I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 543: 526: The ChallengeChapter 543: Chapter 526: The Challenge

Druids can only start practicing large animal Wild Transformation at level 7, and how many Druids are above level 7? And of those, how many have successfully learned the Wild Form of a large animal?

On the forums, there are plenty of Druids who are level five or six and haven’t even mastered the Wild Transformation of a small terrestrial animal!

After all, to learn Wild Transformation, one has to be a “Wild Man” in the wilds for a period of time. Mu Ying has a Space Ring, which makes it convenient for her outdoors, but it’s much more troublesome for ordinary Druids, and it’s not easy to find a suitable animal model for transformation.

Moreover, Wild Transformation is indeed very flexible, and your strength entirely depends on the animal you transform into, which makes it hard to define specifically.

Also, Mu Ying’s Wild Form indeed added a lot to her defensive items, so her words weren’t entirely an excuse. She just concealed the existence of the Natural Bracelet.

After Mu Ying explained the situation with Wild Transformation, Draco and the others believed her explanation.

Edwin, stroking his chin, said, “Are Druids’ Profession Skills really that powerful? In that case, Druids can’t be considered a panacea Profession after all. Even if their Spells are not strong, as long as they train well in Wild Transformation, they can get a huge boost in various areas! The speed, strength, and constitution of many animals are stronger than humans. There are too many animals that fly in the sky, run on the ground, and swim in the water, large and small, miniatures... With just this one skill, you could handle most combats, which must be the Druids’ core skill!”

“But you still need to level up first. I can now only learn large, medium, and small animal forms, whether terrestrial, marine, or aerial. The Brown Bear is a large one; I can’t do anything larger than that. The Owl is a small one; smaller than that won’t work either, and each form is very difficult to learn. It’s not so easy,” Mu Ying said.

She could already practice a variety of animal forms, but so far, she had only learned the forms of the wolf, turtle, owl, and brown bear.

The process of learning each one was not too pleasant.

“I suddenly think I should find a Druid as a team member,” Xie Sen suddenly said.

Edwin: “??”

“Are you going to abandon your brothers?”

Xie Sen seriously said, “I often need to move around in the forest, and having an animal companion is very important. With a Druid in the team, wouldn’t that be like having a bunch of animal companions? You can transform into whichever you want. How great is that!”

“Although but... that seems quite reasonable,” Edwin wanted to object but couldn’t find a reason and could only say, “Druids like Mu Ying are hard to come by, and she has an entire territory to make money for her. She doesn’t need to rely on combat to accumulate Professional Experience, so she doesn’t need to team up with us. How many animal forms can other Druids transform into?”

Seeing them seriously considering finding a Druid to team up with Xie Sen, Mu Ying was utterly bemused. This thought process was peculiar; would a normal person use Druids as animal companions?

She chose to change the subject: “Draco, are we still going to spar? I’m also curious about what level of defensive power I really have, but I haven’t had the chance to test it in battle. I rarely get to do close combat since I mostly resolve enemies with ranged Spells.”

In a serious life-or-death battle, she always preferred the most secure method, where the enemy’s attack couldn’t even reach her as she defeated them from a distance.

True hand-to-hand combat, using close combat abilities against the enemy, was only necessary when she first arrived, and her Spells weren’t very powerful.

So for her, the A-level physical attack and SSS- Defense were just numeric values, and how much they would perform in an actual battle was beyond her knowledge.

“Fight!” Draco said without any hesitation.

He was a war enthusiast, especially skilled at hand-to-hand combat. An opponent like Mu Ying seriously roused his fighting spirit.

“Lord, if you could set up a dedicated sparring training ground within the territory, that would be great. We could use it for times like this,” Edwin said.

“You think I don’t want to? But I can’t guarantee safety,” Mu Ying said helplessly.

She knew very well that having a place for the Local People to spar—whether a training ground or arena—would be great, but the key issue was safety!

She herself dared to try because she had the Guardian Armor and was rather resilient. Plus, she knew Healing Spells.

“Where shall we spar?” Draco asked her.

Mu Ying intended to suggest her Plantation, where the space was more extensive and there were no outsiders. In that area of the Plantation, her Guardian Armor was at its thickest, and the grass field used for the party before was spacious enough for a fight without damaging the plants.

But then she had another thought: emotions generated during the sparring session shouldn’t be wasted. If she could also arrange a secret sparring ground in the Crystal Underground City, not open to the public for the time being and only available for limited use by her own people, could the collected emotions promote Little Stone to develop a special facility with a similar function?

Even if there were still safety concerns, as long as it wasn’t made public and involved trusted friends who could stop at the right point, it should be quite safe to scrimmage.

With this in mind, the words on the tip of Mu Ying’s tongue changed shape: “Give me two days, I’ll set up a spacious scrimmage ground underground, then I’ll send you the teleport coordinates. We can all spar in there, but safety isn’t guaranteed, so everyone should hold back appropriately.”

“Good!” Draco was already eager to try, and even tasty grilled meat couldn’t tie his heart down.

“I want to try too,” Atom said.

“Sure!” Mu Ying agreed promptly.

For her, Draco and Atom were different types of opponents. The former was strength and defense-oriented, while Atom was speed-based, offering different levels of challenge.

Compared to Draco, Mu Ying felt that facing a speed item opponent was a greater challenge.

She decided to rely solely on Wild Transformation for close combat when sparring with Draco.

Otherwise, sticking to her usual fighting methods as her speed was stronger than Draco’s, it was unlikely she would get close enough to him for a proper fight. In that case, he would almost have to rely on the Crosshair Skill he recently traded from her to shoot arrows to harm her, defeating the purpose of the bout.

On the other hand, Atom, with his remarkable low-key Talent and speed advantage, might require Mu Ying to be more on guard, allowing her to test her usual fighting tactics.

“I’ll pass, just watching is fine for me,” Edwin said.

His control ability was decent, but everything else was lacking.

Xie Sen wanted to try, too, but if the location was underground, many of his abilities would be limited. Besides, with a lower level, the fight would be predictable, and there would be no point in sparring.
