Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

The witch Dainiel seemed very interested in my experiences from the time I entered the Witch Academy until now.

She insisted on pulling me into a conversation for quite some time.

Although I already had a full understanding of the witches’ enthusiasm and tendency to be familiar with everyone, I still felt a bit uncomfortable with a witch like Dainiel, who talked about such deep topics during our first meeting.

It was the kind of feeling where ”I am not familiar with you, but you are very familiar with me,” which felt weird.

And I also once again confirmed that I, this Lesser Witch, truly seemed to be an existence frequently mentioned within the circle of Transcendent Witches.

It wasn’t that this was bad, but it would make anyone a bit uncomfortable to be constantly mentioned by witches like that.

Just as I thought this situation was going to continue, Big Sis Bai’s sudden appearance immediately extricated me.

Although I was a bit curious about why Big Sis Bai appeared here, I could probably guess after thinking about it.

Not long ago, I mentioned this matter to Big Sis Bai, so she probably wanted to come over and see me.

Since Dainiel and Big Sis Bai were both Transcendent Witches, they started chatting as soon as they met.

And I was very lucky for Big Sis Bai’s arrival; otherwise, I would have been so embarrassed that I wouldn’t have known what topic to talk about next.

Talking more about my past... it would really turn into a tedious account.

Furthermore, it wasn’t as if I truly had nothing to do.

I still had quite a lot of my own business to attend to, such as notifying my roommates about the location of our experimental setup and the start time.

Then there was the communication with Millian.

After all, trying to put together Magic Power Sources in units of tens of thousands at once was also not a small amount; it required exchanging with many clubs.

Moreover, I also heard Millian say that because our experimental site was public, many clubs or groups were constantly getting in touch with her, hoping to obtain more specific information about the Self-generating Magic Power experiment.

Because the concept of Self-generating Magic Power had been proposed, more students and Teaching Assistants had now passively come to understand what kind of ”terrifying thing” this actually was.

But once they understood what it truly was...

It had to be said, this ability to break through the ten-thousand Magic Power Source limit simply made their eyes turn red with envy!

They wished they could have been among that batch of people for the small-scale experiment!

And when they further learned through what channels these ”experimental volunteers” were screened, it made them feel even worse.

Millian, who was coordinating with this experiment, had screened them directly from the Support Group, and she had also pointedly avoided many students who were scions of famous families.

This immediately caused dissatisfaction among many people, and some voices of condemnation began to surface on the academy network in a short time, but most were suppressed by people from the Support Group.

Only the ordinary students, who didn’t know much about anything, were left looking bewildered on the academy network.

They always felt like certain sections of the academy network were talking about things they couldn’t understand—things that felt very impressive yet impossible to get involved in...

However, the people from the families were also somewhat wary of this experiment.

While they were greedy for the effects brought by a physique like Self-generating Magic Power, the fact that this technique was held in the hands of that ”Teaching Assistant Yang Yuehan” also gave them a headache.

A problem of trust stemming from the families was also something they had to face.

What if, through the optimization of this technique, they ended up being turned into Transcendent Witches?

Moreover, this experiment and the April incident were very close in timing; without understanding anything, they would also develop the illusion that April was promoted to Transcendent under this very technique.

Even if it wasn’t, the panic over the unknown would make the people from the families hesitate.

With such sugar-coated bullets, they had no confidence that those who ate them would be able to spit the bullets back out.

But if they didn’t follow this trend... then in the Witch Academy, the difference between a student with the Self-generating Magic Power body talent and an ordinary student would be like the difference between a modern person and a primitive one!

Furthermore, that Teaching Assistant Yang Yuehan, who had always made them very wary, possessed exactly this kind of talent.

If this talent were promoted on a large scale... it was hard to guarantee that a second or third such existence wouldn’t appear in the academy.

Currently, it was already difficult enough to deal with one such Teaching Assistant in the Witch Academy.

If more such people appeared, the thought of that situation alone made their scalps tingle!

The families would completely lose their influence over the academy!

However, these were matters that those families needed to consider.

For many things, as long as they were successfully promoted and the momentum built up, no one would be able to reverse the development of such events.

After handing over the current experimental materials at the laboratory with Millian, I realized that many items in this batch of supplies were supported by the Witch Academy.

Including the Magic Power Sources we had a high demand for at the start; most of them were provided by the academy.

When the people from those clubs learned that once someone learned the Magic Power Source condensation technique with the Self-generating Magic Power talent, they could condense them independently, it felt like the sky was falling.

In other words, the value of Magic Power Sources in the Witch Academy would plummet in the coming period and would only warm up after some time.

As for the plummeting, it was because the monopoly held by the academy’s Transcendent Witches, who were the only ones able to condense them, was broken; information taken out of context would create panic as it spread.

And for the value of Magic Power Sources to recover... it would also require more people to accept this fact and realize that Magic Power Sources were actually far from reaching the point of being ”overflowing”; in fact, they would become even scarcer for a long time afterward.

Because once a person possessed Self-generating Magic Power, the Magic Power Source limit they could carry would infinitely approach one hundred million!

So theoretically speaking, those Magic Power Sources hoarded in the Witch Academy were far from reaching the point of ”overflowing.”

It would only take one or two people possessing this talent to exhaust all the idle Magic Power Sources hoarded in the entire academy.

Therefore, the value of Magic Power Sources would be re-evaluated within the academy and might even increase in value again.

But this kind of prediction regarding the value of Magic Power Sources wasn’t something everyone could see clearly; it required a very thorough understanding to grasp that fleeting opportunity.

After all, this required understanding two concepts.

The first concept was ”Self-generating Magic Power + Magic Power Source condensation technique” allowed one to independently create Magic Power Sources.

And the second was ”Self-generating Magic Power can carry a limit of one hundred million Magic Power Sources.”

Any one piece of news would cause a massive stir regarding the value of Magic Power Sources; after all, the Witch Academy wasn’t the larger world outside the Void, it was a market game within a single world.

And this was just the value fluctuation of Magic Power Sources; many other market conditions would also be affected along with it.

For the sake of this Self-generating Magic Power experiment, Millian had also approached many clubs stating the need for a large number of Magic Power Sources, but the effect was minimal.

Many even wanted to exchange Magic Power Sources for intelligence, but they were politely declined.

In the end, it was the academy that provided a large amount of material support; after all, this was a laboratory project approved by the academy officials, and its importance was self-evident.

So Millian was currently light as a feather, not needing to bicker with those clubs, which naturally made her happy.

Although this was what she was originally good at, it didn’t mean she liked playing this kind of game with those fellows.

After all, if one wasn’t careful, it could be an abyss; who knew if the next group would set a trap for her?

Returning to the present.

In addition to these Magic Power Sources and other materials, Millian also specifically re-organized a list of personnel participating in this experiment for me.

And the final number was confirmed at this moment and entered into the root network.

A total of 147 people.

And among them were quite a few people I knew, such as my four roommates, as well as the Teaching Assistant Lin Yi and Teaching Assistant Liffia whom I met during the final exam proctoring.

I remembered there was a third person back then, who seemed to be an alchemist named Edaline, but I wasn’t as familiar with her as I was with that pseudo-catgirl Liffia.

I also asked Millian why Edaline wasn’t there, and the response was that she seemingly didn’t have time, so she politely declined.

The vast majority of these were high-year seniors, so the four from my dorm still appeared somewhat prominent among this group.

But who could blame them for having such a wild path of connections?

One could only say this was good luck.

Moreover, I discovered that quite a few of these people seemed to be Teaching Assistants!

Scanning them slightly, many were the types I had no impression of.

However, since they were ultimately chosen by Millian, she surely had her reasons.

Furthermore, if they were unwilling to cooperate, or if I felt such a person was unsuitable to participate in this experiment, we also reserved the right to unconditionally strip them of their status and qualifications as experimental personnel.

”Big Sis Xiao Han, speaking of which, do you usually not go on the academy network much? And you don’t really manage your Teaching Assistant account?”

After finishing these matters, Millian suddenly opened her mouth to ask me.

”Pretty much,” I nodded and admitted.

”The hostility on the academy network is too heavy; I don’t want to see those irresponsible words posted without thinking, being swayed by emotions.”

”Actually, the current academy network isn’t like before where anyone dared to post malicious rumors about you at will, Big Sis Xiao Han. There’s really no need to always keep an eye on these bad sides,” Millian also hurriedly advised.

She naturally knew that the Little Han before her didn’t play on the academy network.

That account was immaculately clean, with only a few posts or status updates casually made back in the day; currently, there wasn’t a single trace on it.

No one knew what this Big Sis Xiao Han was actually doing usually.

But even so, Big Sis Xiao Han’s account still had a massive number of followers, which was quite terrifying.

”So you are advising me to play around with this academy network?”

”Actually, everyone is very curious about what your daily life is like, Big Sis Xiao Han. And aren’t you planning to promote Self-generating Magic Power? With the current number of followers on your account, Big Sis Xiao Han, this is an excellent dissemination channel. Moreover, you have the Support Group to escort you, Big Sis Xiao Han; no one would dare post any maliciously disparaging comments under your account.”

”I don’t really care about those comments smearing me; I was already able to ignore such outdated methods last year.”

I opened the Great Tree of Knowledge and flipped through my few accounts and spaces.

”But as for what to post... I’m truly not quite sure...”

”Actually, there are no rules for this kind of thing. With your influence, Big Sis Xiao Han, even if you just follow your own style, others will praise you for having personality,” Millian explained from the side.

”Is that so? Then how about I post a science popularization introduction about Self-generating Magic Power?”

”Uh... this...”

”It really won’t work, will it?”

”Actually, it’s not that it won’t work, it’s just that with your definition of science popularization, Big Sis Xiao Han, you might reveal too much important intelligence, and might even unintentionally cause impacts like the value positioning of Magic Power Sources. After all, your current influence is truly not small, Big Sis Xiao Han...”

Millian recalled when the rumor spread that Big Sis Xiao Han was in a relationship with a Transcendent Witch and used that relationship to become a Teaching Assistant—that alone could inspire a large number of love-brained fellows to boldly confess to their own mentors... Thinking about it was truly mind-blowing.

”That’s true...”

I pondered for a bit, then directly took a photo on the spot.

”Then it should be fine if I post about my daily routine, right? Incidentally letting them know not to run here if they have nothing to do, as it only causes us trouble. How many fellows have already come here to interfere with us today?”

”This... should be okay...”

Millian wiped her sweat.

”But if that’s the case, are you sure it won’t cause even more people to come here to watch?”

”That seems likely... watching the fun and joining the crowd is the nature of witches after all...”

After searching for a bit, I thought of something else.

”Then let’s do this: tell them not to come near here. We’ve applied for the root network in this area and interfaced high-permission appraisal spells for experimental data observation. If anyone maliciously intrudes, they will be identity-marked, and their privacy might be leaked?”

”This works. After all, when it comes to things like privacy, no one would dare joke with that,” Millian nodded in agreement with my approach.

Since they all wanted to watch the fun, then if they would all have to pay a price, they would behave and listen.

After I finished editing this, I directly posted it to my status and then ignored it.

I’ll check it whenever I have free time; maybe it can even cure diseases like low blood pressure.

”Millian, speaking of which, you should have notified all these people in time, right?”

I redirected the topic to the personnel participating in the experiment this time.

This was 147 people!

And this wasn’t even counting the number of those sisters from the laboratory; they would be the first batch for testing and demonstration.

”Yes, they have all been notified, including your four roommates, Big Sis Xiao Han,” Millian nodded.

She was also quite familiar with those four roommates.

She had been in contact with them back in the Expansion Realm; after all, they had Big Sis Xiao Han’s summoning name card!

At that time, that thing was a qualification that could save her once!

So Millian and those four roommates were also considered to be in a friendly relationship, barely.

It had to be said that Millian was still very envious of those few fellows.

They could become this former roommate, and Big Sis Xiao Han was even willing to honor the sentiment of that relationship; it was simply a god-tier opening!

Compared to that younger brother in name, it was simply a complete reversal.

”Is that so? That’s good.”

However, to ensure no accidents occurred, I also personally edited a message and posted it in the dorm group chat.

”Speaking of which, you still have business to attend to, right? Recently, until the experiment is over, we won’t be staying over at the laboratory anymore. So there’s no need for you to do everything personally here. The most important thing for me now is the Soul Crystals; just handle that well. I won’t ask about the rest.”

”Alright, then I’ll have the people from the Intelligence Group help you here. What do you think, Big Sis Xiao Han?”

Millian inquired.
