Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1287: Facing The Enemies

Fortunately, Zhang Fei had already activated his soul domain and the five mirrors from the Reversal Mirror Reversal Technique; otherwise, the Soul Wraith Lord’s soul attack would have affected the three female demons.

”How did your strength increase so rapidly, master?”

Fei Lian nodded in agreement with Yao Qilin. ”Your strength suddenly became on par with us.”

”There are many things you two don’t know about me.” Zhang Fei raised an eyebrow as soon as the Soul Wraith Lord ordered the wandering evil souls to attack them. ”Let’s talk later! We have to get rid of these troublesome souls.”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei and the three female beasts ran away while scattering in four different directions, splitting the group of wandering evil souls into four.

As Zhang Fei expected, the Soul Wraith Lord did not chase after them, and it stayed where it was to protect the Nine-Petal Phantom Soul Lotus.

Zhang Fei activated the Demon-Piercing Eye that he mimicked from Jiu Yaoming to avoid those natural traps, and he lured the wandering evil souls that chased him to a more open area. After he arrived at the right area, he activated his light element, forcing them to stop. Then, he used the Exorcismus ability to attack them, and he also used the Soul Light Purification Ability to weaken them.

*Shriek... Shriek... Shriek...*

The wandering evil souls shrieked as countless light rays rained down on them from above, and most of them tried to escape from the area. However, Zhang Fei created light walls, confining them and preventing them from escaping.

From the beginning, Zhang Fei could have fought the wandering evil souls by borrowing the power of all the evil beasts in his beast space through the soul link, but he didn’t intend to do that before because he needed their soul powers to strengthen his.

*Roar*

A loud roar echoed in the forest as soon as Zhang Fei used the Demon King’s Roar, instilling fear and confusion among those wandering evil souls. Since there were quite a lot of enemies, he decided to summon his four clones, and all of them used the Demon King’s Roar once again, causing them to become even more afraid and confused.

After that, Zhang Fei and his four clones used the Demon Absorbing ability, and they absorbed those wandering evil souls at a rapid pace, which quickly reduced their numbers.

”Hmm? My soul power is starting to climb rapidly, but their numbers won’t be enough for my soul power to break through to the perfection stage.” As they continued to absorb those wandering evil souls, Zhang Fei monitored the situation of the three female demons, but the three of them had no significant difficulty in dealing with them due to their high cultivation. ”Mei, how strong is the Soul Wraith Lord?”

[Master, the system cannot detect the Soul Wraith Lord’s strength, so I cannot gauge its true strength. Judging from its previous soul attack, its strength should be on par with Nalan Shizhe, but it should not be a problem for you as long as you activate the soul link and absolute condition ability. Moreover, you have your four clones, Yao Qilin, Fei Lian, and Jiu Yaoming, by your side. Even so, I don’t recommend attacking it from close range; instead, you should use long-range attacks to attack it.]

Zhang Fei agreed with Mei, as he himself had already thought about attacking the Soul Wraith Lord from a distance.

[If necessary, you can summon Feng Yichen to assist you, as his dark flames are deadly.]

”No.” Zhang Fei immediately rejected Mei’s suggestion. ”Even though Feng Yichen’s dark flames are deadly, his strength is still too low to face the Soul Wraith Lord. Moreover, I have the Golden Crow Flame and the Eternal Flame, and I think they are sufficient to deal with it.”

[Well, that’s true.] Mei then surveyed the surrounding area. [The three female demons have almost finished eliminating those wandering evil souls, Master. However, other wandering evil souls continue to gather at the Soul Wraith Lord’s location, and it will surely command them to attack you all again.]

”The wandering evil souls in this forest are simply too many.” Zhang Fei decided to summon Nalan Wangzi out again because she was a devouring demon, and her abilities to devour would be very helpful in helping him.

”Hmm?” Nalan Wangzi was surprised when she arrived outside, but she didn’t ask anything and used her soul-devouring abilities to devour the wandering evil souls in front of them, quickly eliminating them. ”Where are the three female demons, brother-in-law?”

”Over there.” Zhang Fei pointed in three different directions, but he and one of his clones immediately moved in the other two, as Yao Qilin and Fei Lian had trouble finding their way back.

A while later, Zhang Fei had already brought Yao Qilin and Fei Lian to Nalan Wangzi’s side, and Jiu Yaoming arrived at their location not long after.

”What should we do now?” Fei Lian asked.

Yao Qilin then spoke. ”The number of wandering evil souls on the Soul Wraith Lord’s side is endless, and they will keep arriving to assist it; therefore, we would waste a lot of time if we tried to eliminate them all.”

”Can you use your Demon-Prison Eye to imprison those wandering evil souls?” Zhang Fei asked Jiu Yaoming.

Jiu Yaoming shook her head before explaining. ”Master, their numbers are simply too numerous, so I can’t imprison them all at once. Instead, I can use my eye minions to attack them from afar and lure them towards us, so we can destroy them more quickly if we gather together. Moreover, Princess Wangzi is here now, and she can use her soul-devouring abilities to devour them, shortening the time we have to get rid of them.”

”Brother-in-law, I think her idea is the best for now, so we should use it.” Zhang Fei also thought the same as Nalan Wangzi. ”If we wait too long, the Nine-Lotus Phantom Soul Lotus will disappear again, and your wait will be in vain.”

”Let me try something first.” Zhang Fei looked at his four clones, who immediately used their light elements, forcing the four female demons to stay away from them because that element was their nemesis.

Thereafter, the five of them used the Exorcismus ability before combining it, making the four female demons’ jaws drop after they saw a vast light circle appear above the heart of the forest.

”Attack!” After Zhang Fei said that, countless light rays rained down on the entire area under the vast light circle. The forest that was supposed to be dark became brightly lit, followed by loud shrieks from all wandering evil souls affected by his attack.

’His light attack is too terrifying! I will die if I get hit by that attack!’ Yao Qilin and Fei Lian screamed in their hearts, and even Jiu Yaoming stared at Zhang Fei in horror.

’Show off!’ Nalan Wangzi’s lips curled up, as she already knew more or less some of Zhang Fei’s advantages, including his ability to borrow the power of beasts within his beast space. ’Now that I think about it, he should be able to deal with Jia Zizhen by borrowing their power, but he doesn’t seem to want to do that because it would only draw too much attention to himself.’

When the light disappeared, Zhang Fei frowned because the Soul Wraith Lord was not injured in the slightest by his combined attack with his four clones, and the number of wandering evil souls on its side did not decrease much.

[Master, look around them; it is a powerful soul barrier, and it deflected almost all of your previous attacks.]

Zhang Fei nodded slightly. ”Yaoming, use your eye minions to lure those wandering evil souls to us now. However, you must avoid attacking the Soul Wraith Lord, as I’m afraid their attacks will damage the lotus.”

”Yes, master.” Jiu Yaoming summoned dozens of eyes before moving them toward the heart of the forest, and she used them to attack the wandering evil souls nearby. As expected, the souls immediately attacked the eyes, and she began luring them toward her. ”Get ready, master.”

Zhang Fei turned to the three female demons, who nodded and prepared to get rid of the wandering evil souls.

As soon as the wandering evil souls arrived, Zhang Fei and the others immediately moved to absorb and kill them. On the other hand, Jiu Yaoming controlled her eye minions to lure more souls towards them so they could clear them out faster, as they raced against time before the Nine-Petal Phantom Soul Lotus disappeared again.

However, the Soul Wraith Lord continued summoning wandering evil souls from various areas within the forest and domain, making their numbers difficult to reduce. Despite this, Zhang Fei and the others continued to use this tactic to further reduce their numbers while strengthening themselves, especially their soul powers.

[Master, you can’t continue like this because these wandering evil souls are endless, and you’ll run out of time if you don’t get rid of the Soul Wraith Lord soon.]

Zhang Fei understood that too, but he didn’t have clear information about the Soul Wraith Lord’s strength and abilities, which made him hesitate to attack it head-on.

Someone suddenly spoke into Zhang Fei’s mind. ’Haha! Why are you so afraid of the Soul Wraith Lord? It can’t move from its spot, you know? Even though your strength is below it, your soul power is more than enough to face it, and your speed surpasses it.’
