I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 537: 520: Trial ArrangementChapter 537: Chapter 520: Trial Arrangement

Feeling the Divine Power on the Little Cocoon thinning, Maeve knew that Baby Ying was about to awaken; she eagerly watched the cocoon on the flower stand.

She wasn’t worried at all about any accidents during Baby Ying’s talent test.

Because young gods who met the standard for multiple affinity laws were rare but excellent, and all young gods could at least display affinity to one basic law at the level of controlling a Divine Position— there had never been an exception.

Whether talent was good or bad depended on the difference in salary and promotion speed; even the best talents would ultimately return to the cosmos, only living a bit longer. Few of the Divine Race obsessed over this.

Of course, Baby Ying cared quite a bit about this; she had always wanted to work early to earn Divine Power Crystals. But before she hatched, the color of the Divine Marks on her egg had already shown that she didn’t have just a single affinity talent. If not for a single affinity talent, she would be a little prodigy, and if she met the standard for dual affinity laws, she would be a bona fide prodigy—three would make her a major prodigy.

No matter what, her own Baby Ying was a prodigy. So she just waited for Baby Ying to come out and was ready to praise her!

As soon as Mu Ying awakened, she saw Maeve’s mother’s sparkling eyes. Before she could share the good news, she was embraced tightly, receiving a kiss on her face: “Our little genius is out!”

“???” Mu Ying wiped her little cheek: “Mom, you haven’t even asked me how many Affinity Laws I detected!”

“Definitely more than one,” Maeve confidently said.

Mu Ying held up four stubby fingers.

“Four?” This Maeve had also anticipated: “Which kinds are up to the Divine Position standard?”

“Wood, Water, Earth, Fate,” Mu Ying listed one by one.

“!!!” Maeve was extremely surprised now: “All four met the standards? Did you get the knowledge for the respective Divine Position paths?”

Mu Ying raised her chin proudly and nodded.

“Oh my!” Maeve hugged her darling, her eyes filled with amazement: “Baby Ying is amazing! Mom has lived for tens of thousands of years and has never come across a talent with four law affinities, especially with the rare and special Law of Fate! Positions for this law are few, but the salary is very high!”

“Hehe,” Mu Ying grinned, showing her teeth: “When I start working, I can take care of Mom!”

“I don’t need you to take care of me!” Maeve stroked her smooth head: “With so many affinities, you need more Divine Power to advance in rank; you might not get raises as fast as your mom, who specializes in a single law. You have to take on multiple tasks and hold multiple Divine Positions to earn more. Although you’ll definitely live much longer than gods like me, it will also be tough.”

“I’m not afraid of hardship!” Mu Ying said firmly, “Mom, let’s go back to Creekwood Small World! I want to study quickly and pass the Divine Position exam soon!”

She had already realized she could not afford to waste time enjoying life in the World of Gods; she was fully prepared to become a ultimate hardworking employee!

“Don’t you want to visit the market outside anymore?” Maeve remembered she was quite interested in the market of Central City before.

Mu Ying shook her head: “No!”

She still had a huge stack of knowledge points to learn in her spiritual world! Although she was curious about the items in the market, the market would always be there. Once she mastered the Law Traversing Technique, she could come here later; there was no rush for now.

Moreover, she had already realized that the items sold in the marketplace were not necessities for the Divine Race, but merely things that enhanced the happiness of their life.

If compared to the Blue Star before the apocalypse, it was probably like a department store, encompassing aspects of the Divine Race’s food, clothing, shelter, and transportation.

However, the difference was that the Divine Race did not need to eat like humans do; they could survive without food and drink, so these items were not necessary.

With Divine Power Crystals to absorb and enhance Divine Power, why bother buying these things for the sake of culinary desires? If she really craved something, she could simply finish the Trial Time and go back to the real world to eat.

With that thought, the marketplace’s appeal to her diminished significantly.

Another point was that she had almost used up the Trial Time she had saved for so long. By returning to Creekwood Small World soon, she could peacefully use the last bit of time to briefly review various inherited knowledge to plan her future learning tasks.

Thinking of this, she urged, “Mom, let’s go back~”

“I really can’t handle you!” Maeve chuckled as she pinched her little nose, and directly took her away from Central City, returning to the Creekwood Small World shortly after.

This Talent test had taken one year, which equated to one hour of Trial Time.

After returning to their residence in Creekwood Small World, Mu Ying continued her slumber and spent three years quickly scanning all the inherited knowledge of light, thereby preliminarily clarifying what she needed to learn.

First were the general knowledge contents in gray, which included introductions to the Divine Race itself, the Divine Rank and Divine Position system, and an overview of the World of Gods and its sub-worlds.

It can be said that this general knowledge content included all knowledge in the World of Gods, except for Law Power and Divine Position inheritance.

After reading part of it, Mu Ying discovered a new ability of the Divine Race: “An eidetic memory for general knowledge unrelated to laws.”

She could perfectly remember the inherited knowledge in the gray section by merely glancing at it once, but this was not the case for other sections of knowledge.

This meant that this part of knowledge was the easiest for the Divine Race to master.

Although the inheritance of gray light could not directly enhance her own strength, this knowledge could help her understand this world better, so Mu Ying placed this part at the very front of her learning sequence.

The inheritance of Law Power and Divine Position were segmented based on stages, similar to tiered salary levels, including Young God, Apprentice God, Low-level God, Middle-level God, and High-level God, etc.

Currently, she could only view the knowledge inheritance of the Young God stage and the Divine Position at the Apprentice God level. She could only vaguely see the higher Divine Positions and was unable to view beyond the High-level God in the Power inheritance.

These two parts of the content overlapped; some Divine Positions required mastering specific powers of certain laws, so she planned to reference both parts mutually in her studies.

After reaching one hundred years old as a Young God and until she advanced to becoming an Apprentice God, she would not be forced into sleep again, except when accessing knowledge inheritance from the spiritual world. Practice time did not require sleeping.

Mu Ying quickly arranged her future learning plans. Her accumulated Trial Time was gone, and in the future, she would only have the three hours of Trial Time exchanged daily.

She planned to spend two and a half hours in World of Gods for trials, staying two and a half years at a time, and the remaining half-hour in Emerald World, staying about three and a half days, progressing equally in both worlds.
