I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 513: 496 City MapChapter 513: Chapter 496 City Map

The Ten Thousand Worlds Trial Manual is the cheapest here, costing only 10 Source Power for a copy. According to the product information, this book contains the basic rules and introduction of the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial. It’s a must-read for newcomers and comes highly recommended for purchase.

There’s also a city map for 100 Source Power, which is a map of the Trialists’ city within this universe. It includes paid teleportation ports to facilitate Trialists’ movement within the city.

The one she could purchase was the city map of Multiverse City beneath her feet.

No wonder that along the way, she rarely saw anyone walking for as long as she did. Many would suddenly appear and then vanish just as quickly.

Things like stall and shop rentals and purchase tokens are what the Trialists would need to buy for trading purposes.

The price of these tokens is determined by the location and size of the street, becoming progressively more expensive as one gets closer to the Trial Center.

The cheapest stall rental costs 1 Source Power per hour.

If one were to purchase such a stall, it would cost 100,000 Source Power.

Shops are even more expensive; the cheapest small shop rental is 10,000 Source Power per month, and to purchase one would cost at least 1,000,000 Source Power.

So, those who can afford to buy stalls or shops are Trialists with quite a good income of Source Power.

Most people conduct trades by renting stalls in the outer areas.

These stalls can not only be used normally, but also can activate an automatic selling mode for double the rent, allowing goods to be sold at set prices even when the Trialist is not present.

However, there’s no mechanism to enforce pricing and quality control. When buying here, you really have to rely on your own judgment. If you get swindled, there’s nowhere to complain—you just have to accept the loss.

She would have to explore the outside more to understand the market better before choosing to make any transactions, or she might not even earn back the rent.

As for the Trial World Entry Tickets, unlike the previous lucky roulette, these can be purchased directly with money, albeit at a much higher cost. An entry ticket to a One Star compatible Trial World is 100,000 Source Power, ten times what it costs to try your luck with the lottery.

An entry ticket to a Level 9 compatible Trial World costs an astronomical 100 trillion Source Power.

The prices for physical Source Power tokens and dual-high tokens are even higher.

Mu Ying was astounded by this discovery. She used to think she was quite “wealthy,” but now she suddenly felt that her own possession of less than 100,000 Source Power seemed quite meager—not even enough to buy an entry ticket.

No wonder only now had she gained entry eligibility to this special world. Going any further without sufficient Source Power would have rendered her unable to do anything here.

Indeed, trials are not an easy task, and she still has a long way to go!

But thankfully she had laid a solid foundation for herself—three initial Trial Worlds were her confidence boosters.

The last avatar she had seen before she entered this world was like those she had seen before.

After consideration, she bought the cheapest Black Cloak avatar, preparing it for times when she might need to hide her identity—it wasn’t expensive, after all.

If she always appeared as she is now, Mu Ying worried about exposing her physical appearance. If she made enemies here, and as everyone was a Trialist from the same universe, it could reveal her real-world identity and bring her danger.

Likely, the person who sold secret manuals at the stall did not look like that in reality.

This Black Cloak is not just the image of a person wearing a cloak but an actual cloak; the hat section is peaked, but the inside is empty, without any facial features. However, it allows for communication through speech, and its movement is a floating motion, gliding more smoothly than her running.

All Trialists using this avatar look the same, and even their voices are identical.

When Mu Ying first saw it on the street, she thought it was a ghost!

After browsing the mall, Mu Ying ended up only buying the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial Manual and the city map.

She bought the city map because of the paid teleportation feature. Multiverse City is vast, and without this feature, she had to rely on her legs to go anywhere. Even with her high agility and speed, it was quite a waste of time.

Time is Source Power, after all!

She bought the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial Manual to see if there were any rules she wasn’t aware of yet, to avoid taking any wrong turns in the future.

The city map is not a physical object but a holographic screen that can be summoned at any time within this world. It has the detailed layout of Multiverse City, can be zoomed in and out, and even allows for location searches and marking usual teleportation points. The teleportation cost is 1 Source Power per use.

From this map, it is evident that Multiverse City is circular in shape, with a total of nine concentric streets and two wide, intersecting main roads that divide the city into quarters. The Trial Center is located at this intersection.

Next, she looked at the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial Manual, which also wasn’t physical, only viewable on the reception room’s holographic screen.

She indeed found a lot of fresh information.

Firstly, regarding this special Trial World.

What makes it special is that it’s a Trial World created specifically for Trialists. Each universe owns a city here, and Trialists from different universes enter this world within their own universe’s city.

While all the cities are situated in one world, they are not interconnected—they operate independently. In essence, each Trialist entering this world can only move within their own universe’s city and cannot leave it.

Additionally, the avatars in this world are merely superficial and possess no special abilities nor can they cause any harm to other avatars.

The timing of this world is also independent of other Trial Worlds. When you enter this Trial World, time in other Trial Worlds doesn’t progress either.

What surprised Mu Ying was that the time flow in this world is exactly the same as in reality.

Meaning, having spent a bit more than a day inside now, a day has also passed in the real world. She must have used about twenty-five or twenty-six hours of Trial Time.

This expenditure was enormous.

In that much time, she could have spent over five months in Emerald World.

Realizing this, she quickly accelerated her pace of reviewing the manual.

Every minute, every second spent here was consuming Source Power!

Her speculations about the conditions to unlock the Second and Third Trial Worlds were also mentioned in this manual, aligning with her guesses.

There was also information about the allocation of Trialist slots.

Trialist slots are distributed by the Ten Thousand Worlds Trials, and the standard for distribution is the Universe Competition held every hundred years.

All Trialists can participate in this Universe Competition. During the competition period, every Trialist who has unlocked the Third Trial World will receive an entry ticket to compete.

In the end, rewards will be given to individual Trialists and their respective universes based on the competition results, with points calculated for both individual and team average performances.

Typically, the rewards include Trialist slots, Source Power, and Trial World Entry Tickets.
