Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1267: Blood Tree King

”Can you stop these spectral beasts first?” The Moon Flame’s spirit frowned at Zhang Fei [5], who immediately returned to his human form. ”I won’t take your flame by force, and I just want to talk to you.”

The Moon Flame’s spirit nodded slightly, and those spectral beasts stopped chasing Jian Kuang and the others, relieving them.

Jian Kuang and the others floated to Zhang Fei’s [5] side, and his other three clones returned to the training space.

The Moon Flame’s spirit looked at them with a frown. ”Two fairies, a human, and a special human.”

”A special human?” Jian Kuang and the two fairies looked at Zhuxian Sheng, who shrugged his shoulders.

”Apart from the time element, he also has the Ancestral Battle Saint Physique, so I said that he is a special human.” Zhuxian Sheng inwardly sighed because it was his secret, but the Moon Flame’s spirit revealed it to them. She then asked Zhang Fei [5]. ”What do you want to talk to me about?”

”The Silver Moon Clan isn’t extinct.” The Moon Flame’s spirit clearly didn’t believe Zhang Fei [5] because she witnessed the destruction of that race in the past, but he immediately summoned Yin Yue’s soul out of his soul world, which shocked her. ”Do you believe me now?”

”How... how is this possible? How... how can your soul still be here, Master? How... how can you be with him?” The Moon Flame’s spirit questioned Yin Yue with a stutter.

Yin Yue let out a soft sigh and rubbed her head. ”Yin Ling, I did die at that time, but Guang Zhiyi preserved my soul, so I still exist now. She imprisoned my soul in the castle, and you can’t leave this place because my body was destroyed, so you don’t know that I was always there.”

”Why... why Guang Zhiyi—”

”Ling’er, you remember my mistake, right?” Yin Ling nodded to Yin Yue. ”Back then, Guang Zhiyi was fulfilling her duty as the guardian of the ancient races, so you don’t need to blame her since all those incidents happened because of my fault.”

”But—”

”No buts, okay?” Yin Yue turned to Zhang Fei [5]. ”My soul is too weak right now, and I’m staying with him because he can help me strengthen it. Once my soul is fully strengthened, I will reshape my body, and I will revive our Silver Moon Clan. However, it won’t happen anytime soon, and I have to wait several decades for my soul to recover to its original state.”

”Hua... Hua... I... I’m glad you still exist, master.” Yin Ling hugged her and cried as hard as she could, and Yin Yue hugged her back in silence while rubbing her head, as she had no words to calm her down.

Jia Xianzu and Beiming Youhuang exchanged glances for a moment before smiling in relief, but their expressions changed once they remembered their past, especially the death of the previous Fairy King. Unfortunately, they had no evidence or power to take revenge against Jia Zizhen, and they were forced to exile themselves for so many years.

Zhang Fei [5] and the others immediately moved away from Yin Yue and Yin Ling, giving them space and time to vent their feelings.

Jian Kuang patted Zhang Fei [5]’s shoulder. ”You should have summoned this woman earlier, so we wouldn’t have had to deal with these spectral beasts.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei [5] laughed at that. ”To be honest, I was unaware that Moon Flame possessed a spirit prior to her attack on me, and I only discovered their connection today. If I knew all that from the start, I would have summoned her long ago.”

Jian Kuang could only shake his head before looking at some distant area. ”Can her clan really rise again? She’s the only one left of her clan, right?”

”Why do you have to ask that, Senior Jian?” Zhuxian Sheng responded with a shake of his head. ”As long as this senior still exists, her clan still has a chance to rise again through her. However, her clan may not be as strong as it was in the past, and it will take a very long time to bring it back to its past glory.”

Jian Kuang nodded in agreement with Zhuxian Sheng before speaking to Zhang Fei [5]. ”Hey, kid! Why don’t you take her as your woman? Your existence is too special, so I’m sure your descendants with her will be extraordinary, and they might even surpass all cultivators in the future.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei [5] laughed at that. ”Would you believe me if I had no interest in Yin Yue?”

”No!” The four people shouted at Zhang Fei [5], particularly since he was the most lustful man they had ever met.

Zhang Fei [5] helplessly sighed at their reaction. ”I don’t know what will happen in the future, but I really don’t have any interest in her right now, and I took her with me because I sincerely want to help her come back to life. Furthermore, my wives are numerous now, and I barely have time for them.”

Even though Zhang Fei [5] said that, Beiming Youhuang and the others still didn’t believe him, and they were convinced that he would take Yin Yue as his wife someday.

Sometime later, Yin Ling stopped crying, and Yin Yue brought her before Zhang Fei [5]. ”Ling’er, I—”

”No!” Yin Ling immediately refused Yin Yue because she understood her wishes. ”If he wants my Moon Flame, he has to help you come back to life first. However, I won’t hand over my flame to him because you are my master, and I will only give him a fragment of my flame then.”

”But—”

”Alright, you don’t need to force her.” Zhang Fei [5] stopped Yin Yue before speaking to Ying Ling. ”Since she is your master, I will not force you to choose me to be your master, and a fragment of your Moon Flame is enough for me. Instead of spending time alone in this place, what if I send you into my soul world? This way, you can accompany her there, and the two of you won’t feel bored together.”

”Huh?” Ying Ling looked at Zhang Fei [5] with repeated winks. ”Do... do you really have a soul world?”

Instead, Yin Yue answered Yin Ling. ”Zhang Fei [5] does have a soul world, and it’s already a perfect world. However, there are still no humans or other races there, except for the beast races for now. Therefore, let him take you and the Moon Flame into his soul world, and we will spend some time together there.”

”Alright.” Yin Ling stretched out her hand toward the Moon Flame, and it immediately shot out in front of them. She then spoke to Zhang Fei [5]. ”Since my master asked me like that, you can send us into your soul world now.”

Zhang Fei [5] enveloped Yin Yue, Yin Ling, and the Moon Flame with his aura before sending them into his soul world.

Jia Xianzu and Beiming Youhuang suddenly spoke to Zhang Fei [5]. ”Send us to your soul world; we might be able to do something about it.”

Since Jia Xianzu and Beiming Youhuang were fairies, and they had a close relationship with nature, like other natural races, Zhang Fei [5] fulfilled their request by sending both of them to his soul world.

Zhang Fei [5] looked at the spectral beasts that had become docile. ’What do you think if I send them to my soul world as well, Mei?’

[Master, I don’t recommend that because the evil soul of the nine-tailed fox is also there, and he will become stronger if he absorbs them, which will be a big problem for you.]

Zhang Fei [5] nodded in understanding before bringing Jian Kuang and Zhuxian Sheng back to the Moonlite Passion Sect, and he asked them to train the disciples again. Thereafter, he entered his soul world, as he was curious about what Jia Xianzu and Beiming Youhuang were planning for it.

Zhang Fei and Nalan Wangzi had moved deeper into the Blood Forest, and they had almost reached the heart of the forest. They didn’t enter the area and looked at the colossal tree that towered in the middle.

The Blood Tree King is the overlord of the Blood Forest, a colossal existence that has stood since the first battles of the Asura Demon Race. Legends say it sprouted from the lifeblood of the first Asura Demon God, watered by the blood of millions who perished in the earliest wars.

Its trunk is wider than the city walls, its crown covers the crimson sky, and its roots stretch deep into the veins of the earth, drinking the blood in the underground river of pure blood essence that connects to the Blood Sea. Its bark is like a living shield of hardened blood crystals, and each leaf drips with the thick blood essence.

Unlike ordinary blood creatures, the Blood Tree King is no mere beast but a demonic entity with will and consciousness. It rules the entire Blood Forest as its domain, and all the creatures within the forest are under its command. In its presence, the line between life and death disappears—fallen warriors are absorbed into its roots, their bodies transformed into nutrients, their blood essence woven into new shoots.

Zhang Fei held his breath after Mei displayed the Blood Tree King’s status, and Nalan Wangzi hugged his arm tightly, as its presence terrified her.

”Who dares invade my forest?”
