I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 539: 522: Weakening in the Later Stages?Chapter 539: Chapter 522: Weakening in the Later Stages?

It wasn’t long before Mu Ying spotted what seemed to be a newly opened noodle shop, which occupied an entire tree house and even appeared slightly expanded, attracting quite a decent business.

Mu Ying entered the shop and ordered a bowl of spicy and sour sweet potato noodles, then found a vacant seat and sat down.

Shortly after she sat down, two more people came in.

“Boss, give us two bowls of meat mixed noodles, and make it quick, we still have to go to the test house!”

“Sure thing, I’ll add two more slices of meat for you, hoping you score well and make it onto the list!”

“Haha, thanks boss! Not sure about making the list; many big shots have tested here. It’s tough to get on the list these days. We’re just going to see how much we lag behind them.”

The two people who came in after Mu Ying exchanged a few words with the boss and ordered their meals, then sat at a table a bit behind Mu Ying.

The two were clearly warriors, burly and loud, their voices so loud during their casual chatter that their conversation could be heard throughout the shop.

Moreover, they seemed to be regulars here, not only familiar with the owner but also acquainted with other seated customers. Despite other available tables, they joined another table.

Mu Ying, sitting alone, quietly listened to the gossip.

“All the top-ranking big shots on the global level list have been tested in the test house. None of them anonymous. It seems that even for the big shots, weaknesses in their Profession are quite obvious! Teamwork is essential, it appears!”

“Who says the weak points are obvious? Our Lord is quite balanced!”

“What’s balanced about her! Although she’s our Lord, we must acknowledge her shortcomings!

She has the highest level, but her comprehensive combat power really isn’t much. She was quite good when compared only within our territory, but now that the global list big shots have tested, the gap becomes apparent.

Her attack item is obviously her weak spot. Not to mention comparing her with Draco, Atom, and Maz, she’s currently only ranked 15th in attack, even falling behind Cornor, who stands at 18th globally! And that’s with her having a level advantage; our Lord is at level 9 while Cornor is only at level 8 with 5% progression!

The defense item should be the Druid’s strength, right? But she’s also second to Draco despite having a higher level!

The support list is now inferior to Li Luoxia. As for the speed item, she can’t beat Atom and not even Vinica.

Looking at it this way, the Lord’s level advantage is becoming less obvious. The Druid profession is really limited. It looks good for leveling up in the early stages, versatile, seems like she knows a bit of everything, but at high levels, she just doesn’t cut it. Being a jack of all trades, she’s a bit below others in everything.

Indeed, she doesn’t have particularly severe weaknesses, but there’s also nothing outstanding about her—it feels like an early game profession that weakens later on, with only the fast leveling as a perk.

Moreover, no one knows what our Lord has been up to lately; her level progression has been stagnant for over half a month now, and Draco is about to catch up to her.”

“Hey! Why are you boosting others’ morale at our expense? You’re just parroting those mocking our Lord on the World Forum! It’s irritating to hear!”

“Can’t deny they’ve got a point, our Lord’s combat power isn’t up to par.”

“Before this, our Lord alone dealt with the vampires, and the test house didn’t have dead data, how could it possibly be as bad as you say?”

“Maybe the vampires weren’t that powerful to begin with? Now it’s not about comparing with vampires, it’s about comparing with global talents!”

...

The argument on both sides heated up more and more, completely unaware that the person in question was sitting right beside them sipping noodles.

Mu Ying heard that many strong players had gone to the test house to test, and she was quite interested, so she decided to find Little Stone after eating to check the test results recorded on the test monument.

Although the test monument only displayed the rankings for each major category and the overall ranking, all the data of the testers were actually recorded. Aside from the testers themselves, Mu Ying was the only one who could see the detailed data, and that was exactly why she had set up the Talent List: to collect information on players’ strengths.

But any further discussion devolved into argument, which somewhat baffled Mu Ying. However, she wasn’t really angry and just quietly pretended to be a passerby.

“I’m saying you talk about the Lord’s Talent List ranking, you ought to clarify when exactly the Lord and others entered the test house to test. As far as I know, the Lord only tested once before the test house opened, right? I remember that the Cross-Regional Transfer Array wasn’t even finished then, what level was our Lord? Level 9?”

Suddenly, a voice interjected, and the noisy debate in the store fell silent instantly.

Mu Ying recognized the voice and turned her head to see, indeed, it was someone she knew.

Edwin, Draco, Xie Sen and, oh yes, Atom — almost missed him for his lack of presence — were they really teamed up? Even Atom was here?

“No way, not level 9! I just knew it wasn’t as you said!” exclaimed a person who had always been on Mu Ying’s side and had blind faith in her, finding evidence for rebuttal.

The player who had previously claimed that Mu Ying’s combat strength was weak and Druids were weaker in the late game stopped talking. He had overlooked this crucial point and, most importantly, he couldn’t afford to offend this new group of top players from the territory.

Mu Ying looked up and Edwin and the others recognized her. They winked at her and then said to the owner, “Boss, four large bowls of beast meat noodle soup.”

After ordering, they came over to her table. Noticing her changed hair and eye color and her discreet clothing, Edwin pretended not to know her and coughed lightly, “Beautiful lady, mind if we share the table?”

Mu Ying nodded. It was lucky that she knew them; any other girl would have been frightened off by the four men surrounding the table.

The stranger act didn’t last long, as it had been a long time since anyone had seen her. She hadn’t been active in the group chats either, as if she had disappeared. Edwin lowered his voice and asked her, “Out of seclusion? Is it going smoothly?”

“Not bad,” Mu Ying replied, “I think it might be a ‘Source Power’ type.”

She just didn’t want to be recognized so she could roam around the territory and eat without drawing attention. Without her signature hair and eye colors, she was indeed safe and didn’t need to hide too strictly. By now, she had already eaten most of her meal, so there wasn’t much concern. If worst came to worst, she could run away before causing any commotion. So she spoke freely.

Hearing this, the others knew she wasn’t too concerned about keeping her identity hidden.

“How about testing at the test house soon? There’s been a lot of speculation about your combat power on the World Forum lately,” Xie Sen reminded her.

“Sure, I’ll go after dinner,” Mu Ying also wanted to see what level she had reached by now.
