Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

”Hmm?”

I looked at Aina in confusion, somewhat curious about what exactly she had thought of again in this short amount of time, but I still told her the reason truthfully.

”Because I can communicate with the outside world through the Great Tree of Knowledge.”

”What? The Great Tree of Knowledge can even communicate with the outside—”

Aina stopped mid-sentence, suddenly realizing that the Great Tree of Knowledge was a Grand Spellbook.

As a Grand Spellbook made from [Transcendent Knowledge] that could exert its effects in the Primal Dream State, was it really not that difficult to achieve such a thing?

However, Aina had never used a Grand Spellbook, so she naturally didn’t quite know to what extent a Grand Spellbook could perform within the Primal Dream State.

But even if she knew a lot and curiously sought verification from me, I could still provide her with a satisfying answer.

Because the Great Tree of Knowledge itself was an integrated Grand Spellbook that used the concept of ”Knowledge” as a carrier to process Information, the ”reconstruction” of this Grand Spellbook within the Primal Dream State was also the fastest and most convenient.

”Sorry… I might have been overthinking just now, thinking I was in a special dream world constructed by my memories in the Primal Dream State…”

After all, regarding the concept mentioned earlier about a ”Dream Domain”… she still instinctively felt it was a bit too dreamlike.

”So that’s how it is? The Primal Dream State is indeed very treacherous and complex; maintaining vigilance is truly very important.”

Having understood the cause of her vigilance, I was also very understanding.

After all, the deception of consciousness and cognition by dreams was simply too terrifying.

However… with the deepening of the Great Project of the Soul, the understanding and cognition of dreams by the soul essence would gradually allow one to distinguish between dreams and reality, so situations where one was in a dream yet unable to distinguish it would basically not occur.

Witches of the Great Project of the Soul had even developed abilities like life essence resistance specifically targeting dream illusions on this foundation.

Aina personally said she was a practicing witch of the Great Project of the Soul and a powerful Saint Stage witch.

Someone of her level was still doubting her own cognition; this behavior truly showed that the torture of the Primal Dream State had caused her too much stress.

After comforting the witch Aina, we temporarily settled her in a house in Fool’s Village with the help of the Village Chief.

But not long after, the witch Aina proactively sought me out again.

Because after accepting all this, she suddenly realized a few things.

For example… what was she here to do?

She had originally intended to enter the Primal Dream State to research its characteristics; after all, rather than staying in a laboratory, it was better to go directly to the front lines and experience many experiments personally.

But because of an accident, she ended up here.

The peaceful atmosphere here had even affected her to the point where she almost forgot what she was supposed to be doing.

It wasn’t until she was bored and went through some self-reflection that she suddenly remembered her purpose.

Only then did she manage to prevent her cognition, goals, and purposes from being assimilated by the Primal Dream State.

Additionally, she realized another very important matter…

That was, when she contacted Little Han earlier, she had overlooked a very important thing!

Little Han said her Great Tree of Knowledge could communicate with the outside world!

When she obtained the ”answer” to that question at the time, it explained her inner worries, but she had overlooked the value of the answer itself!

After Aina complained and cursed that damned Primal Dream State under her breath, she immediately sought me out again.

”Little Han, I just remembered… your Great Tree of Knowledge can contact the outside world? Reality, right?”

”Yeah, but… due to functional development reasons, currently I can only contact Big Sis Bai, which is Bai Yu. Does Big Sis Aina know her?”

I tilted my head slightly as I looked at the witch Aina, feeling that even a witch within the Primal Dream State seemed to have become a bit silly…

However… if I hadn’t used the Great Tree of Knowledge to anchor my own memories, the posture I displayed might have been even worse than hers.

Recalling my performance the first time I went deep into the Primal Dream State, I could feel its extreme danger even just by thinking about it.

”Bai Yu… I know her. Little Han, she’s your girlfriend, right? You can only contact her?”

Aina asked as she nodded hurriedly.

”Mhm. Because of my relationship with Big Sis Bai, currently the connection between the Great Tree of Knowledge and the Seed of Great Knowledge is the only communication channel. But it’s fine; Big Sis Bai has already told the Academy Head about this. This communication channel has become the only current communication channel between the Primal Dream State and reality. If Big Sis Aina wants to contact someone, I’ll just tell Big Sis Bai.”

”Help me contact the Academy Head… just the Academy Head is fine. I’ll tell her about my current situation… I hope the Academy Head doesn’t think I’m dead…”

”Ah, that…… probably not? Moreover, I heard that the Transcendent Witches who entered the Primal Dream State aren’t just Big Sis Aina alone, right? Specifically, I remember six came down? The Academy Head certainly won’t leave you all alone…”

I inquired curiously.

”Six? That many? I thought only three of us came down.”

”Maybe they decided to go after Big Sis Aina?”

”Mhm, that’s very likely.”

Aina and I chatted casually like this, while I acted as the messenger for information.

”Strange, why has there been no movement after waiting so long? Bai Yu couldn’t have missed it, right?”

Aina’s waiting time exceeded expectations.

Usually, doesn’t the Seed of Great Knowledge receive information in real-time?

And it’s not easy to overlook it either, Aina thought to herself.

”Definitely not. Big Sis Bai wouldn’t miss my message unless there’s a special circumstance. The concept of time in the Primal Dream State is quite complex, so there will also be a gap in cognitive time flow between reality and the dream. Wait a little longer.”

”Alright…”

Aina played with some ubiquitous dream Information creations out of boredom, and subsequently prepared to start a conversation topic.

”Speaking of which, Little Han… can your technique for communication between dreams and reality achieve interconnection between Seeds of Great Knowledge? If it can… this technique would really be a huge help for exploring the Primal Dream State…”

Aina felt the Great Tree of Knowledge within her Sea of Consciousness.

Clearly, her Seed of Great Knowledge within her Sea of Consciousness at this moment could not communicate with reality.

Or rather, her Seed of Great Knowledge right now was completely a decoration, a dream creation composed of Information within the dream.

Even for the Grand Spellbook body itself, only the [Transcendent Knowledge] inside could play a role, so the spell effects of a Grand Spellbook certainly wouldn’t have any effect in the Primal Dream State either; the permanence of such effects only manifested in the real world.

But clearly, Aina was not yet very clear on this.

”Maybe it can, but the technical hurdles that need to be overcome are too many; it’s not easy to popularize at this stage.”

I pondered for a while and gave such an answer, but I didn’t say it was absolutely impossible.

This idea was actually feasible.

I only needed to use the Great Tree of Knowledge in the Primal Dream State to reconstruct and derive a brand-new ”Seed of Great Knowledge,” creating a dream-version Seed of Great Knowledge that could be universally used within the Primal Dream State, and it would pretty much be universal.

But this was only logical in terms of ideas and inspiration; the problems that needed to be considered were numerous.

For example, how would the Seeds of Great Knowledge between reality and the dream interface?

How would a dream Seed of Great Knowledge exist in reality?

What technique would be used to convert between dream Information and reality Information?

How would the dream and reality Seeds of Great Knowledge coexist?

Otherwise, it’s not like I can provide a dream-version Seed of Great Knowledge every time someone needs dream communication…

If it really came to that, would there still be a need to promote such a thing?

So, a very simple idea may involve difficulties and problems behind it that far exceed the imagination of an explosive inspiration!

”Another technique that’s hard to popularize? True… after all, if everything were that simple, then there would be countless witches smarter than us who would have solved all these problems already.”

Aina sighed as she spoke.

And we hadn’t chatted for long when a message came from my Great Tree of Knowledge.

I didn’t expect the efficiency to be quite fast this time.

The responding message also showed that for the Academy Head and the others, my being able to bump into Aina within the vast Primal Dream State was truly a ”miracle.”

And Aina afterward slowly prepared to transmit all current conditions back.

This included, but was not limited to, the cause of this Primal Dream State descent and so on.

***

At this moment, in reality.

The group of witches had also gathered like a crowd watching for drama because of Bai Yu’s summons.

Previously, many witches had discussed the issue of the Dream Calamity and ultimately decided they would not retreat.

It wasn’t until Little Han proactively sent a message this time, informing them that she had met the witch Aina, combined with the messages transmitted afterward, that they realized the severity of the problem.

Regarding the witch Aina, they were naturally clear.

As one of the first Transcendent Witches to court death by entering the Primal Dream State, whether it was their courage or their degree of courting death, they were all things that made the group of witches sigh.

But no one had expected that such a Transcendent Witch would also ”encounter misfortune” in the Primal Dream State and even fall into Fool’s Village.

And what they expected even less was that Aina would coincidentally meet Little Han just like that!

Through the connection between the Seeds of Great Knowledge, they had already roughly deduced the cause and effect through Little Han’s internal description and Aina’s external description.

The culprit causing this Primal Dream State Calamity was actually that Fool’s Village!

And Little Han seemed unable to distance herself from it either…

From Aina’s description, the conjecture Little Han was worried about had very high credibility when viewed from the current perspective.

A special dream world in the Primal Dream State… because of an accident, it was constantly surfacing from the deep Primal Dream State, dragging infinite dream creatures with it!

And once such an existence arrived in the shallow dream, the massive number of dream creatures and the characteristics of the deep Primal Dream State it brought along would be enough to make a large area of the Expansion Realm’s spatial region fall into the Primal Dream State!

They had still underestimated the range the disaster might affect.

Furthermore, the intelligence learned afterward—that the consciousness of those students would go mad upon entering the Primal Dream State—was even somewhat inconsequential.

Since the student testing was of no use, the Witch Academy could just directly suspend the students’ cooperative experiments.

They also called for other academies to suspend their experiments in passing, though the other academies certainly wouldn’t listen.

The more important problem was… they could not estimate how large the range the Dream Calamity would affect in the Expansion Realm.

Relying solely on descriptions from Little Han and Aina, they had no way to even start.

Additionally, the few witches present were mostly the type without experience in calculating dream data.

After all, the witches from the Great Project of the Soul and related field projects had all entered the Primal Dream State; those present were all half-baked.

Data calculation in the Primal Dream State could not use the real world as a reference; they couldn’t even establish a spatial coordinate reference system… so they naturally couldn’t estimate abstract concepts like scale.

So… now they have to face such a problem once again.

Should they temporarily avoid the brunt of it?

There was naturally no need to take unnecessary losses head-on, especially with a Dream Calamity of such massive scale, which would even require the Expansion Realm’s original residents in this area to cooperate in evacuating their original shelters.

Although there were no nearby shelters in this vicinity, for safety’s sake, they still needed Ninglan Qiuyue to notify and coordinate with them.

Even if the Dream Calamity did not cover them, the aftershocks of the Primal Dream State would still intensify the dream overlap phenomenon in surrounding areas, causing some unexpected situations.

But this might not necessarily be a bad thing.

If the Primal Dream State accelerated its picking up of the Expansion Realm, then the Expansion Realm could enter the decline period of dream overlap ahead of time.

Moreover, the original residents of the Expansion Realm would no longer be harassed by dream creatures from the shallow dream.

But doing this would undoubtedly have significant side effects, which was that the place where they were situated would suffer an even more violent Dream Calamity.

It might even cause an extinction of the species in this area.

After all, creatures like mutated beasts in this area would also be affected.

Even though dreams could not cause any substantial damage to reality, it did not mean a Dream Calamity truly wouldn’t cause irreversible disasters for life.

The group of witches discussing this Dream Calamity similarly realized the influence of dreams on reality.

Previously, their attitude toward dream hazards was limited to ”indifference,” because it basically had nothing to do with them being in reality.

But only after truly experiencing such a disaster did they feel so intuitively—so the Primal Dream State is this terrifying!

This was a method that only targeted life, a method that wouldn’t cause any destruction to a grain of sand or a speck of dust in reality.

However, Cheryl, after recognizing this point, had different thoughts from the other witches, and her eyes even lit up.

As an Anti-Witch who had participated in world expeditions, she knew very well how useful this method was.

One could perfectly harvest a world without violently destroying it entirely; the effect of clearing trash was simply beyond words!

But unfortunately, she was not a witch majoring in the Great Project of the Soul and could not master this method.

But she knew very well who the little fellow causing all of this was.

Yang Yuehan.

The culprit of this disaster was Yang Yuehan.

She had ample reason to imagine that this little witch certainly played more than just the role of a ”fuse.”

She suddenly found herself somewhat admiring this little witch.

Sure enough… Only when things like ”deeds” are presented before one’s eyes can they gain the widespread recognition of other witches.

After this temporary meeting ended, Cheryl was not in a hurry to leave.

Her gaze turned toward Bai Yu, and Bai Yu also roughly knew what she wanted to do after their eyes met.

After a while, once the other witches had left, she spoke up:

”Now that everyone is gone, shall the two of us chat more? Something related to Little Han.”
