I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 529: 512: Maeve’s Mother’s PastChapter 529: Chapter 512: Maeve’s Mother’s Past

Only after the novelty had worn off and she fully accepted the idea that every member of the Divine Race was a strongman did Mu Ying cease her actions.

Then she ran towards the lakeshore, and when she was still a hundred meters away from the bank, she obediently stopped, without the slightest intention of sneaking ashore.

Having not discovered any new plants on Lake Heart Island, she wanted to see if there were any in the mountains and forests on the shore, thereby evaluating if the natural resources of Creekwood Small World had any value in terms of physical transformation.

As far as the Divine Race is concerned, Mu Ying felt that the civilization level of the World of Gods was very high and extremely prosperous, with many things of material transformation value and a wide range.

Although the items related to the Divine Race she had come into contact with that could be transformed were not many—apart from her own Divine Body and Divine Soul, there were the egg liquid and eggshells from before, as well as the Divine Water Clothes she was wearing, the branches and leaves of the blue apple tree, and Maeve’s mother’s clothes.

But these things were not easy to transform.

The items of the Divine Race all carried Divine Power, and when transformed, they would be of Divine Artifact level.

Moreover, the price of physical transformation of these items was generally high, with the Source Power required all being in ten thousand units.

If one really wanted them, saving up Source Power could enable their transformation, but Mu Ying gave up on the idea.

Because once transformed, it would be very difficult to keep them hidden.

Take the Natural Bracelet she wore, its bracelet body could even hide inside her body, but it hadn’t fooled Grandpa Shom’s eyes before, who even guessed what Divine Artifact it was.

Grandpa Shom was only a Legendary Druid and hadn’t kindled Divine Fire; if he could see through it, what about the Demigods, the Gods?

They would surely not be fooled either!

A suddenly appearing Divine Artifact of unknown origin—only a fool wouldn’t think it came from the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial.

Could the secrets of her Third Trial World still be kept?

Even though she was the daughter of Correlon, with the Elf Clan as her backing, she always trusted herself the most, not wanting to put herself in danger and rely on the protection of others.

So those items with Divine Power couldn’t be transformed before she was strong enough to protect them.

After all, there wasn’t any significant threat around her now that required the help of these items.

Although she temporarily gave up on items with Divine Power, other things of the World of Gods were still feasible, like the specialties of Creekwood Small World.

Unfortunately, after searching Lake Heart Island thoroughly and looking around the lake, she didn’t find anything at all.

All the plants and animals within sight were common on Deep Blue Star and were also common on her previous world, Blue Star.

She lost her interest immediately and a sense of boredom washed over her, unsure of what to do to pass the time.

Mu Ying returned outside her residence, sat on the steps, and sighed while propping up her chin.

Nicole floated beside her, “Why don’t you go back to Lake Heart Island and play?”

Mu Ying shook her head, if she weren’t such a strongwoman, she might still go to the island and play by building houses, but now, with a light slap of her hand, she could knock down a tree, or crack a stone with a stomp, then a house built from the island’s wood and stones would be like paper to her, not to mention Maeve’s mother’s residence, built with Divine Power!

Compared to these, what intrigued her more was learning about Maeve’s mother’s past.

“Nicole, why don’t you tell me about mom’s past? How old is she now? Was she the Spring Water Goddess before? Where did she serve as one...”

Once Mu Ying started talking, she couldn’t stop and bombarded Nicole with a series of questions.

Nicole had been with Maeve’s mother for over ten thousand years, and when she spoke of Maeve’s mother, her tone was full of admiration and excitement:

“Master is only thirty-five thousand three hundred and nine years old. At fifteen thousand, she passed her first Divine Position in Lanshui Small World as the Well Water Goddess. She served there for three thousand years, and in all three evaluations, she received top grades, and her Divine Power advanced to Apprentice Second Rank. Following that, she passed the exam to become the Well Water Goddess of the Thousand Island Great World. This time, she only served five terms, and her Divine Power increased to Apprentice Fourth Rank. At eighteen thousand, she successfully ascended to become the Spring Water Goddess of the Thousand Island Great World. She held the position for twelve terms which is twelve thousand years, reaching Divine Power Apprentice Fifth Rank. When she was thirty thousand, she resigned, preparing to conceive you on her own. One hundred years later, you, the Divine Embryo, were born, and Master took you back to the Divine Domain. While making the Divine Water Dress for you, she chose the Creekwood Small World and passed the exam to become the Lake Goddess here.”

Mu Ying was stunned by these numbers. Maeve’s mother was actually over thirty-five thousand years old, yet according to Nicole, a goddess of that age is still very young.

She had even more questions: “Nicole, at what age does the Divine Race usually start working?”

“Generally, it’s between ten thousand and twenty thousand years old. Applying for a Divine Position is very strict, and just reaching the Apprentice level in Divine Power alone,” Nicole said, “as I’ve heard from Master, without the gifts of the Laws after working, one would have to save up for tens of thousands of years. Additionally, one must pass exams in various abilities required for the corresponding Divine Position. There’s so much to learn, and it’s especially difficult!”

Mu Ying did some calculations; basing on her daily exchange of three hours of Trial Time, ten thousand years in the World of Gods is equivalent to ten years in the real world—and that’s a conservative estimate since she still has to go to the Witch World as well.

Does that mean, in the real world, it would take at least ten more years before she could apply for a Divine Position?

That time was too long. It was only the third year of the apocalypse, and she was already Level 9, not far off from reaching Level 10.

Level 18 for a Legend, Level 19 for a Demigod, and at Level 20 was when one ignites the Divine Fire.

What level would she be in ten years?

Even if considering the timeframes of the real world, Mu Ying felt it was so far away that she could hardly imagine it.

Mu Ying then inquired about the Divine Power’s ranking, salary, and term of service.

The Divine Power ranking of the Divine Race equates to the rank of a god, with Apprentice God, Low-level God, Middle-level God, and High-level God. Any higher levels were not known.

Each rank is further divided into nine grades.

In fact, before becoming an Apprentice God, there is another stage, that of a Young God.

Once a Young God’s Divine Power naturally progresses to the Apprentice level, that marks the official coming of age. There’s no fixed time limit, but it usually happens around ten thousand years old, give or take a thousand years. There’s no shortcut to this process; it must be experienced.

Starting from the Apprentice God, Divine Power no longer increases naturally but can only be improved through work, which is to manage Laws and receive the feedback of the Laws to enhance Divine Power.

The feedback of the Law is the Divine Power Crystal. These crystals can be absorbed and transformed into one’s own Divine Power. They also serve as a currency amongst the Divine Race and can be used to trade with other gods.

The salary is calculated based on a combination of four factors: the rank of the position, the level of the world, evaluation in inspections, and work experience. Each term is settled once every thousand years.

If you do well in your Divine Position and endure several terms, you can be promoted if performing exceptionally well. If you perform ordinarily, you may get a lateral transfer, but mistakes would mean demotion.

Among these factors, the rank of the position is slightly more important than the level of the world.
