Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1280: Jiu Mozu’s Sudden Arrival

Since Zhang Fei’s three clones were not far from the soul creature, its attack reached them. Fortunately, they had used the reversal mirror technique, and they reversed its soul attacks.

The soul creature staggered backwards in dizziness after being hit by its own attacks. Not long after, two flurries of petals directly hit it, causing it to roar in pain again and the evil souls that formed its body to begin to scatter.

However, many soul threads come out of the soul creature’s body and pull those evil souls back, making it whole again. It looked at Zhang Fei [5]’s golden sword that hurtled toward it, and it launched an attack toward the sword before the two collided.

Zhang Fei [5]’s golden sword instantly shattered the soul creature’s attack and kept hurtling toward it, but it suddenly disappeared from its spot, causing his attack to miss its target.

Zhang Fei [5] and the others did not stay in their spots; instead, they teleported repeatedly as the soul creature tried to attack them as soon as it reappeared. They did not expect that it could see them, even though they were still in an invisible state.

Seeing that, Nalan Shizhe led the elders to block the soul creature, but it ignored them and focused on chasing them.

”Use your soul-devouring soul technique!” The five elders followed Nalan Shizhe’s orders, and six giant mouths appeared to surround the soul creature before devouring the evil souls that formed its body.

Annoyed by that, the soul creature fired several soul attacks at them. However, Zhang Fei’s four clones moved in front of them and reflected its attacks using their mirror reversal techniques, causing it to stagger backwards in dizziness after being hit by its own attacks again.

Nalan Shizhe spoke straight away. ”Zhang Fei! That soul creature is clearly targeting you and can see your invisibility, so you should leave and leave the rest to us.”

”Mother-in-law, that soul creature’s attack is quite powerful, and you guys won’t be able to withstand it. Moreover, its speed isn’t as fast as mine, so you don’t need to worry about me.” Zhang Fei [5] and the other three clones attacked the creature again. ”Last move! Ashen Bloom!”

Seeing the four flurries of petals rushing toward it, the soul creature immediately flew away to avoid them, especially after it was hit by the same attack three times before.

The Soul creature suddenly disappeared again, just like before, but it was not difficult for Zhang Fei [5] to track its location. He pointed in one direction. ”Attack that area.”

Nalan Shizhe and the elders directed their attacks in that direction, followed by those of Zhang Fei [5] and the other clones. However, the soul creature quickly fled again, dodging their attacks.

Zhang Fei [5] furrowed his brows. ”We can’t attack the soul creature directly, and we have to think of a way to absorb the evil soul that forms its body first, which will weaken it.”

”I agree.” Nalan Shizhe turned to her five subordinates. ”We must approach the soul creature, but we must also keep our distance from it to avoid its soul attacks. If its soul attacks hit us, it will definitely absorb our strength.”

”Yes, Demon God.”

Nalan Shizhe suddenly frowned after she felt something enter her domain. ”Zhang Fei! Leave now!”

[Master! You must leave now and take all your clones!] Mei also shouted into Zhang Fei [5]’s mind.

Hearing their panic, Zhang Fei [5] and the other clones swiftly entered his soul world without thinking twice. Not long after they disappeared, Jiu Mozu and his eight subordinates arrived not far from the place.

”Hahahaha!” Jiu Mozu laughed seeing Nalan Shizhe’s expression. ”Why are you looking at me like that, Soul-Devouring Demon God?”

”You bastard!” Nalan Shizhe shouted at him. ”You deliberately sent one of your subordinates into my domain to cause trouble.”

”Hehehe.” Jiu Mozu casually laughed in response. ”Where did you hide that young demon? If you hand him over to me, I will help you to defeat that soul creature.”

”Do you think I need your help?” Nalan Shizhe looked at the eight demons behind Jiu Mozu. ”Even your subordinates are incomplete, and you won’t be able to use your full strength in the absence of one of them.”

Jiu Mozu waved his index finger at her. ”Even if they are incomplete, I can still borrow their power, and I will become stronger than you, so it won’t be difficult for me to defeat that soul creature.”

”Tch!” Nalan Shizhe didn’t want to admit it, but she knew that Jiu Mozu’s strength would surpass hers if he borrowed the power of his eight subordinates.

Jiu Mozu smiled smugly at her expression. ”Hey! Come on! Hand over that young demon to me, and I will help you defeat that creature.”

”Keep dreaming!” Nalan Shizhe led the five elders to chase the soul creature, which fled away after the arrival of Jiu Mozu and the others.

”Stubborn bitch!” Jiu Mozu then looked back. ”Can you find the whereabouts of that young demon, Jiu Yaoming?”

”No.” Jiu Yaoming shook her head in response. ”Demon God, I’ve used my eye abilities to check the entire area of this domain, but I can’t find him anywhere.”

Jiu Mozu frowned as he tried to track Zhang Fei’s whereabouts in the domain using his senses, but he was also unable to find him. He discovered several places his senses couldn’t penetrate, including the Wailing Soul Forest.

Since those places were too far from their location, Jiu Mozu doubted Zhang Fei could move quickly enough to hide in one of them. He withdrew his senses before asking one of them. ”Jiu Yuan, have your people found Ma Youling yet?”

”Not yet, Demon God.” Jiu Yuan reported several things to Jiu Mozu. ”Apart from not being able to find Ma Youling, they also couldn’t find any members of the Ma Clan’s branches anywhere. I think we should order Sheng Yaohun to suppress the members of the Ma Clan in the Nirvana Sky Domain; I’m sure they know their whereabouts.”

”Sheng Yaohun has long since isolated the Ma Clan from that domain, so I believe they have never had any contact with their branch clans.” Jiu Mozu looked at Nalan Shizhe and the five elders, who had already started fighting the soul creature in the distance. He smiled evilly, seeing them overwhelmed by its soul attack. ”Yaoming, I want you to continue monitoring them. I believe that young demon is still in this domain, and I want you to find him as soon as possible. There has never been a demon who can use the light element, so we must successfully capture him, and we will use him to fight Mo Shentian.”

”Yes, Demon God.” Jiu Yaoming then asked. ”Should I help Nalan Shizhe and the others?”

”No need.” Jiu Mozu refused. ”They do seem overwhelmed by that creature, but they haven’t used their ultimate ability yet. Moreover, the creature has appeared repeatedly in the past, and they have always managed to deal with it, so there’s no need for you to help them.”

”Alright.” Thereafter, Jiu Mozu took the other seven away, but Jiu Yaoming stayed in the domain to look for Zhang Fei’s whereabouts.

”What happened, brother-in-law?” Nalan Wangzi asked Zhang Fei, who had just returned from hunting the wandering evil souls.

Zhang Fei let out a disappointed sigh before telling Nalan Wangzi and Nalan Huanzi about the situation outside the forest, especially regarding the arrival of Jiu Mozu and his eight subordinates. ”I wanted to absorb that soul creature with the help of my other clones, but their arrival ruined my plan. Moreover, he left one of them in this domain, and she is looking for me now. If I go out now, she will immediately chase me. Luckily, her demon god couldn’t check this forest, so we should be safe here.”

”Who did Jiu Mozu leave here?”

”Jiu Yaoming, the eye demon.” Both Nalan Wangzi and Nalan Huanzi frowned when Zhang Fei mentioned that name. ”Can my mother-in-law do anything about her?”

Nalan Wangzi shook her head at him. ”If my mother captures Jiu Youming, Jiu Mozi will be furious and attack her. Even though their strength is equal, he can borrow power from his other seven ordinates, and he will overpower her.”

”I see.” Zhang Fei was disappointed with that, as he missed the opportunity to absorb the creature’s soul, which was far more useful to him than the wandering evil souls in the forest.

”Are they looking for you because of Ma Youling, brother-in-law?”

”I don’t think so.” Zhang Fei looked toward the distance as he monitored Jiu Yaoming’s movement from the map. ”Jiu Mozu shouldn’t know that Ma Youling is in my hands, and he must be looking for me because I previously destroyed the demon eye using my light element.”

Nalan Wangzi nodded in understanding. ”There are no demons who can use the light element, so he is looking for you to either capture or kill you. However, the first option is more likely, and he probably wants to use you against Mo Shentian.”

”I think so too.” Zhang Fei agreed with her. ”Your mother and the others seem overwhelmed by that soul creature, but I can’t send my clones to help them because of Jiu Yaoming’s presence.”

”Hehe.” Nalan Wangzi giggled. ”I told you before, you don’t need to worry about them; the previous demon god will appear if they are unable to handle that creature.”
