My Players Are So Fierce

Chapter 2955 -984: The Merfolk Assassins of Transylvania Are Ready! (Part 2)

“Hmm, this is indeed important intelligence. Thanks, Babro.”

In the embassy at Charldo Harbor, Murphy turned to Adel beside him with a gesture. The Shadow Intelligence Officer turned and left, immediately delivering the information he had just recorded to key figures throughout the city.

There were still six hours until midnight, which was enough time to focus on the defense of the city’s Port District.

“What about the second piece of news?”

Murphy asked, and Babro picked up the label on the table and glanced at it, saying:

“This batch of goods comes from a force called the ‘Martink Trading Company.’ I don’t recall any renowned smugglers in Charldo Harbor with that name, but managing to procure so many resources in secret proves they are quite skilled.

You just said it’s the force of Dusk, so perhaps you should search around Charldo Harbor.

It’s a lead.”

“Yes, it is indeed, and coincidentally, I’m accompanied by a group of excellent hunters always ready to intensify things for Dusk. They need just a name to complete a remarkable hunt.”

Murphy noted down the name and said to Babro:

“The situation in Charldo Harbor is a bit dire right now. Although I reclaimed the city walls, the number of Wolf People outside the city is still increasing. Most importantly, I’ve discovered some hidden dangers beneath the city that I must focus on, leaving me with no time to deal with the war outside.

So if you and your pirates are ready to join this war, I’ll assign you under Maxim’s command. Do you have any objections to this?”

“None, I’d be happy to engage in some safe and lucrative transport work in this kind of scenario.”

The Duke of Blood Fear laughed and said:

“Who wouldn’t like making money without fighting? But since you mentioned it, it means you have a plan for me, so go ahead, what do you want me to do? We’ve been through big things together, let’s not involve Lord Pa Ying to pressure me.”

“Alright, I’ll be straightforward then.”

Murphy tapped the table, speaking to Babro amidst the rhythmic sound:

“Let Claire command your fleet and join me in the upcoming events. I need your exaggeratedly powerful shotgun to bolster our forces, and we can discuss the future development route for the Blood Fear Clan. I guess you’ve been waiting for me to bring this up.

To be honest, when I left Transia, Milian specifically instructed me to secure you and your fleet.

Transia wants to rise and establish sufficient trade routes, needing a competent navy.”

“But you don’t even have a harbor…”

Babro weakly retorted:

“The previous harbors of the Posya Confederation weren’t excellent, and they were all in the Kato area, which is now occupied by the Golden Flower. You’d need to reclaim it before you can form a navy.”

“No, I don’t need the harbors in the Kato area.”

Murphy snorted, saying:

“I think your base, Blood Plunder Bay, is quite suitable as the first primary port for the Transia Navy. Anyway, it’s near the border with the Werewolf Kingdom, and given the future relations between Transia and the Werewolf Kingdom, I’m not worried about your supply and security issues.

Of course, you make a good point.

To establish a navy, we need our own harbor, so in your professional opinion, how is Ice Bay?

Is it suitable as a naval base?”

“Damn!”

Babro was shocked, cursing:

“You want me dead, right? Given the Blood Fear Clan’s feud with the Wam Barbarians, if I dared take people there, we’d probably be annihilated by Wam’s Temple that very night. They let me and Claire go last time because we participated in the God-Slaying operation and were favored by the Great God Wam, but such personal grace doesn’t easily wipe out clan grudges.”

“Such political and diplomatic issues aren’t matters you, as an admiral, need to worry about.”

Murphy shook his head, saying:

“You just need to tell me if Ice Bay is suitable for long-term fleet stationing. Milian will naturally handle the diplomatic aspects, and I have ways to ensure the Wam Barbarians pretend not to see your activities.”

“Uh, well, let me consider it. First, the environment near the northern polar Stormy Sea is more severe than the Misty Sea, but its maritime conditions are actually better than the Misty Sea. At least there aren’t wave fishmen everywhere, nor those scarier Mermaid Tide Hunters.

Moreover, during the Fourth Black Disaster, the Kingdom of Yishar’s fleet conducted several large-scale support operations through the Stormy Sea to provide supplies to Nordtof, proving the navigational safety of the Stormy Sea.”

Babro rubbed his chin, responding thoughtfully:

“The only issue is it was once the territory of the Kingdom of Yishar. But after the Ceylon people annexed the Kingdom of Yishar, that once-continent-dominant fleet has disintegrated.

King Louis can only receive one-third of the fleet at most, with the rest either joining the resistance on Helms Island or transforming into maritime firms specializing in that trade route. In this situation, if Transia can secure a harbor there before the Goldenrod Kingdom reorganizes its fleet, it could participate in the increasingly popular Stormy Sea trade network and seize a hefty share.”
