I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 527: 510: Residence of the GodsChapter 527: Chapter 510: Residence of the Gods

Maeve’s mother had to go to a Small World for work, which Mu Ying had heard about while in the egg: “How do we get there?”

“My Divine Domain has already moved to Creekwood Small World,” Maeve said, cradling Mu Ying in one arm while lightly tapping the air in front of her with the other hand. From her fingertip, a scroll made of water unfurled: “This is the map of Creekwood Small World.”

In Maeve’s mother’s hands, water truly came to life. If the Blue Witch was an expert at playing with water, then Maeve’s mother was the progenitor of water!

The scroll depicted a lifelike map of the Small World, with mountains, rivers, lakes, and seas all represented, drawn out in water of various colors.

Through this map, one could have a comprehensive view of the entirety of Creekwood Small World.

Although not every detail was shown, it was still quite remarkable, akin to modern satellite maps.

Areas with the most detail were those with water on the map, with lake areas having the most, followed by springs and creeks, and then rivers and oceans.

“As the current Lake Goddess of Creekwood Small World, I govern the Water Law related to this world’s lakes, allowing me to reach any lake in the world at any time. Should there be any changes in this part, I would detect them immediately. These are the privileges of a Law-holder.

Actually, with the control over this part of the Water Law, I can also access other bodies of water, especially those without a god in charge. For areas that do have a god, it’d be indiscreet to go there unannounced. It’s not very polite to visit without reporting in advance.

When you hold a Divine Position in the future, it will be the same. Under the same attribute Law, you can visit places where no god has taken office. But once a god has assumed the position, it’s best to obtain their permission before visiting, to avoid misunderstandings and disputes,”

Maeve meticulously explained to her, and then pointed to a large lake nestled deep within the biggest forest surrounded by mountains on the map: “This lake will be our residence in Creekwood Small World. Your Divine Water Clothes will allow you to move freely in the water without having to worry about being harmed by mundane water. When I’m working, you can play on the lake.

There’s also a small island on the lake that you’ll probably like. To get there, you must cross the lake, which is relatively safe. Additionally, it’s not too large and is surrounded by lake water, so going there won’t be considered an offense to other gods.”

Mu Ying looked carefully and only then noticed a small green area the size of a soybean in a lake the size of a bowl on the map.

“Are you ready, Baby Ying? We’re about to leave the Divine Domain!” Maeve said.

Mu Ying nodded, gripping Maeve’s mother’s arm tightly, her eyes filled with anticipation.

The map scroll of Creekwood Small World was put away, and an irregularly shaped water gate appeared in front of them. Maeve’s mother carried her through it.

They were enveloped in water, and the visibility became slightly dimmer, but Mu Ying didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. It was like when she turned into a little turtle, swimming in Moon Lake.

But this water was different from the water in Maeve’s mother’s Divine Domain. The water in the Divine Domain felt purer and more spirited, so beautiful it almost didn’t seem real, while this water felt more like the water Mu Ying had seen before.

They were already in the lake, the water pushing them up to the surface.

Compared to the Divine Domain, Mu Ying felt much more familiar with the landscape here.

The bowl-sized lake on the map actually wasn’t small at all, and seemed to be about two hectares.

It must have been the height of summer, as the sunlight was somewhat scorching. The lake’s surface shimmered with light, and the distant greenery of the mountains was lush and dripping with vitality, presenting a scene brimming with life.

The lake was indeed vast, but upon closer consideration, if a lake the size of a bowl on a map scroll five meters long and two meters high was this large, then this world must be quite small indeed, which is no wonder it’s called Creekwood Small World.

As she surveyed the surroundings, Maeve’s mother set her down.

Her little feet touched the surface of the lake, creating small ripples as she stood steadily on the water, quite similar to the “Water Walking” spell in effect in reality.

Maeve’s mother advanced two steps, formed a seal with her hands, and a great amount of water appeared from her palms. On the surface of the lake ahead, it condensed into a small house, onto which the sunlight fell, as if gilding a palace with gold.

In Mu Ying’s perception, the water that formed the house was identical to that in Divine Country.

“All set! This is Mommy’s residence in Creekwood Small World. I’ve placed a portal to the Divine Domain inside the residence. Even when Mommy isn’t here, you can come and go from the Divine Domain as you please,” Maeve said.

“Mommy, is this water from the Divine Domain?” Mu Ying asked curiously.

Maeve nodded, “You can say that. Actually, they are the manifestation of Mommy’s Divine Power. The Divine Domain itself is an incarnation of Divine Power.”

Mu Ying understood that in other words, the Divine Domain was constructed of Divine Power.

She followed Maeve’s mother into the residence.

The residence was shaped like a giant European garden gazebo, and the water-blue structure still looked as if water flowed across it, though it felt warm and hard to the touch, like jade.

The inside held only one large hall, open and unobstructed with no partitions.

In the center of the hall was a water gate, presumably the portal to Maeve’s mother’s Divine Domain. On the east side of the gate, there were two water beds, one large and one small, and on the outer side to the west, there was a swing also condensed from Divine Power.

Besides that, there was nothing else, excessively simple.

Mu Ying yawned, her eyelids growing heavy, even though she still very much wanted to explore the surroundings.

“Baby Ying, are you tired? Sleep is beneficial for a Little Young God. Mommy also needs to sleep for a bit to take over the Water Law governing the lakes in Creekwood Small World. The initial handover is always a bit troublesome and takes a fair amount of time. If you wake up before Mommy, you can play within the lake’s boundaries, including the residence and the Lake Heart Island behind it, which are all areas where you can move around freely. But when Mommy isn’t here, don’t go ashore. If you get tired of playing, come back to the residence to sleep. I will have Nicole accompany you...”

Seeing her precious child barely able to keep her eyes open, Maeve quickly gave her instructions. But before she could finish speaking, Baby Ying had already closed her eyes. Maeve hurriedly cradled her and placed her on the small water bed.

“Nicole, take good care of Baby Ying. If she wakes and I haven’t yet, no matter where she wants to play, you must follow and protect her. Also, remind her not to go ashore. If she wants to go ashore, don’t rush. Wait until I have fully received the Law, and then I’ll take her to visit the nearby Mountain God in the forest. We might even find her a playmate!”

“Yes, Master!” Nicole obediently stayed by Mu Ying’s bedside, draping over Mu Ying like a small blue blanket.

Maeve took one last look at her darling child’s cute sleeping face before finally drawing herself to her own bed with reluctance. Unlike her usual sleeping position of lying flat with her hands folded on her abdomen, this time she lay on her side facing Baby Ying and closed her eyes.

The Lake Goddess’s residence fell completely silent.
