Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

”I truly envy that little witch. Before even achieving Transcendent, she already possesses two full Grand Spellbooks.”

As Transcendents with not much interest in academic research or the Primal Dream State, idle chatter became the only thing they could do at this moment.

This sudden accident had directly turned the standoff between the major Transcendent academies in the Expansion Realm into a joint research effort.

Though each academy was, of course, essentially just doing their own research.

The contradictions between the top-tier academies and the Witch Academy were irreconcilable; they naturally would not share the data they collected and their own research for free like that.

Even if the Witch Academy possessed an innate advantage in soul essence, that did not mean they lacked other means.

Not only were the Transcendents of the Wizard Academy, who were renowned for scholarship and knowledge, involved, but even the Abyssal Nightmare Academy poked a finger in.

Even if the Expansion Realm was not authorized to the Demon Academy, the Abyssal Demons had a promise of immunity from prosecution for invading the Expansion Realm.

Moreover, those they sent were the rare Abyssal Nightmare Demons, and since they did not violate the principle of Transcendent non-interference, it could be said that the demons handled this aspect with extreme precision.

As time passed, after seeing the operations of the Abyssal Nightmare Demons, the Wizard Academy also pulled over a batch of students to this place, making them cooperate in collecting data and assisting with experiments.

”You Wizard Academy folks are truly ruthless enough not even sparing your own students, sending them directly as cannon fodder?”

At this moment, a witch from the Witch Academy’s side spoke in mockery, showing no avoidance of the students they had called over.

And upon hearing those words, the complexions of those students changed repeatedly.

After all, no one wanted to become cannon fodder, much less go to their deaths!

Although the rewards promised by the Wizard Tower Lords were very generous, one had to have a life to enjoy them!

”Hmph, it is merely a dream; one will not truly die. Have you all not already experienced the dreams of the Expansion Realm long ago? You aren’t even willing to take a bit of a risk?”

”If you are unwilling, there are plenty of apprentices in the academy who are!”

The Wizards were clearly avoiding the heavy and focusing on the light at this moment, substituting the concept of the Primal Dream State with the previous dream overlap in the Expansion Realm.

But dream overlap and the deep layers of the Primal Dream State were two completely different concepts!

Regardless, the Wizard Tower Lord who spoke to rebuke them was right—the Wizard Academy was full of madmen!

And there were plenty of people willing to do it!

So-called rationality was merely a type of research attitude in the academic field, but Wizards themselves were very crazy existences.

Of course, the prerequisite for madness was that the risks could be transferred.

And the students in the academy were another type of madman they deliberately cultivated for the purpose of transferring risk.

Perhaps only after they became true Transcendent Wizards would they understand the darkness within this.

And with the Wizard Academy taking this lead, the other Transcendent academies were also pondering whether they needed to do the same.

First was the issue of profit, and then the issue of their own image.

Elves and Holy Angels were races with very heavy ”burdens”; even if they knew very well themselves that they weren’t any good, they still had to put up a front.

In contrast, over on the Witch Academy’s side, Mei Linde remained as steady as Mount Tai.

As the busiest Academy Head of the Witch Academy, she naturally knew how to distinguish what was important.

The danger of the Primal Dream State was absolutely not something an average student could bear; even Transcendent Witches had to handle it with care.

Mei Linde looked at the massive Dual-Tree Structure in the distance.

They still stood stably within the framework of reality, indicating that Little Han’s current state was still very ”optimistic,” according to conservative estimates.

As a witch who had once held a Grand Spellbook, she was naturally clear that a Grand Spellbook could provide a user with a certain amount of help within the Primal Dream State.

Although not much, it was like offering charcoal in snowy weather, preventing one from being completely without the power to resist.

Little Han had two Grand Spellbooks, plus that [Transcendent Knowledge] she hadn’t asked back for yet, which meant Little Han could at least borrow three portions of power!

However, [Transcendent Knowledge] that had broken away from the framework of a Grand Spellbook could not be used within a dream, and its power would return to essence and concepts; she had experienced this point before.

But she didn’t know if it was an illusion, but Mei Linde suddenly felt that this ”experimental accident,” which was sufficient to be called a ”Dream Calamity,” did not seem to be guided by a fuse.

Instead, it appeared to be dominated from start to finish!

Among these, the most irrational point was that staircase extending from reality into the dream; this was clearly not a creation that could be formed by a natural dream calamity.

It had to be a special concept maintained by someone, used to anchor the relationship between the dream and reality.

But... she could not think of anyone who had such ability.

This was the Main World!

How did she not know there was still a witch with such means and accomplishments in the Primal Dream State?

Could it be... Little Han again?

Mei Linde narrowed her eyes slightly, looking at that figure located in the very center of the Primal Dream State.

Just now, a witch who approached the central area of the Primal Dream State’s descent sent back shared information through a Seed of Great Knowledge.

Little Han’s body had no fluctuations of consciousness, nor any soul perception; it was clear she had been caught into the Primal Dream State without a doubt.

So... now her problem has shifted to another form.

That was whether she believed that all of this was caused by Little Han.

If she didn’t believe it, then they would need to find a way to rescue Little Han; if she chose to believe... This choice itself was a difficult choice for them.

Not long after, Mei Linde received another piece of news.

Both the Aphrodite Academy and the Holy Angel Academy had opened student channels; they ultimately chose to let their students take the risk.

This was originally an inconsequential piece of news.

What did how they chose to do things have to do with the Witch Academy?

But clearly... these top-tier academies similarly wanted to drag the Witch Academy into the water.

Not long after the students from the Holy Angel Academy and Aphrodite Academy arrived in the Expansion Realm, the news of the Expansion Realm spread to the Witch Academy.

Many top-tier academies gathering together in the Expansion Realm was bound to be a very significant event.

Many students, including some Teaching Assistants, were also inquiring about this matter.

And they expressed a desire to participate in the events of the Expansion Realm.

Originally, the Witch Academy did not plan to pay any mind to these students.

After all, from a historical perspective, the Witch Academy never cared about the thoughts of students.

The so-called pressure from students was useless to the Witch Academy.

Until...

”Why not let those fellows who are shouting the loudest come over? They are willing to make sacrifices for the witches; we should fulfill their wishes.”

The one who said this was Cheryl.

As an Anti-Witch, it was simply not surprising at all that she could say this.

”……”

”I know you care a lot about your students. But having stayed in the Witch Academy for quite some time now, I’ve found that some fellows have no intention of becoming Transcendent Witches from start to finish. What is the point of keeping such students?”

”The ones who are wrong are not them, but the Earth Vein Chains. This is a problem of the Main World, but time will slowly pry it open.”

”A boring excuse.”

”Not as boring as you, anyway.”

A brief few sentences of conversation instantly made it impossible to continue the topic.

But not long after, the Witch Academy’s side also lifted the restrictions on students.

All at once, topics about the Expansion Realm reopening spread crazily on the academy network, and there were a massive number of posts with news from other Transcendent academies constantly flooding the screen.

It had to be said, in terms of the degree of control over the student body and the ability to manage internet trolls, the families’ control in this aspect was still very well-manipulated.

As for who the families listened to, that remained unknown.

Regardless, a dog without a master will wag its tail and stick out its tongue for anyone, as long as that person is willing to give it a bone.

And did those students of the Witch Academy not know the dangers of the Expansion Realm this time?

Many of the well-informed ones among them actually knew.

But they didn’t care.

All they cared about was ”opening the entry channel to the Expansion Realm,” because having tasted sweetness, they knew the Expansion Realm was a gold mine where one could pick up money just by bending over!

Risks were not worth mentioning in the face of profit!

Because they had no concept of the Primal Dream State; they still believed it was just an ordinary dream overlap.

After all, a person cannot feel fear toward something they have never seen.

***

Time had also passed for several days from when the Primal Dream State erupted in the Expansion Realm until now.

During these days, the harvest of the various Transcendents was not very much.

After all, when they conducted experiments at the Transcendent level, they frequently needed to use years of the Main World as units.

This was not just a simple stereotype, but a type of norm within their cognition.

Yet in just these few short days, a massive number of students had already been trapped within the Primal Dream State.

And their bodies simply lay at the place where the Primal Dream State descended in reality.

Only a few bodies were brought back, while more were exposed there, with no one daring to go.

Even if such people were killed and then resurrected, they might not necessarily wake up, because their consciousness had already dived into the deep layers of the Primal Dream State.

And this state was called Dream Consciousness Banishment.

In the Wizards’ research, this was also called the Primal Dream State Consciousness Sealing Sorcery.

This was the Wizards’ worldview.

They delved into Truth to obtain higher-level means, not to broaden the theories of cognition.

Theory was guidance provided for sorcery means, not a truth used for inheritance.

Therefore, if a Wizard truly died without a disciple to pass on their teachings, then that Wizard’s knowledge would be completely lost.

Subsequent Wizards could only rely on delving into parts of the knowledge from their sorcery notebooks, sorcery tools, and casting mediums.

The Wizards’ high regard for knowledge led them to not allow knowledge to be spread wantonly like that.

Even if a Wizard died, he would not let his knowledge be easily obtained by others.

Insane Wizards might even leave puzzles within their notebooks to screen for Wizards who could inherit their legacy.

Accompanying more and more students falling into ”slumber” over these days, those students finally began to truly face the horror of the Primal Dream State.

But they had no choice, especially the students of the Wizard Academy.

In contrast, on the Witch Academy’s side, although it was similarly not very optimistic, the number of students deeply trapped in the Primal Dream State was not very large.

However, the number of Transcendent Witches who had plunged into the Primal Dream State was so large that Transcendents of other academies felt... as if the witches had all gone mad.

As the Academy Head, Mei Linde’s complexion was similarly not very good.

Even though she knew very well that those witches trapped in the Primal Dream State made their own choices and no amount of persuasion would change anything, she still felt very bad.

Although every witch had the protection of the Primal Witch, once consciousness fell into the Primal Dream State, it was extremely difficult for even a clone of the Primal Witch to help retrieve it.

The Primal Witch would never leave the Witch World’s Great Library; this had become a consensus of the Void.

Therefore, the only ones who could save them were the clones of the Primal Witch.

But this really relied on luck, as the clones of the Primal Witch were not omnipotent either.

If the protection given to every witch by the clones of the Primal Witch were truly omnipotent... then it would be the races of the entire Void who should be afraid.

But Mei Linde felt that what should be paid more attention to right now was Bai Yu.

If those previously trapped witches were an interpretation of the witches’ spirit of exploration and she couldn’t talk them out of it, then for Bai Yu to impulsively charge into the Primal Dream State would be purely seeking death.

However, when Mei Linde found Bai Yu, she discovered that the other party’s mental state... seemed quite good?

”Academy Head Mei? Why have you come?”

Bai Yu seemed a bit surprised by Mei Linde’s arrival.

”I naturally wanted to come see you. After all, no one wanted Little Han to encounter such a thing... I came mainly hoping you won’t do anything rash.”

”Is that so? Then you may be worrying too much, Academy Head Mei. Little Han right now... should be doing quite well.”

Bai Yu’s tone hesitated slightly, and then she spoke.

”I... um? What did you say?”

Mei Linde was about to speak but found Bai Yu’s words were not quite right.

”Little Han... is quite well? How do you know?!”

”Through the Seed of Great Knowledge.”

”The Seed of Great Knowledge?!”

Mei Linde instantly stood up in excitement.

”The Seed of Great Knowledge can contact Little Han right now?!”

Without another word, Mei Linde directly tried to establish contact, but found there was no response.

This was not the academy network communication interfaced with the Seed of Great Knowledge, but a communication completed through the sharing of knowledge and information between a Seed of Great Knowledge and the Great Tree of Knowledge.

”No response...”

Mei Linde looked at Bai Yu in confusion, seemingly waiting for an explanation.

”The relationship between my Seed of Great Knowledge and Little Han’s Great Tree of Knowledge is unique and special... After all, it crosses reality and the dream state; I’m not too clear on the details either.”

Bai Yu shook her head and spoke.

”Even the connection between Little Han and me cannot achieve real-time communication. Hearing Little Han’s explanation... it might be related to the temporal concept distortion of the Primal Dream State.”

”Then... then where is Little Han now? How is she? Can she come back? Exactly what happened in the Primal Dream State, why would it...”

Mei Linde inquired anxiously.

”There are too many questions at once...”

Bai Yu was also dazed by Academy Head Mei’s string of questions, but she still managed to respond to them as best she could.

”Little Han told me... she seems to be in a special dream state called Fool’s Village right now. She is very well and getting along very happily with the Fool’s Dreams. As for returning... She said she still needs to stay there for a while to research the Primal Dream State and concepts like dream-state soul-substance.”
