I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 549: 532: Battle ZoneChapter 549: Chapter 532: Battle Zone

[Notification: The combat zone in the Crystal Underground is now open, currently in its testing phase, and admission is free; entry is based on the order in line! (Specific coordinates can be viewed on the teleportation module map)]

On the Territory Internal Network, a notification appeared at the very top of the territory affairs module, very conspicuous.

“What is this?”

“Another new area has opened?”

“A free testing phase? Combat zone?”

“Who cares what it is, let’s go check it out first!”

...

Simultaneously with the notification’s appearance, a new passage emerged on one side of the adventurer square in the Crystal Underground, with a stone signpost at its entrance reading “To the Combat Zone.”

Walking down the corridor led to a somewhat smaller circular square, which was the center of the combat zone, featuring a large stone monument.

The landing points for the Local People who teleported in were right in front of the monument, allowing them to look up and see the text on the monument.

However, most Local People, accustomed to lining up at the test house, immediately rushed to queue at the doors of the combat rooms surrounding the square after landing and then returned to read the text on the monument.

[Combat Zone Usage Notice]

[1. The combat zone currently has ten combat rooms numbered 1-10, where Room #1 is the Lord’s private combat room and is not open to the public. The other nine combat rooms are open for free during the testing period, and Local People can queue and register to use them in order.]

[2. Free attacks are allowed in the combat ring of the combat room, unbound by the rules of the territory.]

[3. To reduce unnecessary casualties, it is recommended that each participant in the combat hire a Priest as a referee. The Priest will monitor the Life Values of the combatants, and when it falls to a certain level, they will activate the fight stop button on the watchtower to end the fight. The Life Value limit for stopping the fight is to be freely negotiated and decided by the combatants.]

[4. The combat zone is still in the testing phase, the platform has no protective shield, and there is a risk of accidental injury to spectators below. Please consider carefully before entering to watch.]

[5. Any injuries or deaths within the combat room are the sole responsibility of the player.]

“So Room #1 is the Lord’s private combat room! No wonder I couldn’t get in line for it!”

“Didn’t the Lord test their combat strength in the test house a few days ago? They were ranked first, who are they still fighting against?”

“It must be Draco and Atom, those powerhouses on the same level as the Lord, the gap isn’t that big.”

“I know, I heard someone say that the Lord issued a private sparring task. Only those who pass her interview can accept it, and the rewards are generous, specifically to help her practice combat, definitely rehearsing in Room #1.”

“Too bad we can’t get in, even to watch, you need the room owner’s permission.”

...

“Is there anyone who’s booked a combat room? I’m a Level 2 Priest, 10 copper coins per match, and the first three customers of the day get a free healing session! First come, first served, till all are gone!”

“Make it cheaper! 5 copper coins!”

“No way, no way, that’s all the Mana I have for today, and if I use it up, I have to wait until tomorrow for it to naturally recover. 10 copper coins, no less!”

“Then forget it, I’ll look for someone else.”

“Hey! Wait, 8 copper coins, lowest price for the first deal, booking or not? There aren’t many Priests in the territory, you may not find anyone cheaper than me!”

“Deal! I’ve booked the fourth match in Combat Room #3, add me as a friend, and I’ll call you later!”

“Okay!”

...

“Can you kill someone on the platform now?”

“I guess so.”

“Then private grievances don’t have to be settled outside the territory anymore, just directly book a room and fight a death battle without a Priest at the combat room!”

“It’s not that easy. Just now, during the first match, a player tried but entering the battle room can only be done through the room host’s shared battle room coordinates. Exiting, however, anyone can manage. To kill someone, it has to be a fatal blow from the start; otherwise, it’s impossible.”

...

After opening the battle area, Mu Ying let the matter go.

Her instructions were clear enough. Li Luoxia was right; she didn’t need to consider every little thing for the local people; otherwise, she would just be spoiling them.

Everyone should be responsible for their own actions. Whatever injuries or deaths happen inside the battle room, it was up to them to handle.

Unless one is unbelievably careless, the likelihood of dying in the battle room is still very low. Without this level of caution, one would be dead outside the territory anyway.

Once opened, it would be up to the local people themselves, and Mu Ying’s thoughts turned back to her own cultivation.

She had been busy with trials recently, and her real-world cultivation had been interrupted.

Now, her trial time had stabilized, and she had used up her saved trial time. There was no need for ceaseless daily trials, and she returned to her schedule of three hours of training each evening.

The morning Elf classes would resume from tomorrow, and she had already informed Furris.

However, she needed to arrange the sparring tasks she had given to Draco and Atom.

She opened the Territory Internal Network and pulled the two of them into a small group.

[Strength Increase! Increase! Increase!]

Mu Ying: “Respected sparring coaches, please give us your guidance! @Draco@Atom”

Draco: “This group’s name, pretty auspicious...”

Atom: “...”

Mu Ying: “Haha, right, let’s fix a practice time. What time suits you both?”

Draco: “You’re the sponsor, you decide.”

Atom: “Agreed.”

Mu Ying: “In the upcoming period, I won’t be going out and will be around the territory, so my schedule is quite flexible. I might need to have a match with each of you daily, a pretty intense schedule. When are you usually in the territory?”

Draco: “Let’s make it in the evening then, starting at seven o’clock. That way, we can go on adventures during the day.”

Atom: “Agreed.”

Mu Ying: “Alright, we’ll officially start from tomorrow. If something comes up on your side last-minute, just let me know.”

Draco: “Understood!”

Atom: “Received!”

...

Mu Ying logged out of the Territory Internal Network.

She figured that the two evening battle training sessions might take an hour or two, and there were still three hours of trials left until midnight.

Fortunately, as an Elf, she had abundant energy and needed very little sleep; even several days without sleep weren’t a big deal. Moreover, she could use the extra time late at night to organize her Magic System and concoct magic potions.

With most of her daytime freed up, she planned to use it all for cultivation, gaining more professional experience to advance to level 10 sooner, as she had been at level 9 long enough.

She also had to continue her forest patrolling tasks, aiming to enhance the protective range and strength of the Guardian Armor.

Her goal wasn’t just the forests around her territory but the entire Deep Blue Star, yet currently, she hadn’t traversed even the forest entirely.

The defensive power of the Guardian Armor was strong, she felt, and it became her most potent method of survival to date.
