Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Over at the training ground that had been temporarily converted into an experimental site, there soon was no longer any need for me to continue busying myself.

And I personally felt that staying here any longer would be a bit of a hindrance.

Therefore, seeing that the conversation between Big Sis Bai and the witch Dainiel had mostly concluded, I took the opportunity to say goodbye to the witch Dainiel and subsequently left the place.

“Big Sis Bai, why did you suddenly come here today.”

I spoke up to raise the topic, knowing the answer but asking anyway.

“Naturally… it was to come and see you, Little Han. You’ve caused quite a stir these past two days, so I came over to take a look out of concern. It seems this trip was not in vain.”

Big Sis Bai said with a smile.

“Not in vain? What do you mean?”

I quickly caught the meaning in Big Sis Bai’s words and inquired.

Could it be that there really were some unstable factors here?

This instantly made me recall the topic Dainiel had discussed with me, regarding that group of witches who did not wish for Reserve Witches to master Self-generating Magic Power or meddle with the power of Transcendent Witches.

“I mean it literally, of course.”

Big Sis Bai said with a smile, then pulled me along and brought me into the Dungeon World.

Although I am the only one with permissions for my Dungeon World, Big Sis Bai had set a spatial marker here, so I was very easily brought inside.

And this also proved from a side perspective that if there were spatial markers left by others in the Dungeon World, this place would essentially be that person’s back garden!

“Hi Little Han, and Little Bai.”

Just as we entered the Dungeon World, I heard the voice of Ling Yi.

At this moment, Ling Yi had already made her home atop the large tree named the He Ya Tree.

Under the careful tending of my Transcendent Primordial Crystals and the Flower Fairy, this tree was growing very rapidly and healthily.

And the “Little Han” and “Little Bai” she spoke of referred to me and Big Sis Bai.

“Ling Yi we’re back. You seem to be doing fine, looking quite idle?”

I teased Ling Yi.

“As if! I have very important things to do. There are so many plants in this stretch of heaven and earth that need my care. If only my sisters were here… sigh… let’s not mention it.”

“Is that so? So Ling Yi is actually working so hard every day? Then here is a fruit as a reward.”

I sought out an elven fruit and tossed it over.

The fruit was not large, and Ling Yi used a neutralizing force in mid-air to steadily catch and hold it.

“Wow! Thank you, Little Han. Hehe, then I won’t disturb you two.”

Ling Yi held the fruit and flew directly toward her tree hollow.

After spending these days together, Ling Yi also knew that Big Sis Bai and I often needed some private space, so every time she saw the two of us entering together, she very tactfully left.

And occasionally, she would receive a feeding of Transcendent fruits from me.

Naturally, with her being so sensible, we also gave her a lot of “compensation,” such as the seeds of some rare Transcendent fruits.

She had been nurturing them very carefully recently, though unfortunately, these seeds did not grow as rapidly as the He Ya Tree.

Pushing open the small wooden cabin on the island in the lake, the atmosphere inside the house already had a very warm feeling of domestic life.

In fact, Big Sis Bai and I rarely went to the villa to rest nowadays, living over here instead.

Furthermore, it was safer over here in the Dungeon World, and there wouldn’t be some Anti-Witch suddenly appearing.

Returning here, only here could I feel a sense of security from being home.

I undid the first button of my collar and sat on a nearby lounge chair without maintaining any formal posture.

“Big Sis Bai, should you tell me now? Over there, who exactly was planning something against me?”

“If I said it was that Dainiel, would you believe me?”

Big Sis Bai also spoke as she sat casually on the edge of the bed.

“I would believe you.”

I nodded, then froze for a slight moment, and finally felt relieved.

The witch Dainiel had given me a decent first impression.

To be honest, she was similar to the witches I had contacted before, like the witch Chris who was naturally familiar with everyone.

However, in the middle of our conversation, I could only say that the feeling she gave me was indeed strange, but the perception belonging to my Heart Sense was not as bad as I had expected.

“Little Han, you actually just blindly believed the answer I gave?”

“Of course. Big Sis Bai wouldn’t lie to me on this issue, right?”

“Was there not even a hint of hesitation?”

“There was, I suppose… that bit of feeling originating from instinct. At least in my Heart Sense, I didn’t feel any malice from her toward me.”

I spoke to explain.

“Is that how it is? Actually, it’s the same for me.”

Big Sis Bai also spoke frankly.

“So… how exactly did you reach this conclusion, Big Sis Bai?”

“Hmm… how should I put it?”

Big Sis Bai spoke with a bit of trouble, “Although saying it this way is a bit forced, the project Dainiel follows is the Anti-Witch Project.”

“The Anti-Witch Project?!”

Hearing this statement, my voice instantly rose by a large margin!

After all, this answer was simply too shocking!

As expected, I should have taken the risk to use the Earth Vein Appraisal Spell to take a look back then; otherwise, I wouldn’t be so ignorant about the other party.

“It is only the Anti-Witch Project, not an Anti-Witch. Anti-Witch is a title for a certain group of witches; not every witch walking the path of the Anti-Witch Project is qualified to be called an Anti-Witch.”

“I know that! There are many other standards, one of which is slaying a traitor witch; only then can one be considered a formal member recognized by that group.”

I supplemented.

“It looks like you still remember it very clearly, Little Han. And Dainiel is such a witch. She has not yet obtained the title of Anti-Witch, but her degree of danger is actually no less than that of an Anti-Witch.”

“No less than an Anti-Witch, huh…”

I recalled that Anti-Witch named Cheryl; I felt that there seemed to be absolutely no comparison between the two…

“Little Han! Do not underestimate any Transcendent Witch. I know that in front of that Anti-Witch named Cheryl, Dainiel is completely incomparable, but no matter how poorly she performs, she is still a Transcendent Witch! The gap between Transcendent and non-Transcendent is not an arduous hurdle to cross, but an insurmountable chasm!”

This time, Big Sis Bai’s voice was somewhat stern, and her expression was very serious, lacking her previous ease and sounding nothing like a joke.

“Um… I understand.”

Seeing such a serious Big Sis Bai, I also hurriedly nodded.

It seemed this matter was indeed somewhat grave.

“It’s good that you understand.”

At this moment, Big Sis Bai’s tone also relaxed, no longer as serious as before, “Then tell me, Little Han, what exactly was that Dainiel chatting with you about earlier, how about it?”

“What we chatted about… hmm…”

I also thought back on the content we had discussed earlier and summarized it a bit.

Ultimately, I found that the content I described at the time was very cluttered, “Basically, she was interested in my experiences from after I entered the academy until now. I only described them to her roughly; it was impossible for me to tell her many details without any reservations like that.”

“Did you only chat about that?”

“Also, she told me about some things to pay attention to, which were topics about how if I were to promote Self-generating Magic Power, I might receive obstruction from the level of Transcendent Witches.”

“She actually told you that?”

Big Sis Bai seemed very surprised that I suddenly mentioned this.

“Yes, that’s right. Big Sis Bai, you are also a Transcendent Witch. In the current Witch Academy, is it true that, as the witch Dainiel said, there are witches who do not wish for Self-generating Magic Power to be promoted to the non-Transcendent level?”

I inquired with some curiosity.

I was really too curious about this question.

No matter how I thought about it, as long as I possessed a hint of malice to foresee, such a statement would hold true.

But this group of witches… would there really not even be a hint of malice lingering between witch and witch?

I really found it hard to imagine such an existence, and this kind of racial form made it impossible for me to speculate.

“There are… but there certainly won’t be many. At least I haven’t heard such voices of opposition until now. However, such a thought will certainly be hidden deep within the heart of some witch, unwilling to be exposed.”

Big Sis Bai first nodded, and finally shook her head as she spoke.

“Then does Big Sis Bai feel that the promotion of Self-generating Magic Power is a good thing or a bad thing for the witch race?”

“It is definitely a good thing…”

Big Sis Bai said instinctively, “Perhaps even I do not know the answer. I do not understand the concept of the witch race much more than you do, Little Han. Much of my cognition regarding the witch race stems more from feelings and instinctive feedback. But the technique of Self-generating Magic Power is your lifeblood, Little Han; I certainly feel that it is a good thing.”

“Since when did you also view problems from such multiple perspectives, Big Sis Bai?”

I asked with a smile.

“Was it not learned from you? Viewing problems objectively, giving objective responses, and then giving the subjective answer of my own heart in a way that aligns with my own cognition. It’s very interesting… problems responded to in this way often yield completely contradictory answers…”

“Alright.”

I sat upright from the lounge chair and then looked at Big Sis Bai, “It looks like the matter is a bit more complicated than we expected… Big Sis Bai, do you think during this experiment, there will be witches who trip us up?”

“Many witches are monitoring this experiment in secret. After all, it’s not like the experimental area where entry is restricted. Therefore, if a witch wants to pull some small stunts, it is absolutely impossible.”

“In that case, I am actually quite safe.”

“But you still can’t let your guard down!”

Big Sis Bai also gave a timely reminder.

“I know.”

I nodded, and then I spoke as if I had suddenly thought of something, “Right, Big Sis Bai speaking of which, I don’t seem to have ever dealt with targeted pressure and suppression from enemies at the Transcendent level. Big Sis Bai, could you let me experience what it’s like to battle an enemy at the Transcendent level?”

“Battle an enemy at the Transcendent level?”

Big Sis Bai repeated the words in confusion.

“That’s right.”

I nodded and spoke, “Experiencing it in advance that way, I can have some experience in dealing with it. I absolutely trust you, Big Sis Bai, so let me try.”

“Fine… it seems if you don’t try, you really won’t give up on the idea…”

Big Sis Bai looked at my eager appearance and shook her head as she spoke.

However, this was indeed a very good suggestion.

The current situation was truly not safe at all.

Although Big Sis Bai knew that Little Han had means of preserving her life below the Transcendent level, if she was careless and lacked experience in dealing with the Transcendent level, a mistake could occur, and that would be an irreversible tragedy!

***

The next day.

After completing my daily meditation and cultivation check-in, I arrived early at the experimental site.

Yesterday, Big Sis Bai and I went back early.

At the end, I brought up the idea of sparring with Big Sis Bai.

And Big Sis Bai directly allowed me to have my wish.

Furthermore, the spar took place within the Dungeon World.

According to Big Sis Bai’s explanation, a fragile world fragment like the Dungeon World could not withstand the full deployment of power from a Transcendent like her, but that didn’t matter.

Big Sis Bai did not intend to use her special methods, but only very conventional ones.

And the purpose of doing so was to tell me that even a Transcendent Witch who did not utilize a Magic Power Source, had no spellbook, knew no physical arts, and knew nothing at all—merely by relying on her Transcendent level—could be incredibly terrifying!

And the reality was indeed exactly as Big Sis Bai had said; Transcendent was like an insurmountable chasm, dividing Transcendent and non-Transcendent into two categories of existence.

Merely by manifesting the life-pressure of the Transcendent level, Big Sis Bai made it difficult for my self-awakened Body Cultivation strength to withstand!

And that was only the initial clash before everything ended.

Even if I utilized my Domain to reshape the space belonging to my order, Big Sis Bai still maintained that pressure of the Transcendent level.

Ultimately, I was still suppressed by Big Sis Bai in a crushing manner.

Even if Big Sis Bai did nothing and allowed me to attack—though I was a bit reluctant to strike—after truly striking, I discovered that… the undying nature of the Transcendent level and the undying nature of the non-Transcendent level were completely two different things!

I have confronted and fought many enemies at the Teaching Assistant level who possessed an undying nature, but I have never lost.

However, when facing Big Sis Bai… I lost.

Furthermore, Big Sis Bai perfectly displayed everything before my eyes without any reservations.

She was even willing to let me observe that the Transcendent life-level was constructed based on “True Time”…

Precisely because I cannot touch the real True Time, I essentially possess no means whatsoever that can kill an enemy at the Transcendent level.

It was like two dimensions of life; Big Sis Bai was located between True Time and False Time, the free architecture of her life was built upon True Time, whereas I stayed forever in False Time, unable to touch the true essence of life.

Only my talent of Spirit Vision allowed me to glimpse a corner of that True Time.

So-called power, so-called spells, and so-called means—before being able to touch that, everything appeared completely useless.

And this was the lower limit of the Transcendent level; even an infant born Transcendent would be extremely lethal to people at the non-Transcendent level.

This was the lesson Big Sis Bai taught me, which was to make me rein in that impetuous heart.

Only the level determines the height.

This accumulation of mine can certainly soar into the sky, but before reaching Transcendent, one is ultimately an ant (weak).

And this was also the reason why Big Sis Bai urgently hoped for me to advance to Transcendent; nothing was more important than advancing to Transcendent.

Big Sis Bai knew my talent, but the strength brought by blindly immersing myself in such a talent advantage was all a false strength.

Only by advancing to Transcendent would all of this transform into the most lethal of means!

My advancement to Transcendent would not become a burden to these talents; these talents would only become even more feared by enemies!

Therefore… from today onward, I became a bit more restrained.

Perhaps it was because I had felt the gap so intuitively that I needed to move forward in a low-profile manner.

And today was the day of the small-scale promotion experiment for Self-generating Magic Power.

Even Tan Han, due to progress issues, was here with Yi Rui performing corrections for the “perfected ritual.”

But the protagonists today were destined to be those 147 test subjects.

They had come here with hearts full of expectation!
