Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1300: Frightened Asura Demons

”Emperor, the more we walk forward, the stronger this bloodlust becomes.” Shang Beixuan spoke.

Shang Dongzhu chimed in. ”I’m not sure if this bloodlust belongs to that young demon, Emperor.”

”Perhaps there is a powerful living being residing in this underground path, Emperor.” Shang Nanzhui said.

”Emperor, this bloodlust somehow feels familiar to me.” Shang Zhanluo turned to Shang Xijiao. ”This bloodlust is a bit similar to Long Wuzhao but also different, so I think its owner is a beast like him.”

Shang Zhanluo raised an eyebrow. ”Have you ever known of a beast that has such a powerful bloodlust other than Long Wuzhao before, Zhui?”

”In the past, I accidentally witnessed Qiongqi fighting Long Xukong, and his bloodlust was nearly or even as powerful as this one. Besides, Beixuan and the others had sparred with Zhang Xiaolong before, and his bloodlust wasn’t this strong yet, so I agreed with Xijiao that the owner should be someone else.” Shang Zhanluo did not refute Shang Zhui. ”If he wants to achieve a bloodlust as strong as this one, he must kill millions or even billions of living beings, and he won’t be able to achieve that at such a young age.”

”Zhui is right, husband. I witnessed their spar before, so I also think that Zhang Xiaolong is not the owner of this bloodlust.” Shang Luohu put on a serious face as she looked ahead. ”There’s no point in us wondering now, and we’ll find the answer once we reach that place. However, Shu Wang previously said that the area is covered by a powerful barrier that is still too strong for even him, so I’m not sure we’ll be able to break through it.”

Shang Zhanluo agreed with his wife, but a thought suddenly flashed through his mind. ”What if that brat had already killed millions or billions of living beings before? He’s too weak to fight cultivators from this realm, but he came from the Three Mortal Realms.”

”You mean Zhang Xiaolong has killed many living creatures in the Three Mortal Realms, husband?”

”Yes.” Shang Zhanluo then continued. ”I don’t know the situation in the Three Mortal Realms because I’ve never descended there before, but I think he’s stronger than the cultivators from that place. Even Shang Xiuluo acknowledged his strength, and he was willing to help him as far as bringing him here, so I think such a possibility should exist.”

”I agree with you, Emperor.” Shang Xijiao spoke again. ”When I sparred with Zhang Xiaolong some time ago, he was able to suppress his bloodlust and killing intent to the point that I couldn’t detect them, and his speed far surpassed mine. Moreover, he could materialize his bloodlust into a bloody red figure with his low cultivation, so I agree with you that he has already surpassed all the cultivators in the Three Mortal Realms.”

”Therefore, it is very likely that Zhang Xiaolong has killed too many living beings in the Three Mortal Realms, and if that is true, then this bloodlust is probably his.” Shang Nanzhui added.

After he recalled his spar with Zhang Fei, Shang Beixuan immediately spoke. ”That kid should be the strongest cultivator in the Three Mortal Realms, Emperor. Back when I sparred with him, I didn’t use my true strength, but my raw strength was still superior. He only got minor bruises from my repeated attacks, and he wasn’t in much pain at the time because of his ability to recover from his injuries extremely quickly. If cultivators at his level had suffered all my attacks back then, I’m sure they wouldn’t have been able to recover for at least a year, which proved his body’s strength and resilience.”

”Let’s move faster.”

*Roar*

An extremely loud, powerful roar suddenly resounded within the underground path, followed by a powerful shockwave rushing towards them. Shang Zhanluo and the others tried to block it, but all of them were knocked quite far back, which shocked them.

”Where did that shockwave come from?” Shang Beixuan shouted.

Shang Zhanluo’s expression became serious after being hit by the shockwave attack. After all, his cultivation was already at the 3-Sun Celestial Venerable and he was the demon god of his Asura Demon Race, but the shockwave could knock him so far away.

Shang Luohu immediately spoke to him. ”That attack just now wasn’t Zhang Xiaolong’s, Husband. With his current cultivation and strength, he would never have been able to knock us back this far.”

”I agree with my empress, Emperor.” Shang Zhui tried to use something and shoot it forward, but it immediately disappeared on its own. ”See? I am certain that another living being resided in the front area, and the barrier was intentionally placed there to prevent that individual from escaping. However, I have an idea about who installed that barrier, and it was powerful enough to stop Shu Wang from detecting the area inside. The attack just now was clearly a warning, indicating that the individual did not want us to approach that area.”

”Let’s go!” Shang Zhanluo didn’t listen to Shang Zhui and walked forward again, making them sigh helplessly.

Like before, another powerful shockwave shot toward them, but Shang Zhanluo was already prepared to meet it, and he deflected it straight away. He immediately ran quickly towards the front area, forcing Shang Luohu and the others to follow him in a hurry.

Several powerful shockwaves attacked them again, but Shang Zhanluo continued to deflect them, making their journey easier than before.

When they were halfway there, Shang Zhanluo and the others suddenly stopped in their tracks. They stared at the ten-tailed fox’s bloodlust soul that suddenly appeared, blocking their path. Even with their superior strength, they trembled as the fox’s bloody red eyes stared at them, causing Shang Luohu and the five asura guardians to involuntarily take several steps back.

Unlike them, Shang Zhanluo stood still in his spot, undeterred by the presence of the ten-tailed fox’s bloodlust soul. ”Who exactly are you? How did you get in here?”

*Roar*

*Crack... Crack...*

The ground beneath Shang Zhanluo started to crack because of the ten-tailed fox’s bloodlust soul’s roar, causing him to tremble while frowning. ”You are not a true living being, and this is just your soul remnant, right?”

”Even if I’m just my soul remnant, I can still defeat you easily, puny asura demon god.”

Shang Zhanluo’s facial veins bulged out after hearing the ten-tailed fox’s bloodlust soul’s taunt, but Shang Luohu hurriedly walked behind him and grabbed his hand, speaking to him via voice transmission. ’Husband, this fox is not an ordinary fox! He is the remnant soul of the ten-tailed fox, the strongest living being ever born in this universe. Even though it is only his soul remnant, he is still stronger than us, so we should not disturb him.’

Shang Zhui and the other four asura guardians swallowed their saliva as they stared at the ten-tailed fox’s bloodlust soul. They were fighting demons, and they had fought countless battles until they could reach their current level, but the mere presence of the ten-tailed fox’s bloodlust soul frightened them, and they wanted to run away from that place as quickly as possible. ’What a terrifying monster!’

”Hmm?” Shang Zhanluo naturally knew about the ten-tailed fox, but he never expected that his soul remnant would live underground in his domain. He seriously looked at the ten tails before asking. ”Senior, can—”

”Scram!” The ten-tailed fox’s bloodlust soul shouted. ”If you guys don’t leave this place, I will attack you for real, and I guarantee your souls will be destroyed.”

Shang Luohu pulled her husband’s hand. ’Let’s go back, husband! We must not anger the ten-tailed fox!’

Seeing Shang Zhanluo continuing to remain silent, the ten-tailed fox’s bloodlust soul opened its mouth wide, showing off its sharp teeth.

”Please stop it, senior. We’ll go now.” Shang Zhanluo finally gave in after realizing the disparity in their strength.

”Leave!”

Shang Zhanluo took a deep breath and turned around, leading Shang Luohu and the others to leave the place.

As they followed behind Shang Zhanluo, Shang Luohu and the others felt relief in their hearts, especially since the ten-tailed fox’s bloodlust soul was extremely frightening for them.

Shan Zhanluo repeatedly glanced at the ten-tailed fox’s bloodlust soul. ’Holy shit! Just his soul remnant is already this powerful! How could such a powerful beast like him die? How strong would he be if he were still alive and using his real body? I’m sure not even Long Wuzhao and the four perils can fight him, and they will definitely submit to him.’

After he confirmed that they were gone, the ten-tailed fox’s bloodlust soul disappeared from that location and returned to Zhang Fei [5].

The ten-tailed fox’s bloodlust soul observed Zhang Fei [5]. ”This kid is quite tough, huh? I’ve already given him quite a bit of my bloodlust, and his bloodlust has gone out of control, but he still hasn’t turned cold-blooded. Perhaps, he will truly surpass me in the future, and he might be able to free himself and those around him from the universe chains to become free-living beings.”

The ten-tailed fox’s bloodlust soul narrowed his eyes as white smoke billowed out of Zhang Fei [5]’s body. ”So, he’s already gotten you, huh?”

”Haha.” The ten-tailed fox’s benevolent soul laughed at that. ”I’ve lived inside his soul for over two decades, but you’re wrong if you think I’m helping him because he doesn’t need my help to receive our bloodlust.”

”If you don’t help him, then who helps him?”
