My Players Are So Fierce

Chapter 2954 -984: Transylvania’s Merfolk Assassins Are Ready!

Besides the “Plunderer,” the other six ships changed direction to bypass the island and approached the smuggling anchorage. The vampire pirates sent people in by small boats and, under Deputy Claire’s arrangement, obtained protective gear and weapons, while also delivering medicine and ammunition to the ships.

Given the fleet’s transport capacity, they couldn’t move everything out of the cave at once, so it’s merely part of the armament phase before entering Charldo Harbor for combat.

This batch of supplies intercepted by Murphy and Babro together was generally mediocre in quality, but abundant in quantity.

Weapons and armor enough to arm over thirty thousand people is considered a real treasure anywhere on the continent. If Babro can find a generous buyer, this single transaction could earn the Blood Fear Clan their first bucket of gold to weather through the crisis.

But as Babro said, the “treasure” Murphy gave is so hot that even a seasoned pirate has to treat it seriously.

At this moment, in the cabin of the Plunderer flagship quietly anchored on the sea, Babro opened a bottle of wine, took several gulps, and then used the quantum communication in the Voyager’s gear to contact Murphy, who was staying in Charldo Harbor.

“‘Treasure’ found.”

He told Murphy:

“Enough weapons, armor for thirty thousand people, and a large amount of medicine and ammunition—an astounding fortune. So, how do you plan to divide it?”

“What! Only enough for thirty thousand people?”

Babro assumed Murphy wanted to negotiate conditions with this treasure but was surprised that his report instead led Murphy to some kind of inexplicable anger on the other end.

He heard the Vampire Lord on the other side venting, seething with rage:

“We clearly agreed it was a quantity for one hundred thousand! Those Dusk Dog bastards apparently never intended to fully honor the agreement with The Master of Hunting. Poor Hunting Bro got screwed, damn it! Only a third of the quantity is truly disappointing. Look at the disgrace of these times!

Even the heretics don’t intend to act according to the contract. Is there hope left for this world?

That was my poor Hunting Bro’s money to save his life! Even that has to be saved? Even dead men’s money is greedily taken?

They’re just a bunch of damn dogs!”

“What, what, what?”

Babro was dumbfounded, the Duke of Blood Fear urgently asked:

“How is this related to The Master of Hunting and Dusk? What do you mean by ‘money to save his life’? If it’s The Master of Hunting’s money for saving life, then how do you know the exact location? Ah, this matter now seems a bit frightening.

Don’t tell me that you orchestrated all of this?

Can you even arrange things concerning the gods?”

“Tch, can’t be bothered to say much, was all for nothing to get my hopes up.”

Murphy replied very displeased:

“Since it’s only enough for thirty thousand people, you arrange the distribution yourself. Hog must get a third. As for the rest, find a way to sell it, and give Transylvania 50% of the proceeds, the remainder will be funds for the Blood Vulture Clan’s support in rebuilding the Blood Fear Clan.”

“Ah, this…”

Babro suddenly felt like he had punched a cushion.

Just now, when discussing with Claire, he thought this treasure was Murphy’s offer to win over the Blood Fear Fleet, yet it turned out, after all this time, that suave vampire never intended for Babro to claim all the profits.

See how he already had a distribution plan drafted in advance, which clearly shows Murphy merely wanted the Blood Fear Fleet to come along and help him tally the treasure.

It proves that when it comes to Murphy, don’t try to guess his thoughts; the Duke of Blood Fear’s entire fanciful notions about the treasure along the way have been nothing but sparring with air.

This made him furious, but then a subtle sense of relief arose, thankfully Murphy’s arrangement meant he didn’t have to decide whether to sell out to Transylvania at this moment.

It’s not that Murphy’s domain isn’t a good patron, but the pirate’s cunning nature leads him to want to wait and see, even if he’s about to sell out, he needs to pick the perfect timing to maximize the benefits.

“I will set off tonight with the Bone Biting Jackal Men heading to Charldo Harbor, at the latest arriving by dawn tomorrow, but there are two more things you should know.”

Babro relaxed, his tone returned to that previously playful guise, as he leisurely sipped his drink, elongating his voice:

“Firstly, the Werewolves might have found allies; we encountered a large number of Wave Fishmen on the way here. Their territorial presence here is already abnormal, think it over and you’ll realize, those guys’ goal is likely to attack Charldo Harbor via water route, completing a sinister inside-out coalition with the Bone Biting Jackal Men.

You need to prepare in advance.

Given the speed of Merfolk in the water, they may have already approached the harbor waters by now, launching their attack at midnight.

You landlubbers have never seen how Merfolk fight, so I suggest you consult some experienced sailors in town, don’t use those tactics against Werewolves with Merfolk.

They’re useless.

Merfolk have no concept of ‘morale.’

There are too many Merfolk, if they can’t be suppressed at the beginning during their tidal surge, that city will be flooded with swarms of Merfolk overnight.

Oh, by the way!

The Hidden Worship of Daguan is also in action, so Charldo Harbor might face an unscheduled tidal siege. That’s the kind of warfare Merfolk are most adept at; they will ride the waves amidst the storm to invade the mainland.”
