barrier between dreams and reality! Do you understand what you are doing? Are you sure you didn’t just suddenly give birth to this idea on a whim?”

Mei Linde said a lot all at once.

Clearly, she felt it was somewhat unrealistic for me to try to turn the Fool’s Dreams into lives recognized by the Void right now, to the point that she asked several questions in a row at the end.

“I understand what I am doing. I have clearly probed how solid the barrier between dreams and reality actually is, but I am prepared to find a new path to try out a new possibility.”

“Is that so…”

Seeing my expression and tone that didn’t seem like a joke, Mei Linde stopped making things difficult for me on this issue and instead looked at it from another angle.

“But you want to go to the Expansion Realm… are you sure? Every academy has teleportation channels leading there. Although all Transcendent academies have a tacit understanding to let the Expansion Realm develop freely, if it’s discovered that you went there alone, it’s hard to guarantee that no Transcendent will come to assassinate you. You should understand how much those guys want you dead.”

“That is indeed a problem, but over there, I can better come into contact with the Primal Dream State, and the dream creatures there are also the easiest to obtain.”

I said with some difficulty.

On the Core Realm side, the Primal Dream State and reality have already trended toward stability.

Although I can complete local dream overlap through my Domain, this “abnormal state” will be quickly smoothed over by reality; I already tried this back with the Hawthorne Family in Mo Nuo Peng City.

And… dream creatures are almost never seen here in the Core Realm, so this is truly hard to handle.

I was thinking that while the Expansion Realm is in turmoil and dream creatures are still wandering around there, it would be the best experimental site.

“True. According to your words, that is indeed your most ideal place, even if I don’t quite understand exactly what you want to do.”

“So… I can’t go?”

I spoke with some disappointment.

“It’s not that you can’t go. No matter what, the Expansion Realm is our witches’ territory; how could there be a reason why our own student can’t go? However, to prevent unnecessary accidents, it’s best if you don’t go too ostentatiously. It’s best if no one knows you went to the Expansion Realm.”

Surprisingly, Academy Head Mei actually agreed to let me go!

“Really? I guarantee I’ll go silently, and no one will know I went there!”

I promised.

“You plan to go just like that?”

“Uh… yeah? Is there a problem?”

“Didn’t you say you needed to conduct experiments over there? No equipment for assistance? No personnel to help? No need to establish a laboratory to build a suitable environment?”

“Is that… necessary?”

I blinked and asked with some confusion.

I can hand-craft equipment for assistance.

Over in the Expansion Realm, there is an existence where the root network spreads across the entire world!

Personnel assistance?

Who could help me in terms of life and dream experiments?

Someone with that ability would at least have to be a Transcendent Witch, and the kind with deep accomplishments in the Great Project of the Soul at that, to provide me with necessary guidance.

Having such a witch act as my assistant—are you serious?

That wouldn’t be as good as me using my clone technique to shape a clone that shares my thoughts.

As for the special environments like constant temperature and humidity built by a laboratory, I don’t have much demand for those either.

After all, what I need is a Primal Dream State environment; it might not even be certain if I’ll still be in reality by then.

“Hmm…”

Mei Linde covered her face with one hand, having a bit of a headache.

“This is my fault for not letting you taste the sweetness of having fully equipped facilities when doing experiments… You wouldn’t tell me you plan to rely entirely on hand-crafting equipment and using spells and techniques to complete the construction of the experimental environment, would you?”

“Is that not okay?”

“Do you think this is getting lost in the wilderness and doing wilderness survival? Even a Transcendent Witch lost in a special world in the Void—those harsh environments are about the same as yours, aren’t they?”

“……”

Looking at Academy Head Mei’s very serious expression, for a time I didn’t quite know how to explain.

How could I express that… actually, I don’t understand the usage standards for those pieces of equipment, and even if I know them, it doesn’t mean I’m proficient.

So those things are not as fast for me to get started with as the ones I hand-craft myself, and they’re more convenient too.

“Sigh if you insist, I won’t force you.”

Academy Head Mei sighed, then looked at the extra-large Destiny Gazing observation instrument to the side.

Look at this instrument!

It brought the effect of a simple spell like the Destiny Gazing Technique to its extreme!

She originally wanted to say that… but upon thinking that Little Han seemingly didn’t just have the Destiny Gazing Technique, but also the Great Tree of Knowledge and Floating World-level Spirit Vision… when these abilities were combined, they truly didn’t seem worse than this instrument…

This instrument of theirs was a big fellow using the Seed of Great Knowledge as a carrier, the Destiny Gazing Technique as the core, and Little Han’s perfected Floating World-level Spirit Vision information capture technique…

Tsk… as expected, in the most cutting-edge and precise fields, an instrument still can’t compare to a witch herself…

And those who brought this characteristic to the extreme within the witch race were that group of Truth Witches.

“Do I need to notify Ninglan Qiuyue? Although the fewer people who know you are in the Expansion Realm the better, Ninglan Qiuyue can provide you with great assistance there.”

“How about just letting her know? But as for using her convenience, I’ll pass. If I really have a request, I’ll go find her myself.”

“That works. You also said just now that your experiment might cause a huge commotion, right? Notifying her will prevent them from not understanding what the situation is when the time comes.”

Academy Head Mei also nodded in agreement with this plan.

“Then it’s settled?”

I asked tentatively.

“Yes, I will notify her, and I will make sure she won’t spread it unless necessary.”

Mei Linde nodded and then looked at me again.

“While there is still some time, I can chat with you a bit more. Do you have anything else besides coming to report this matter proactively this time?”

“Other things?”

I tilted my head.

This time was mainly to tell the Academy Head so as to avoid causing a commotion that would be hard to wrap up.

As for other things, I really hadn’t thought about it.

After all, I was occasionally the type of person who thought of things one by one as they came.

But if I really had to ask, I did have some questions I wanted to ask.

“Um… I have some doubts I want to understand. I wonder if the Academy Head can enlighten me?”

“Ask. If I know, I’ll tell you. Is it related to helping those little fellows, the Fool’s Dreams?”

“Yes.”

I nodded and said: “Big Sis Mei, do you have experience in creating brand new lives?”

“No, I’ve only tried, but the life created was not a brand new race, just a living being.”

Mei Linde shook her head and said.

“So regarding the Fool’s Dreams becoming true lives, I have no way to provide you with any help. Furthermore, there is no precedent for the Fool’s Dreams’ situation. I can only say, if you don’t know what to do, perhaps… you can try to understand the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell, after all, it is closely related to the Fool’s Dreams.”

“The Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell, huh…”

I nodded.

I had always been learning about this Grand Spellbook, although my understanding of it until now was indeed only partial.

From the Fool’s Dreams’ Primordial Runes at the start, to the Enlightenment Meditation Method, then to the sequence derivation, the Great Wisdom Weaving Seed, and it also came with the derivative technique of Wisdom Bestowal.

Including the cognition of the soul, as well as the Mimetic Soul and Soul Depiction, these were all closely related to the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell.

So regarding the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell, I truly have delved deep into understanding it.

“Yes, this Grand Spellbook definitely has many secrets, but this is not my area of expertise. Even including shaping it into a Grand Spellbook, I only understood its shallow knowledge, reaching the threshold to shape it into a Grand Spellbook, and even that was completed under your revelation.”

“I built the platform of the spellbook; I hope you can make use of it.”
