I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 532: 515: Rolling with MomChapter 532: Chapter 515: Rolling with Mom

“Why do we have to wait so long?” Mu Ying didn’t quite understand. If they missed a chance to meet, did they really have to wait that many years?

“Young Gods under a hundred years old have predetermined times for each hibernation, a total of four times. The first time is shortly after they hatch, and they will sleep for nine years, the second time for eighteen years, the third time for twenty-seven years, and the fourth time for thirty-six years. After each awakening, they will have about three years of lucidity.

Generally speaking, after a Little Young God sleeps once, they will stay energetically active for three years and will then sleep again at twelve years old. They will sleep for the third time at thirty-three years old, awaken at sixty, sleep for the fourth time at sixty-three, awaken at ninety-nine, and after a few months of stabilization, they can go to test their Divine Power. At that time, they will be just a hundred years old.

Xiao Dian is on this schedule, she is twenty years older than you and just entered her third sleep fourteen years ago.”

Mu Ying understood and calculated the time, then suddenly said, “So if you go back to sleep soon after waking up, can you stabilize your Divine Power and Talent by the age of ninety and take the test? Won’t that have an effect on the body?”

“There’s no impact on the body, but the sleeping process is quite boring. Little Young Gods usually fall asleep passively; it’s rare for them to sleep voluntarily,” Maeve finished, feeling conflicted. Baby Ying wasn’t thinking about going back to sleep again, was she?

Sure enough, she heard her say, “I’m that unusual Little Young God!”

“Swings are so much fun, doesn’t Baby Ying want to play for a few more years?” Maeve coaxed gently.

“Play, yeah, play for three days, ah no, three days is too long, just an afternoon is good!” Mu Ying extravagantly decided.

Maeve regretted telling her that early sleeping had no effect on the body. She pinched Mu Ying’s chubby little face, “Doesn’t Baby Ying want to spend more days with mom? Being a god is so boring on my own.”

“Mom, don’t you need to sleep?” Mu Ying asked.

“After becoming an Apprentice God, Divine Power stops growing, so passive sleep is no longer necessary. I only need to sleep when taking control of Laws or absorbing Divine Power Crystals for work, but those are voluntary sleeps and quite brief,” Maeve explained.

“Then has mom absorbed all her Divine Power Crystals?” Mu Ying asked again.

“No, I have already used most of the Divine Power Crystals I earned from working. The remainder is the Pregnancy Subsidy and the Young God Subsidy after you hatched, which is a total of two hundred thousand Divine Power Crystals that mom hasn’t used.” Maeve felt the conversation turning odd.

“Then if mom sleeps with me, it won’t be boring. I’ll process Divine Power, and mom can absorb Divine Power Crystals. Nicole said our salary can increase greatly if we strengthen our Divine Power!”

Mu Ying felt this was a good idea, believing that surely the sooner Divine Power Crystals were spent the better.

The sooner they’re used, the sooner Divine Power increases. The higher the rank, the higher the starting salary. It’s a virtuous cycle that can delay the decline of waning Divine Power.

Maeve: “...”

For the first time, she realized that her Baby Ying was unlike any other Little Young God.

I don’t know which word to use to describe it, well, despite being very young, she already resembled those ancient gods who were hundreds of thousands of years old, single-mindedly striving to enhance their Divine Power, seemingly uninterested in enjoying life and having fun.

Still holding a sliver of hope, she asked nervously, “Does Baby Ying want to quickly digest the Divine Power and grow hair to become beautiful? Is that why you’re so eager to sleep?”

Mu Ying decisively shook her head. Although this was an important reason, she would absolutely not admit it: “I want to digest the Divine Power sooner so I can go take the test, then study hard and qualify for a Divine Position to earn Divine Power Crystals! Mom, you have to work hard to improve your Divine Power too, absorb it when you have Divine Power Crystals!”

“Mom won’t absorb them; I’ll save these two hundred thousand Divine Power Crystals for our Baby Ying. That way, when you become an Apprentice God, you can quickly accumulate Divine Power and get promoted to a Low-level God sooner,” Maeve said as she stroked her head.

“I don’t want them!” Mu Ying was moved. The Divine Power Crystal was something that gods above the rank of apprentice needed to enhance their Divine Power and sustain their life. Giving it to someone else was akin to giving away one’s own life, and though it was indeed very helpful to her, she didn’t want it like this: “This is the compensation for your hard work in bearing me, Mom, you should use it. Absorb it soon, and as your Divine Power increases, your salary will go up. Over tens of thousands of years, you’d lose so much! And more than that, I would prefer to have you with me for a long and lasting time. Use the Divine Power Crystals! I will earn whatever I want on my own!”

Having managed to get a living mom, Mu Ying certainly didn’t want her to have a shortened life because of herself.

She had already incurred a significant loss by carrying Mu Ying alone, and her Divine Power might have even decreased.

When Maeve heard her say she hoped to have her company for a long and lasting time, her heart melted.

She thought back to when her own parents returned to nature, a time when she felt terribly upset and even thought life was meaningless. If it weren’t for seeing other families with Little Young Gods and deciding to bear Baby Ying, she might not have carried on.

Now, her motivation was to work hard, save up Divine Power Crystals, and provide a better life for Baby Ying, making her future easier.

Putting herself in her shoes, if she didn’t make an effort to improve herself, and one day she returned to nature, leaving Baby Ying alone in the world, how heartbroken she would be! Moreover, having chosen to bear a child on her own, the prospect of giving birth to a sister any sooner than four hundred thousand years was practically impossible. By then, her Divine Body would surely be unable to endure another birth, and her lifespan would sharply decline.

The day to return to nature would inevitably come, but she still ought to strive to accompany her for a longer time.

Maeve suddenly felt a surge of fighting spirit: “Baby Ying is right, Mom should indeed strive to enhance her Divine Power and live longer to accompany Baby Ying for a while longer. However, these two hundred thousand Divine Power Crystals are partly a reward for Mom and partly for a newborn Young God, so let’s split them in half! After playing for three days, Mom will accompany you to sleep!”

Only then did Mu Ying reluctantly nod her head, still secretly deciding to earn more Divine Power Crystals once she started working, to provide for her mother’s old age and to extend her lifespan.

She still needed to hurry and test her Talent, receive the Inheritance Seed, so she could know exactly what level she was at and how to strive efficiently for a promotion and a salary increase!

“Alright, Little Young God, thinking about the affairs of ancient gods is no good. Carefree play is what you should be doing. Let’s go swing on the swings!” Maeve tapped her own treasure’s slightly furrowed brows and picked her up.

Since Mu Ying had promised to play with Maeve’s mother for three days before sleeping, she might as well enjoy herself thoroughly: “Mom, can you make another swing? We can have a swing competition!”

Maeve’s eyes sparkled: “How should we compete?”

“Push with about the same amount of Divine Power, and see who can fly farther,” Mu Ying said.
