Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

When this training ground of the academy temporarily became an experimental site, the news quickly caused quite a stir on the academy network.

After all, this matter occupied an indoor training ground, and many lower-grade courses were temporarily transferred elsewhere.

These students were naturally curious about what the original training ground was actually being used for.

The speed of information transmission on the internet was always much faster than expected.

Combined with the unintentional spreading by some freshmen who temporarily took on missions for part-time work, this current situation was created.

Of course... the main reason was that in a place like the Witch Academy, any slight movement would attract curiosity.

After all, the academy network was merely the internal network within the Witch Academy.

Those who learned of and attached importance to this news were always the student groups with the deepest roots in the academy.

Not long ago, they had learned about the Joyful News notification released by the academy system and the related news about Self-generating Magic Power.

They were still worried about having no place to obtain intelligence.

Because the notice mentioned that ”Teaching Assistant Yang Yuehan,” Millian’s communications were nearly blown up that day.

As for contacting that Teaching Assistant Yang Yuehan directly?

They did not have that kind of face, or rather, even if they did contact me, I simply wouldn’t pay them any mind.

Now they knew that a venue here had suddenly become an experimental site, and those with connections could also check the reporting information here to find that it was an experimental site related to Self-generating Magic Power.

Therefore, they immediately sent people here to understand the situation.

This was one of the reasons why people often came here to ”scout the area.”

At the same time, the recruitment for missions at the site also attracted many high-year students.

Regarding this, our side accepted them all.

After all, we didn’t mind people inquiring about the venue and some basic conditions here.

Furthermore, after taking on the mission, they would sign a Witch’s Contract.

Crucial experimental data would definitely not be lost or stolen.

As for everything else... they could inquire as they pleased.

If they could actually research and understand it thoroughly, I would even admire them for being qualified academic researchers.

And what I feared least was sharing results with such people.

”Oh is it already this busy and bustling?”

While work was underway at the site, a figure appeared here.

She was like the most eye-catching scenery in the crowd; one could tell from her temperament and style alone that she was not a student.

”Hello, Mentor!”

”Hello, classmate. Seeing how busy you look, are you also a student of that laboratory?”

”Uh... no... I actually just took on a mission to help out here... uh?”

Facing this unfamiliar mentor, the girl scratched her head somewhat embarrassedly, but when she looked up again, she found the other party had already walked far away.

”Hiss... this mentor is so cold...”

”Maybe she just purely looks down on us. We can’t compare to seniors like that. Workers should accept a worker’s destiny. Time to go.”

At this time, another girl passed by and patted her best friend quite casually.

”There are more things to move over there. I heard they are all laboratory-grade beverages, mass-produced with alchemy potion-grade ratios and techniques. I heard we can snag a few bottles. I’ve wanted to taste them for a long time.”

”Wait... is there really that much to a bottle of drink? Hey, hey wait for me! Grab one for me!”

After the two left, this arrived mentor also found the laboratory team personnel here.

”You must be the team members of that little witch Yang Yuehan, right?”

”Yes, we are. You must be a mentor, right? I wonder why you’ve come to find us...”

”Oh, I am the accompanying mentor for this experiment. It’s my first time doing this too. I heard you were doing something incredible, so I came over specifically.”

This witch mentor also began to explain quite enthusiastically.

”Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. You can call me Mentor Dainiel, or Big Sis Dainiel is fine. Speaking of which, which of you is Xiao Han?”

”Hello, Big Sis Dainiel.”

”As for Big Sis Xiao Han... well, she’s quite busy. We are mainly responsible for the site here... Eh? Big Sis Xiao Han seems to be over there!”

”Oh? Is that so? Then I won’t disturb you.”

The witch Dainiel looked somewhat surprised in the direction the girl was pointing, and then she said goodbye quite decisively.

She simply left those two standing there.

”As expected, it’s still Big Sis Xiao Han who deeply enjoys the favor of the mentors in the academy.”

The girl sighed a bit as she watched the departing back.

”This mentor also has quite a personality. It’s hard for us to even get a few words in with her. Indeed, I am more suited for quietly doing experiments alone.”

”Isn’t Big Sis Xiao Han also doing experiments? One can only say your level isn’t up to par yet.”

The girl said with a smile.

”I heard that this time Big Sis Xiao Han doesn’t plan to participate in the entire duration of this experiment. She left this opportunity to us. This is a great chance for us to show our skills!”

”Really? I have to say, spending time with Big Sis Xiao Han actually brings quite a bit of pressure. That... the kind of pressure where you can’t help at all is simply too suffocating!”

”You have that feeling too? What a coincidence. Me too. I reckon only Big Sis Yi Rui can communicate with Big Sis Xiao Han without obstacles. Sigh, I’m envious.”

”Who isn’t?”

After these few girls chatted for a while, they began to get busy again.

After all, today was a full day of free time, enough for them to set many things up.

Then tomorrow, they could directly start the preliminary experiments.

This speed and efficiency could be described as very fast.

According to them, all of this was learned from Big Sis Xiao Han.

Let people who find meaningless things meaningful do them; you only need to do your own job well.

This was a very good trick for planning one’s time, and they agreed with it very much.

Thinking this way, they once again ordered around the juniors who had come to take on the mission.

Since they were paid anyway, if they felt it wasn’t enough, they could just add more.

Belonging to the same team, expenditure at the level of ordinary coins was not something they needed to consider.

And at this moment, the witch calling herself Dainiel also walked toward me under the direction of those few girls.

”Hmm? Hello, witch sister. Is there something I can help with?”

I looked at the relatively unfamiliar witch before me and confirmed that I indeed had no impression of her.

I did not rashly use the Earth Vein Appraisal Spell to identify her.

”You are Xiao Han, right? You are indeed different from those students. Let me introduce myself, I am Dainiel. You can just call me Big Sis Dainiel.”

”Hello, Big Sis Dainiel.”

I also responded quite politely.

”I wonder why Big Sis Dainiel has come to find me?”

”I’ve come over to be the safety mentor for the Self-generating Magic Power promotion test experiment. Actually, I was just called over as a laborer. If you encounter anything uncontrollable during the experiment, just find me.”

Dainiel said very seriously.

”So that’s how it is. Then please take care of me regarding the matters to follow, Big Sis Dainiel!”

After gaining a general understanding, I hurriedly thanked her.

Although I knew very well that the experiments at this stage basically wouldn’t have any major uncontrollable accidents, having an insurance policy would also make many people feel at ease.

”Of course I will take care of you. I have heard of your deeds quite a few times, Xiao Han. I must say, you are truly a genius to the point of being a bit envious.”

”Actually, I’ve only done what I thought I should do.”

I said modestly.

”Excessive modesty will make you attract even more hatred than showing off, you know? You should change that too, Xiao Han.”

Dainiel said with a smile.

”Is... is that so? Then I will pay more attention in the future.”

I hurriedly corrected my attitude.

Actually, this didn’t seem to be the first time I had been told this by a witch, but I hadn’t really changed much until now.

Maybe my essence was the type that was even more self-conceited than prideful?

And this self-conceit, due to a matter of perspective, had transformed into modesty.

But regardless, there was nothing wrong with being a bit modest in how one conducted oneself, and there was nothing wrong with being a bit aggressive in how one did things.

”Truly a good child who is willing to listen to advice. Speaking of which, what were you doing just now, Xiao Han?”

”Just now? Hmm... I went to apply for the usage permissions of the root network and power network for this site. To conduct experiments here and organize so many people, some special means of management are always needed.”

”Shouldn’t you just let someone else do such a small thing? Was it necessary to go yourself?”

”Well I was idle anyway.”

I said quite casually.

Since the Soul Depiction I wanted to do at this stage couldn’t be rushed, I also found a task for myself to do, incidentally letting myself relax while organizing the information recently collected by the Great Tree of Knowledge.

The information within the Great Tree of Knowledge was very messy and the volume was also quite massive.

This also made me urgently realize that my Great Tree of Knowledge had indeed reached a step where it needed further perfection.

”Then that means you are quite free now, Xiao Han.”

”Yeah. Is there something you need me for, Big Sis Dainiel?”

Hearing her say this, I instinctively felt there was something she wanted to trouble me with.

”Of course not.”

Dainiel gave a light laugh and said, ”I just wanted to chat with you, Xiao Han. After all, the topic of Self-generating Magic Power currently has quite a lot of heat among our group of Transcendent Witches. Also because of you, many witches have become interested in Self-generating Magic Power, and some have even established temporary research groups to see if they can achieve some other successes, but...”

”They found nothing?”

I tentatively followed up.

”Exactly! They found nothing! It’s truly miraculous!”

Dainiel said with a slightly exaggerated laugh.

”So I really can’t figure out how your brain has grown, Xiao Han. I really want to open it up and take a look.”

”Ah, this... Big Sis Dainiel, don’t say such terrifying things with such a straight face!”

I complained.

”Alright, I’ll stop teasing you. But I did indeed come over this time wanting to discuss the topic of Self-generating Magic Power with you.”

”Are you also interested in Self-generating Magic Power, Big Sis Dainiel?”

I looked at her with some surprise and inquired.

”Oh! No, no, it’s not like that. I’m not talking about academic discussions, but something else.”

Dainiel shook her head and said.

”Um... something else? What is it?”

”For example... the impact and changes brought by a technique like Self-generating Magic Power that can be widely promoted. You should know, Xiao Han, that a brand new, disruptive technique will always stir up a huge vibration!”

”I... suppose so?”

”It’s not ’suppose so,’ but ’definitely’! Have you ever thought of such a hypothesis, Xiao Han?”

Dainiel asked.

”What hypothesis?”

”This is a hypothesis regarding you humans. That is, if primates learned to use human tools, do you think that would be a good thing?”

”I suppose it wouldn’t count as one...”

I shook my head, but I understood Dainiel’s metaphor.

Wasn’t this talking about us, as non-Transcendent Witches, obtaining the ”credential” of Transcendent Witches?

Self-generating Magic Power was the hallmark of a Transcendent Witch.

And I had pulled its threshold down to the level of Reserve Witches in advance.

Then the vibration would trigger at the level of Transcendent Witches...

”It looks like you are very smart, Xiao Han. You figured it out instantly, right?”

Dainiel said with a very happy smile.

”Then... are there also witches in the Witch Academy who oppose the spread of this technique?”

I inquired carefully.

”How should I put it? The witch race is very inclusive. They can even accommodate eccentric existences like the Anti-Witches and acknowledge them as their own kind. Therefore, among witches, there are all sorts of strange, or personality-distorted, paranoid, and even crazy witches. I can only say I can’t guarantee anything... You seem to be protected too well by Academy Head Mei and there is even a little girlfriend who is already a Transcendent Witch willing to protect you?”

”Um... I indeed am... But regarding Self-generating Magic Power, even the Academy Head agreed...”

I said with some hesitation.

”But that is merely the will of that Academy Head.”

Dainiel gave a light snort and laughed, seemingly not intending to continue this topic.

”The topic we are discussing seems to have become a bit too heavy, doesn’t it? Truly sorry, let’s stop mentioning this matter.”

”Actually, it’s fine. Also, thank you, Big Sis Dainiel, for letting me notice this aspect of things. I had truly never thought of this before.”

I said to the witch Dainiel with some gratitude.

This made me think of the group of Anti-Witches.

If there really were stubborn witches who wanted to stop everything I was doing, then I seemed to understand the mindset of the Anti-Witches a bit.

Those old fogies and paranoid fellows... just thinking about them could add a shadow to my good mood.

Thinking of it that way, I hadn’t encountered such a witch until now, nor had anyone secretly tripped me up.

Did that Anti-Witch also deserve a lot of credit?

After all, that was an Anti-Witch!

Even Academy Head Mei would frown when facing such an existence.

If some paranoid witch obstructed me for such a ridiculous reason and was targeted by this Anti-Witch, the loss would outweigh the gain.

”It looks like even if such a witch really does exist, you don’t intend to stop, right, Xiao Han?”

”Yes.”

I nodded firmly and said.

”Then what do you care about? Aiyaya I already said let’s not mention this. Let’s talk about other things. Are you confident about this experiment, Xiao Han?”

”I do have confidence. Actually, at this stage, the construction ritual is the final hurdle. But the construction ritual is essentially similar to the shaping ritual and...”

”Don’t mention those to me. I don’t understand them, and don’t expect me to. So you should still stop showing off this professional knowledge in front of me, Xiao Han.”

Dainiel interrupted me and said, ”Let’s talk about something else, something more relaxed. For example... Hmm, for example, some of your past experiences? I love listening to the stories geniuses adapt about their rise to power. Since you could rise so quickly, Xiao Han, you must have your own secrets, right? Why not chat with me about it?”

”This... alright. But my experiences might be quite boring. Being able to get to where I am today, luck also played a very large part.”
