Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1269: Soul-Devouring Domain

After speaking with Shang Zhui, Zhang Fei immediately left the place, accompanied by Nalan Wangzi, who then asked him. ”Where are we going now? We can’t fight the Blood Tree King, and you also have to wait for the Slaughter Blood Phantom to finish helping Tian Shuixiang before you can go to the underground river.”

”We’ll go to another domain for now, and we’ll return here once Tian Shuixiang finishes.”

”Where?”

”The Sky Pillar Domain.” Nalan Wangzi turned to Zhang Fei with surprise. ”Qing Qiu’er and the others said that this domain is the most advanced in this realm, and I need some items to create those teleportation devices, so we’ll go there to have a look.”

Nalan Wangzi nodded slightly. ”Since you want to go to that domain, I can’t accompany you because they have demon detectors. My disguise artifact can’t help me disguise my identity, so they’ll notice my presence the moment I set foot in that domain. Therefore, you must send me back, and I will lend my artifact to Gong Ren and the others.”

”We should leave this domain first, and I’ll send you back afterward.” Zhang Fei hugged Nalan Wangzi’s waist, but she suddenly stopped him. ”What’s wrong?”

Nalan Wangzi let out a soft sigh. ”My mother just sent me a voice transmission, and Mo Taizi is waiting for me in our domain, so I have to go home.”

”Hmm?” Zhang Fei frowned at that. ”I’m curious what Mo Taizi wants from you, so I’ll accompany you.”

”Haha.” Nalan Wangzi softly laughed. ”You are such a possessive and overprotective man, did you know that?”

Zhang Fei shrugged in response. ”All my women are important to me, and I will never allow any man to approach any of you. Mo Taizi may be your fiancé, but I am your true man.”

”I haven’t agreed to be your woman, remember?”

”Do you think I care whether you agree or not?” Zhang Fei’s response stunned Nalan Wangzi. ”If I say that you are my woman, then you are. Furthermore, I have seen every inch of your body, so you are my woman.”

”Hahaha!” Nalan Wangzi laughed out loud, lightly punching Zhang Fei’s chest. ”You are such a shameless lust demon!”

Zhang Fei hugged Nalan Wangzi’s waist and took her away from the Slaughter Blood Domain directly. Since the Soul-Devouring Domain was located in the same main domain, they didn’t need to go to the border, and he took her there directly.

The Soul-Devouring Domain is a place of horror and reverence, a land where every step is shadowed by the cries of the dead. Endless soul fog blackens the skies, and fractured bones from forgotten eras cover the ground. Unlike the Slaughter Blood Domain, which thrives on flesh and blood, the Soul-Devouring Domain feeds on the spirits of the dead, turning resentment, fear, and hatred into its lifeblood.

In this domain, every breath carries the whispers of lost souls. Ghostly wails sweep across the land, and shadows twist unnaturally as if alive. This land is filled with Soul Abysses—bottomless chasms where countless spirits swirl like stormy tides, drawn to eternal torment. Within these abysses dwell Soul-Devouring Ghosts, born of pent-up resentment, capable of tearing a soul apart with a single scream.

This domain is tainted, shrouded by drifting soul clouds, which constantly rain blackened flames. These flames do not burn flesh but burn the soul, leaving nothing but an empty husk.

”Aren’t you going to transform yourself into one of my race?” Nalan Wangzi, who had already removed her disguise, asked.

Zhang Fei looked at her. ”There’s no need for that, right? Will your demon race be hostile to me?”

”No.” Nalan Wangzi shook her head. ”However, Mo Taizi is a different story, and my race has never had any contact with lust demons. If he saw you now, he would be suspicious of us, and he would report us to Mo Shentian.”

Zhang Fei nodded in understanding and transformed himself into a member of the soul-devouring demon race. However, he did not transform himself into a male one but a female one, making Nalan Wangzi laugh out loud.

”Hahaha!” Nalan Wangzi laughed while clutching her stomach. ”You are ridiculous, brother-in-law! Why did you turn into a female demon? However, you’re prettier than other female demons, and the male demons will definitely be crazy about you.”

Zhang Fei just shook his head. ”So, where do you live?”

”Over there.” Nalan Wangzi pointed toward the center of the domain. ”We live within the Soul Abyss, and that area is filled with wandering souls that protect us, so there aren’t many demons from other races who dare to disturb us.”

”Alright! Let’s go now!” Zhang Fei activated his soul domain before bringing Nalan Wangzi to the center of that domain.

Unlike the Asura Demon God, who resides in a palace, the Soul-Devouring Demon God resides within an abyss, surrounded by walls formed from the souls of the living creatures who died in the domain, making the area utterly terrifying due to their wailing.

Nalan Wangzi immediately took Zhang Fei to the only huge black mansion in the middle of the abyss, with many souls flying around it.

The guards at the entrance appeared confused upon seeing Zhang Fei, as they couldn’t recognize him; however, they remained silent because he came together with Nalan Wangzi.

When they arrived inside the mansion, Zhang Fei saw Nalan Shizhe sitting on a large chair that was almost like a throne. Since Nalan Wangzi had already informed her about him, she was not confused when she saw him, but she felt that he was too reckless because Mo Taizi was present there. ’This kid! Why did he insist on coming here? Isn’t he afraid that Taizi will see through his disguise?’

However, Zhang Fei looked relaxed as he walked to an empty chair before sitting down, his gaze focused solely on Mo Taizi. As usual, Mei immediately informed him of the male demon’s strength, causing him to momentarily raise an eyebrow. ’3-Sun Celestial Emperor Realm, huh? He is the second prince of the Celestial Demon Race, but he is already that strong, so the first prince should be even stronger.’

Mo Taizi looked calm as he observed him, but Zhang Fei’s disguise was simply too perfect, preventing him from knowing his true identity.

In Mo Taizi’s eyes, Zhang Fei was no different from other female demons, and he did not show the slightest interest in him even though he was disguised as a female demon.

”Why did you suddenly come here without contacting me first, Taizi?” Nalan Wangzi asked while sitting next to Zhang Fei.

Mo Taizi immediately explained to Nalan Wangzi and Nalan Shizhe the reason for his sudden arrival, causing not only the two women but also Zhang Fei to frown. ”Wangzi, you surely know that I don’t want to do this, right? However, I cannot disobey my father’s order, and he demands that we both marry once he returns from the Ten Thousand Beast Grave Domain. Therefore, I hope you are willing to accept this decision and prepare for our marriage; otherwise, you and your demon race will suffer from his wrath.”

”What exactly is Mo Shentian doing in the Ten Thousand Beast Grave Domain? Why did he suddenly decide to go there?” Nalan Shizhe naturally already knew the Celestial Demon God’s reason for going to the domain, as Zhang Fei had already informed those close to him about Mo Taizi’s meeting with Xie Heilong and Xie Zhi in the Endless Night Dungeon some time ago.

Mo Taizi shook his head at her. ”Aunt Shizhe, you should already understand my father’s character, right? He never discussed his plans in detail with me or my brothers, so we don’t know why he decided to go to that domain.”

’What a liar!’

Nalan Wangzi and Nalan Shizhe were startled when Zhang Fei suddenly spoke up, asking them to prepare something. Although the two women were confused by his request, they still agreed with his idea.

Nalan Shizhe then questioned Mo Taizi. ”When will your father return to your domain?”

”I can’t say for sure, Aunt Shizhe.” Mo Taizi replied with a shake of his head. ”My father could return at any time, and he wants to see that Wangzi and my wedding preparations are ready by then. Therefore, I hope you two can prepare everything starting today, and we will hold our wedding as soon as we return.”

”Do you really want this, Taizi?” Nalan Wangzi asked.

Mo Taizi released a sigh before answering her. ”Wangzi, I understand your feelings, but I cannot disobey my father. Even after we get married, I will never touch you as long as you don’t want it, so I hope you are willing to understand my decision.”

”Alright, we will start preparing for our wedding, but we can’t prepare it in a hurry.” Mo Taizi was relieved by Nalan Wangzi’s answer. ”I want our wedding to be the best, so we need to make the best preparations. However, we don’t know when your father will return, so you can ask him about it first.”

”I’ll try contacting my father later, and I’ll inform you both as soon as I get an answer.” Mo Taizi then stood up. ”Since you two have agreed, I will return to my domain now, and I will make all the necessary preparations according to the traditions of my race.”
