My Players Are So Fierce

“I walk unsteadily because I just got injured, you damn senior brother.”

Master Minks reacted more passionately.

He cursed, didn’t shake Old Flywheel’s hand, but instead strode forward to give his long-unseen senior a hug so tight that Old Flywheel could barely breathe. Then he said hoarsely:

“I saw him… He’s the ‘Scholar’! That bastard… he tricked us, he let down everyone who had hopes for him.”

“Ah, I figured.”

Old Flywheel knew who Minks was talking about. He reached out and patted his younger brother’s shoulder, saying:

“I suspect that Little Bach might have guessed it too, but she’s currently assisting Marshall Loren in the Kato area against the Bonebite Clan’s attack, can’t come here… We’ll talk about these things later.

Right now, we must deal with the chaos in the city; I haven’t been back for a long time, so you’ll have to guide us through the interior of this large database.”

“That’s exactly why I’m here!”

Minks glanced at the master mechanics gathered behind him.

These are the absolute backbone of the Charldo Harbor Mechanic’s Guild, among them quite a few mechanics are from the same era as him and Old Flywheel. One could say, the mainstream field of engineering on the Continent is being led by these people.

The mechanics who were invited had also prepared themselves, each carrying strange but powerful equipment.

Several burly, fully armed mountain people cavalry carried some heavy instruments, ready to venture into the building ahead, supporting the data exchange and collection of Charldo Harbor’s Calculating Pearl calculations. The dangers hidden in the large database are not few.

The non-combatant Half-body Men desperately needed the assistance of these powerful mountain people.

Minks did not spend more time reminiscing with Old Flywheel. After confirming the cooperation personnel, Minks himself opened the door to the large database, and everyone entered single file through the slowly opening gear-like mechanical door.

“We must bring the main processor offline immediately. Without it mediating communication, the Calculating Pearl data exchange in the city is about to be cut off, and the destruction program released by the Scholar will no longer be able to share data causing more damage.”

Minks pointed at the passage on the left and said to Old Flywheel and the players:

“You go there! We’ll follow the middle path to destroy the energy systems, which will temporarily bring the large database offline, and also lock down the new-type walking machines developed specifically for warfare that haven’t been activated yet.”

“Wait!”

Ruyi shouted loudly:

“So, even if we destroy this place, we can only make those rebel machines unable to communicate? I thought you had some sort of remote control hub, if we control that, we could remotely shut down all the machines.

Does this classic ‘Mechanical Brain’ setup really not appear here?”

“Of course, we surely have such fundamental control cores manufactured based on cybernetic principles.”

Minks pointed at the sealed-off path on the left and sighed, saying:

“But that thing has already been locked by the Scholar’s destruction program, considering the technical prowess he demonstrated, I don’t think we can reclaim that remote control to manage all the city’s Calculating Pearls in a short time.

Look at the surroundings, friends, all the security mechanisms of the large database have been concentrated in that area; the machines here are security units specifically developed by the Half-body Men, with very exaggerated parameters.

In the current situation, getting close is very difficult.

Even if we forcibly shut down the energy here, that side has independent backup generators, enough to support it for at least four hours.

But after sunrise, it will surely stop working, so we just have to hold on until the first ray of sunlight…”

“How much danger will that bring to the city then? This is clearly a campaign scenario’s difficult option; I know it’s dangerous, but it’s also cool, we expatriates love high difficulty challenges the most, you deal with the other two areas, leave this side to us!”

Ruyi excitingly waved her fist and said:

“Let’s try to reclaim it; if we succeed, the mechanical chaos in the city will calm instantly, and thus the Half-body Men themselves would have saved our city and civilization! Hmph, that’s the true weight of a racial mainline!”

Siblings, will you join me in the adventure?”

She turned back and shouted to the Half-body Men players, and the next instant cheers and shouts rose. The Half-body Men players clearly saw this campaign’s difficult option the same way Ruyi did, but they weren’t afraid.

After all, the bigger the waves, the more valuable the Big Fish; everyone understands this truth.

“This…”

Minks was somewhat hesitant.

He glanced at Old Flywheel, who nodded and said:

“Trust them, my disciple Ruyi’s expertise in the Calculating Pearl’s data security field surpasses all the old fellows here combined. Although she keeps it hidden, I believe she has her unique method to accomplish this difficult task.

They undertake a perilous but once-and-for-all plan, while we serve as their support. If the expatriates’ adventure fails, we’ll proceed according to your plan to complete obstruction and destruction in the other two areas.

But considering the current situation…”

Old Flywheel glanced at his mechanical wristwatch, which clearly belonged to the creator’s style, and he said:

“I can only give you twenty minutes to attempt. Once the time’s up, regardless of whether you achieve the goal, we will immediately take action on both sides.”
