Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1255: The Slaughter Blood Phantom

Shang Luohu intently monitored the three, and Nalan Wangzi’s decision not to join the others in the Blood Sea convinced her that she was indeed disguised.

However, Shang Luohu was not convinced that Nalan Wangzi was Ye Ziye, as her attitude toward Tian Shuixiang was too casual, considering the two were lovers.

’Who exactly is that woman? From which demon race did he come?’ Shang Luohu’s gaze shifted to Zhang Fei, who had begun to absorb the power contained within the blood. ’Is he really a lust demon? If he really was a lust demon, how could he control himself after absorbing it? Even Shang Xiuluo has begun to be affected by his bloodlust, yet the young demon maintains such calmness.’

*Thud*

Shang Luohu turned to the male asura demon who had just arrived. ”Why did you come here, Shang Beixuan?”

”Empress, my emperor ordered me to come here to protect you.” Shang Luohu raised an eyebrow in response to Shang Beixuan. ”My emperor told me some things about that young demon, and I have similar feelings toward him. He’s just an ant with his cultivation still at the Celestial Lord Realm, but his presence fills me with dread.”

Shang Luohu was surprised to hear that, as she didn’t feel the same feelings from Zhang Fei’s presence. ”What makes you feel that way?”

”I can’t say for sure, Empress.” Shang Beixuan pointed to Zhang Fei. ”My emperor said that he is most likely a lust demon, and a normal lust demon will definitely go berserk once he absorbs the power contained within the blood. However, his expression clearly shows that he feels nothing, and he absorbs the power within the blood without restraint—something that most members of our demon race, including myself, cannot do. Even though I won’t lose control or go berserk, once I absorb the power within the blood, my bloodlust will undoubtedly become uncontrollable. Shang Zhui and the other three will also experience the same thing if they absorb the power within the blood.”

Shang Luohu nodded in understanding. ”So, what do you think is best for us to do with that young demon?”

”Even though the power within the blood can’t affect him, he’s not an asura demon like us, so he won’t be of much use to our asura demon race.” Shang Luohu agreed with Shang Beixuan, who suddenly had an idea. ”Even so, I think there’s no harm in drawing him to our side, and he might be useful to us in some way. Isn’t that right, Shang Zhui?”

”Yes.” Both Shang Luohu and Shang Beixuan turned to look at Shang Zhui, who had just arrived. ”My emperor also thinks it would be wiser if we tried to draw this young demon to our side, but we should monitor him more closely first because we don’t have much information about him yet.”

Shang Luohu then asked him. ”Did you come here for your son?”

”Yes.” Shang Zhui looked at Tian Shuixiang, who was starting to have difficulty controlling his bloodlust due to the influence of the power within the blood. ”Even though I never liked his relationship with Ye Zhiye, he is still my only son, so I miss him. He has been missing for tens of thousands of years, and his cultivation hasn’t changed much since then.”

*Thud... Thud... Thud...*

Three male asura demons suddenly landed near them, making Shang Luohu sigh to himself. ”Why did you three also come here?”

”Empress, the three of us also felt the presence of that young demon, and his presence gave us fear, so we came here to check on him.” Shang Dongzhu was the first to answer.

Shang Nanzhui nodded his head slightly. ”I suspect that young demon is not an asura demon like us, but I can’t recognize his identity, and he seems to have come here for another purpose, so I hurriedly went here.”

”I also sensed something strange about this young demon, so I previously asked our emperor about him, and he said that he might be a lust demon. Hence, I rushed here, but I didn’t expect that you would also come here to check on him, Empress.” Shang Xijiao spoke as he repeatedly looked at Zhang Fei. ”The strangeness I felt from him seemed to be true, as he didn’t feel anything from the power in the blood, even though he was not an asura demon like us.”

Shang Luohu nodded to them. ”My husband indeed suspected that the young demon was a lust demon, and I came here to confirm that, but his disguise was too perfect. He—”

*Rumble... Rumble... Rumble...*

The ground beneath them suddenly shook violently, and the source came from the Blood Sea. Their expressions changed slightly as they saw the blood in the sea churning, and a blood vortex suddenly emerged from within before enveloping Zhang Fei’s body.

”This crazy bastard!” The five asura demon guardians shouted. ”Is he crazy? He’s not affected by the power in the blood, but he’s pushing himself too hard by increasing his absorption rate that fast!”

Shang Zhui nodded in agreement with Shang Beixuan. ”He will provoke the anger of the Slaughter Blood Phantom, and it will definitely come to the surface to kill him.”

”Hey! It’s been a long time since we saw the Slaughter Blood Phantom appear on the surface, and I think this is the best opportunity for us to analyze this young demon’s abilities.” Shang Dongzhu spoke as his aura overflowed involuntarily.

The other four asura demons were also the same as Shang Dongzhu; their auras were involuntarily released from their bodies. They are demons born from battle and blood, and the Slaughter Blood Phantom is the sole guardian of their asura demon race, possessing extraordinary power. The fight that might happen soon caused their blood to boil, and they couldn’t wait to witness Zhang Fei’s strength.

’These guys!’ Shang Luohu could only shake her head seeing them like that, but she herself was also curious about Zhang Fei’s strength, and she hoped that their guardian would appear to attack him so they wouldn’t have to move themselves to test his abilities. ”It’s really coming up.”

”Hahaha! Let’s see their fight.”

”Shit!” Tian Shuixiang cursed when he sensed the change in the Blood Sea, and he stopped absorbing the power within the blood before flying to the side of the sea. ”Zhang Fei! You must stop now! The Slaughter Blood Phantom will come out soon!”

”My brother-in-law didn’t seem to hear you, Xiuluo.” Nalan Wangzi stood beside Tian Shuixiang. ”It’s too late to stop him because the Slaughter Blood Phantom has already moved to the surface.”

”I don’t understand why he deliberately lured the Slaughter Blood Phantom out, but his decision will bring trouble for him.” Tian Shuixiang glanced in another direction. ”Moreover, Shang Luohu, my father, and the four guardians have arrived here, and they will definitely make a move against him.”

Nalan Wangzi let out a heavy sigh. ”Let’s see what happens next.”

*Boom*

A loud explosion suddenly rang in their ears, followed by an explosion of blood from within the Blood Sea. Soon, the Slaughter Blood Phantom shot out from within the sea, and it stared at the vortex of blood surrounding Zhang Fei’s body.

The Slaughter Blood Phantom is a formless living being born from the murderous will of the Blood Sea. When the blood of countless other creatures fused with the hatred of their final screams, the Blood Sea condensed this essence into a drifting nightmare that gave it life.

The Slaughter Blood Phantom has no fixed form, but now it looks like a ferocious beast with claws and fangs, like a crimson mist entwined with the form of death itself. The air thickens with a killing intent so oppressive that it makes Shang Luohuo and the others tremble, let alone Tian Shuixiang and Nalan Wangzi.

Nalan Wangzi and Tian Shuixiang took several steps back when the Slaughter Blood Phantom turned towards them. However, Shang Zhui suddenly appeared in front of them, protecting them with his asura demon aura.

Tian Shuixiang’s heart skipped a beat when he saw his father, and his hands clenched into fists. He wanted to call out to him, but no words came out of his mouth.

Nalan Wangzi, who was standing beside Tian Shuixiang, glanced at the father and son a few times. ’I didn’t expect him to show up to protect his son.’

”You finally decided to come back, Xiuluo.” Shang Zhui softly spoke.

Tian Shuixiang was at a loss to respond to him, as he was disappointed with Shang Zhui’s past decisions regarding his relationship with Ye Ziye, which forced the two to flee to the Three Mortal Realms.

Shang Zhui looked back at them, specifically at Nalan Wangzi. ”Is she Ye Ziye?”

”Unfortunately, you are wrong about me because I am not Ye Ziye, Senior Zhui.” Nalan Wangzi shook his head at him.

Shang Zhui raised his eyebrows. ”Then, who are you? Why are you with Xiuluo and that young demon?”

”Xiuluo is my old friend, and that young demon is my lover.” Shang Zhui immediately examined Nalan Wangzi’s body, discovering Zhang Fei’s Yang Qi within her. ”My identity is secret, and I won’t tell you.”

”Father.” Tian Shuixiang called softly. ”I’m sorry, I—”

”No need.” Shang Zhui shook his head at Tian Shuixiang before returning his gaze to Zhang Fei, who had appeared above the Blood Sea. ”Is your friend really a lust demon? Has he gone mad? Why did he deliberately lure the Slaughter Blood Phantom out?”
