I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 502: 485: Does God Exist?Chapter 502: Chapter 485: Does God Exist?

“My First Trial World seems endless, refreshing each time I enter. Earning Source Power is alright, but the resources are very monotonous and hardly valuable. Without the conversion value of real items, the Trial World will always remain a virtual entity. I just couldn’t wait any longer. Now that I’ve opened the Second Trial World, I finally see hope. Even though the beginning is more difficult and my character doesn’t have the special bloodline like Mu Ying’s in the second world, I’m still satisfied,” Draco was filled with joy.

With the extremely real Second Trial World now available, even if he got lost again, the things in the Trial World could help him live well.

Upon hearing this, Maz felt that his situation was very similar and said, “My First Trial World is full of basic living materials and food, which are also available in reality, so there’s absolutely no need to convert them. There’s nowhere to use the Source Power, and I couldn’t see any hope of opening the Second Trial World. I was almost giving up on trying.”

“My First Trial World is also similar. While I can earn Source Power, even though it’s always a small amount each time, there’s hardly any value in converting real items, making it very rigid and leaving no perfect direction for exploration,” Vinica also struggled. “I might have to choose to open the Second Trial World with 5,000 Source Power.”

“Mine is the same. I even feel that my Trial World has no room for exploration. The place is just that size, with nothing much in it. After each death, it refreshes,” Atom said somberly.

“!!!” The others were startled by his voice. When he didn’t speak, they always couldn’t help but overlook him, and his sudden words created a feeling of horror.

However, everyone understood his characteristics and, after the initial shock, they calmed down.

“Why is it so easy for you all to earn Source Power?” Edwin was incredibly envious. He really needed Source Power—so many Character Cards, so much fancy Skill, and he had no Source Power to exchange!

“I’m the most pitiful. Not only is Source Power hard to earn, but I even feel I might hit a dead end before earning 5,000 Source Power. My character’s blood volume is running low, the remaining monsters are unbeatable, and there’s no more treasure left to pick up. I don’t know what to do,” Li Luoxia felt her Trial World was the worst trap!

In the end, among the eight Trialists present, except for Mu Ying, the remaining seven were all thinking of choosing the path of opening the Second Trial World with 5,000 Source Power.

Compared to Source Power, which couldn’t be utilized directly, they seemed to value the real-world benefits of tangible item conversion more.

Mu Ying understood their thinking well. After all, the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial was still just a virtual world, and reality was the core. Without tangible item conversion, the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial was like a holographic game, and when compared to reality, of course, one would choose reality.

They didn’t understand the specifics of the Trial World like Mu Ying did, so it was normal for them to have such thoughts. Even if they described the entire world to her, she could only give them subtle advice and couldn’t guide them fully or make them believe her.

Such a choice was normal, but the role of Source Power was much greater than they imagined, and that was what Mu Ying wanted to tell them today.

“When you first opened the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial page, you must have seen that introductory impact, right?” Mu Ying then asked.

“We did see it—Ten Thousand Worlds Trial connects countless universes and worlds, a massive network; it’s spectacular!” Edwin exclaimed.

“That thing that looks like a network is what transports Source Power to all the worlds, and this Source Power is what we, the Trialists from various Life Planets, obtain during the trials,” Mu Ying said. “Source Power is the fundamental energy the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial allocates to each world. The stronger the fundamental force, the richer the planet’s resources.”

The others looked on with puzzlement, having heard about this when entering the trial, wondering why Mu Ying was bringing it up.

Maz furrowed his brow. “Are you saying we should try to earn more Source Power for our planet? But after the apocalypse, the population of Deep Blue Star drastically decreased, and natural resources became plentiful. Our planet isn’t lacking in resources!”

“It’s true that our planet isn’t short on resources now. But as members of Deep Blue Star, how far we can progress in our Profession and how high that ceiling is depends on Deep Blue Star’s fundamental intensity and our contribution to the planet—that is, the Source Power we earn. This is the main thing I wanted to tell you, the Trialists of the same Mother Star can be said to be in a community of shared interest in the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial, because we are all fighting for resources for our Mother Star,” Mu Ying explained.

“What do you mean by that? Isn’t it just about accumulating Experience to level up?” Draco didn’t quite understand.

“Currently, that is the case. But to advance from level 19 Demigod to level 20 Divine, you need to grasp the Power of Laws to condense a Divine and achieve a Divine Position. The prerequisite for sensing the Power of Laws is first to be recognized by the planet, which we naturally have, and then to have enough contribution, that is, Source Power. After becoming a God, the strength of the Divine Power is also related to the Mother Star’s fundamental intensity. You all have great Talent and may have a shot at the Divine Position, so don’t underestimate the role of Source Power,” Mu Ying further explained.

At this proclamation, the others were stunned.

“A God? Are there really gods in this world?”

Deep Blue Star had many religious beliefs in the past but revered science more. Gods existed only in myths and were largely regarded as fictional.

“I learned about this from the Elf Clan. The Elf Clan has its own Divine System. You can also ask those outsiders; it shouldn’t be a secret. Every Life Planet outside has its local deities,” Mu Ying said, going on to explain to them about the different grades of gods and the paths to godhood without any reservation.

This was the first time the others had heard about these matters; they didn’t interact with the Foreign Races as closely as Mu Ying did.

Qingshan City was the only territory on Deep Blue Star where multiple races cohabitated.

Nobody thought Mu Ying was lying; there was no need for that.

If gods truly existed, then who wouldn’t want to become a God?

Compared to godhood, the benefits of tangible item conversion seemed far less appealing.

“Alas, if Source Power is so important, then it’s really hard to give up the First Trial World! At least it’s easier to earn Source Power there. Although the amount is small each time, it adds up over time. However, the absence of immediate benefits and a clear direction for perfect exploration is distressing!”

Vinica, Maz, Atom, and Chisima Keiko, those who could easily earn Source Power in their First Trial Worlds, were caught in a dilemma.

Should they look after immediate benefits or think in the long term?

As for Edwin and Li Luoxia, they didn’t need to make a choice—one needed to exchange Character Cards and was so desperate for Source Power that he had no choice but to go to the Trial World for ranked matches every day, while the other faced such difficulty in the trials that advancing further to earn more Source Power was out of the question.
