Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Yi Rui’s experiment proceeded according to expectations.

Starting from the very beginning with the Self-generating Magic Power Construction Ritual, with a magic power source limit of exactly ten thousand units, she completed the layout and outlining of the Construction Ritual as precisely as possible.

I also witnessed Yi Rui’s perfected Micro-control Resonance Method.

This was a customized product based on her personal situation, designed specifically to raise that tiny bit of possibility.

In fact, this small margin of difference didn’t have much impact during promotion.

Yi Rui had stayed at this stage for a very long time, so she was most familiar with it.

As for the re-shaping of the brand-new Construction Ritual, no accidents occurred.

It was just that, in coordination with the Witchified Ritual Battle Dance and the Micro-control Resonance Method, a significant amount of time was required to adjust her own state and the ritual to their optimal levels.

Everyone watched this process of Yi Rui’s very seriously, because this stage was likewise a problem they would have to face later.

Up to this point, no problems had appeared in any aspect, and I personally didn’t sense any anomalies either.

It seemed that in this step, Yi Rui had already reached a state of absolute confidence.

I silently stepped forward.

Yi Rui’s gaze subconsciously met mine, and with a simple nod, there were no more words.

Because we knew what to do next.

That was to begin the architecture of Self-generating Magic Power.

According to the limit of what Yi Rui and the others could understand, it was being architected upon their own life essence.

However, I knew very well that, in essence, it was being architected upon the Witch species concept.

Only such Self-generating Magic Power, after ascending to Transcendent, would directly link to the Transcendent Witch species concept, completely perfecting the Transcendent Witch version of Self-generating Magic Power.

Therefore, whether it was the successful Tan Han or the currently proceeding Yi Rui, the essence of the Self-generating Magic Power they architected was different from mine.

I had first perfected the “Prototype Self-generating Magic Power” through self-awakened Body Cultivation, and then architected it upon the Witch species concept.

And this had resulted in my “Self-generating Magic Power,” “self-awakened Body Cultivation,” and “Witch species concept” forming a triangular architecture, giving birth to a more complex totem effect.

But they were different; they needed to architect it upon the Witch species concept from the very beginning.

There was no other way.

So even if they perfected it, if they didn’t ascend to Transcendent, it wasn’t the same “Prototype Self-generating Magic Power” as mine.

Rather, they would perfect it to an ultimate threshold, and they would need to ascend to Transcendent to continue its complete perfection.

Once perfected, it would be the Transcendent Witch version of Self-generating Magic Power.

The difference between the two was that mine was staged, while theirs went straight to the predetermined position in one step.

This was exactly the reason why I had told Tan Han before that those so-called derivative concepts I researched could not be applied to them.

Because they had no “prototype,” let alone a foundation, so how could there be talk of derivatives?

Therefore, self-awakened Body Cultivation was the threshold, a complete and utter threshold.

It was the foundation for constructing a prototype detached from the species concept, possessing infinite potential for development!

As expected, the deeper one’s cognition, the more one can discover how valuable those previously unremarkable abilities truly are.

Yi Rui’s Architecture Ritual was continuing.

This was an experimental demonstration belonging to Yi Rui, so even I was only acting as an assistant.

But being an assistant didn’t mean it wasn’t important.

An assistant often needed to play the role of a warning for error correction and a margin for error at the most critical moments.

Just like now, I performed an emergency remedy for Yi Rui’s operation.

Fortunately, it was salvaged.

Cr-crack——

A slight sound was particularly piercing in the laboratory, which was so silent that no one dared to make a sound.

The source of the sound was on my neck.

At this moment, I was establishing real-time communication with Yi Rui through the Mind Spell.

The greatest advantage of this spell was the near-transparent interaction of thoughts, directly skipping verbal expression for cognitive communication on a conscious level.

“Focus. The alchemical item on my neck has sustained some damage, but don’t pay too much attention to it. That small mistake you made just now was quite serious. I didn’t expect this mistake to be so hidden. Normally, my clones in the laboratory haven’t helped you correct it; it might be a deviation in understanding caused during teaching combined with an issue of your personal cognitive oversight.”

“Sorry… the next step should be like this, right…”

Yi Rui apologized simply, but the current emergency wouldn’t allow her to conduct too much self-reflection.

She needed to constantly link the next step of the ritual architecture, so there was no need to waste each other’s time and energy through the Mind Spell with unnecessary nonsense.

“Be a bit more confident. That was just a small mistake. Don’t be so nervous that you need to ask me for the next step. This is an experiment that you are leading.”

I encouraged.

As for the matter of the Misfortune Silver Coin… I didn’t tell Yi Rui.

From what just happened, the effect of the Curse of Misfortune seemed to have already taken effect, and it was acting upon me.

However, the source of the misfortune was blocked by the collar on my neck.

This indirectly proved Trixie’s experimental hypothesis: the misfortune medium of the Misfortune Silver Coin and the Curse of Misfortune after severing the Earth Vein Chains originate from the same source.

The effect of the Curse of Misfortune had taken effect on me, meaning the price had been paid.

However, the price and the effect were not equivalent concepts.

So the collar on my neck couldn’t defend against the price for me, but it did bear a certain effect for me.

And this effect was certainly terrifying.

One must know that I have been wearing this collar until now, and the curse the World Consciousness cast down upon me hadn’t managed to damage it in the slightest.

And now, for just one error correction—one where I even provided timely salvage—this alchemical collar that suppresses misfortune actually made an abnormal sound.

This truly shocked me.

But another thought gradually emerged in my mind as well.

When the time comes, I must find that witch alchemist master, Natalie, to specifically refine an extremely powerful alchemical item for me that resists the Curse of Misfortune.

If that’s the case, perhaps this Misfortune Silver Coin could become a permanent tool for me.

Absolute probability within the world!

This is even more heaven-defying than a Child of Destiny who is favored by the World Consciousness.

What an alluring power.

Although it also has its limits, it can solve the vast majority of problems within the world level.

The experiment was still continuing.

The difficult point of the Architecture Ritual was still there.

For reserve witches, the transformation of their own life essence through witchification was not yet complete, thus the resulting Witch species concept was not perfect enough.

And this was one of the reasons why the Architecture Ritual was so difficult.

But after having the extreme comparison between Tan Han and Yi Rui, I found that the gap between the two was still very large.

First was the issue of witchification progress.

Tan Han had entered the Witch Academy for just over a year, while Yi Rui was already an upperclassman about to graduate.

The degree of perfection of the Witch species concept between the two was different.

So theoretically, Yi Rui’s Architecture Ritual was easier than Tan Han’s, but the difference wasn’t much.

What’s more, Tan Han also had Destiny protecting her.

But Yi Rui’s treatment this time was actually about the same.

This time, with the Transcendent item as a medium and me bearing the price, who says reversed Destiny can’t be an aid?

However, since constructing Self-generating Magic Power gets easier the closer one is to Transcendent…

Then does this really have meaning?

Many people might feel that it’s just a matter of waiting a few years to ascend to Transcendent, that there’s no need for so much trouble, and that after being busy for so long, they’ve only gained an ability they were destined to have anyway.

This was indeed a problem.

But… people move from weakness to strength, from ignorance to knowledge.

This is a process, and it cannot be omitted.

If one believes they have seen the end and feels that the journey is meaningless, then such a person not only misses the beauty and differences of the journey but also loses the foresight and determination for further progress after arriving at the destination.

Power is obtained through exploration.

At least I don’t feel that obtaining Self-generating Magic Power is meaningless.

If a person can’t figure that out… then let this be a screening.

Just like some people feel that everyone will die anyway, so why work so hard?

When someone asks this question, those who disagree shouldn’t go and explain it to the other party, but rather choose to leave.

This is a screening between people.

“Pay attention!”

Suddenly, I subconsciously spoke out to remind her, even bypassing the Mind Spell and making a sound directly.

In the next moment, the collar on my neck suddenly shattered.

The alchemical runes on it directly fell into chaos and conflicted with each other.

Only the leather parts still had slight connections.

With one hand, I caught the broken collar sliding down from my neck while stabilizing the Architecture Ritual inside Yi Rui’s body.

Clearly it had reached the final moment… as expected, problems would still arise?

Although I had anticipated it long ago, after truly experiencing it, I still felt very helpless.

But as for whether it failed…

Of course not!

At least the current Curse of Misfortune was still within the range of what I could bear.

The Curse of Misfortune is not simply having bad luck.

Its essence is the repulsion of the world towards an individual from outside the world who has detached from the world’s operation.

Only after reaching the Transcendent stage can the essence of life at that level ignore this kind of regularized pressure.

So, at this moment, I suddenly felt as if I were drowning.

A sense of pressure far exceeding that of the past made me somewhat unable to catch my breath.

Back when I severed the Earth Vein Chains, there wasn’t this kind of pressure.

Although I didn’t feel very comfortable back then, the current me was far beyond what I was in the past.

The sense of pressure was different from the suppression of a life level.

Even relying on the power of Body Cultivation, I could only manage to feel a bit better, but I still couldn’t ignore the influence caused by misfortune events at the source.

“Don’t worry about what’s happening to me, focus on your own situation!”

I explained a sentence as I met Yi Rui’s confused gaze.

After adjusting my own state, I continued to fulfill my responsibility.

“Yes, keep maintaining it like this until it stabilizes, and then it will be a success.”

“Success?”

Yi Rui repeated these two words.

Her obsession in this regard was evident.

I didn’t expect Yi Rui would have such a side.

“Yes… it will succeed.”

I nodded firmly and said.

After having the mature “Perfection Ritual,” if one wanted to know whether the Self-generating Magic Power body talent architecture was successful, one only needed to give it a try.

As long as one reached the point where magic power interference could be ignored for observation under the Perfection Ritual, it would be enough.

But… the person encountering trouble now was me.

I could feel that my collar had just borne the effects produced by the vast majority of the price in that instant.

And now I could feel this sense of pressure gradually trending towards leveling off, reaching the level of a normal Curse of Misfortune.

This basically meant that this matter was a success.

“Xiao Han, are you okay?”

At this time, Mentor Belica stepped forward first to inquire.

“I’m fine, it’s just that the collar is broken.”

I shook my head and said.

“This collar…”

Belica looked at the collar in my hand.

As a Transcendent Witch with a “slight” understanding of alchemy, she could probably guess the function of this alchemical collar.

Even if she didn’t know, she could use the Earth Vein Appraisal Spell to obtain information.

“I’ll just go and ask Academy Head Mei for another one later.”

Anyway, this kind of Curse of Misfortune wasn’t very serious; it would only bring some inconvenience to my life.

But this kind of inconvenience couldn’t last too long, otherwise, it would easily provoke personal emotions.

After all, having everything go poorly is an infuriating thing for anyone.

“Is there a need to trouble yourself to go find her?”

At this time, Academy Head Serina walked over.

As a veteran witch, she naturally couldn’t have not seen alchemical items that suppressed the Curse of Misfortune, though it had been a long time since she had seen such things.

“Am I not an Academy Head too? That fellow Mei Linde—what kind of style is she giving? She had to give a collar. This thing is a symbol of servility…”

Clearly, as a veteran witch who was not favored by Anti-Witches, Serina still had a certain lag in her ideological concepts.

After all, in her view, collars were things worn by slave armies.

Since when did they become ornaments worn on clothing?

“Uh… actually, I don’t mind too much…”

I said hurriedly.

“……As you wish.”

Serina glanced at me.

Regarding my words, she ultimately didn’t say anything more but handed over a woven bracelet.

“Same effect. It takes effect as soon as you put it on.”

“Thank you, Academy Head Serina!”

I thanked her hurriedly.

Regarding the gift from the Academy Head, I naturally had no reason not to accept it.

Furthermore, refusing would simply be asking for trouble.

“There’s no need to say thank you to the Academy Head.”

Academy Head Serina shook her head, as if this matter had been moved past.

“Let’s talk about the Self-generating Magic Power. Does this count as a success?”

“The initially born Self-generating Magic Power is almost impossible to observe directly……”

“It’s a success.”

At this time, Yi Rui’s words interrupted my intent to speak at length.

Although it was only three words, they were filled with all of Yi Rui’s current joy and excitement.

After finishing, Yi Rui naturally used the method of detecting Self-generating Magic Power that I had taught her earlier at the first opportunity.

She gazed at the magic power fluctuations before her, which couldn’t even condense a single standard unit of magic power, excited to the point of being nearly unable to restrain herself.

If it weren’t for the Academy Head and Mentor Belica being here, she would have even excitedly celebrated with the group of sisters regardless of her image.
