My Players Are So Fierce

Chapter 2981 -993: Ironclad Rebellion – Magical Edition

“What’s going on? Why have the mechs started attacking us?”

Just as Mosna sounded the alarm, the newbies who were chasing the Fishman Thugs in the Port District were completely unprepared for the attack from those mechs on the front line, and they were left dumbfounded by the firepower that suddenly struck from behind.

Those who weren’t killed on the spot were running around desperately looking for places to hide.

Piggy, along with a few newbies, rushed into a nearby residential building under the barrage of firepower. Before they could catch their breath, a Steam 800 model mechanical refrigerator in the corner, seemingly detecting the proximity of members like a smart landmine, suddenly exploded just as Piggy was about to contact others.

Flying parts knocked two newbies to the ground; fortunately, there was no explosive inside, saving their lives. But worse things were yet to come. He had just used Calculating Pearl to contact others nearby to move towards his location when, less than a minute later, a wailing firefighting mech crashed hard into the building’s wall.

Amidst flying bricks, the crazed machine dragging its sparking body started again, rushing towards Piggy and the other newbies.

These relentless blows completely broke Piggy’s defenses.

“Hell, I’ve been a veteran player for a while now. What scenes haven’t I seen? And you greet me like this?”

“March on!”

“Take an Iron Fist Missile from me!”

“Boom!”

A violent explosion erupted in the room, decisively and thoroughly solving all the problems with its effect.

A few seconds later, a sooty Piggy, supporting two newbies injured from the explosion, stumbled out of the soon-to-collapse building. They just happened to run into the student party’s Cheche and Meow Meow Shark at the street corner, and as soon as they met, they heard the furious scolding from Cheche:

“Stop using the Calculating Pearl to communicate! This thing has ‘betrayed’ us! It will provide our location to those deranged mechs and other mechanical creations. Poor Gebao and Char were just served by five mechs in succession, and two good Silver Rankers were blown to pieces!”

“Brothers down below, get out of the way!”

At this moment, Doujiang’s panicked scream echoed from their Adventure Assistants.

Everyone looked up in unison and saw the “Ironheart Annihilator” airship descending in a crash dive, billowing black smoke as it fell toward the Port District, with its bomb bay already open beneath it.

Under the wide-eyed gaze of Meow Meow Shark and Piggy, a series of black aerial bombs howled towards their position.

“Ahhhh!”

The surrounding newbies, not having seen such a scene before, immediately clung to each other and screamed at the top of their lungs as they watched the impending explosion.

At the critical moment, Cheche reacted quickly.

A teleportation spell enveloped everyone, relocating them before the bombs landed, but the time was too short to calculate the landing spot, so Cheche used random teleportation instead.

This approach is very risky; one misstep could send the teleportees plunging thousands of meters into the deep sea to drown.

However, luck was on their side this time. In the faint dizziness from the teleportation, the group found themselves on a high ground, from where they could still see the fiery explosions caused by the insane aerial bombs erupting along the streets of the distant Port District.

“Phew… Luckily I reacted quickly! You all owe me a life now. Remember to treat me to a meal when I visit your places for a tour!”

Cheche, with hands on his hips, was ready to gain some credit, only to find others uncooperative.

They stood dumbstruck, staring behind them. Cheche curiously turned around and saw another armed airship crashing down towards their location, with His Excellency Selakfenta inside the control room, assuming a heroic stance as if prepared to go down with the ship.

“Boom!”

Blinding flames erupted on the high ground in the next instant, leaving Cheche with no energy even to make a quip.

They had escaped the Ironheart Annihilator only to be caught by the Merchant Dynasty. It seemed like these guys were destined for airship mishaps today; their luck was truly wretched.

What happened to Cheche’s group was merely a microcosm of the “Iron Uprising” in the city of Charldo Harbor, with similar incidents playing out all over the place. The chaos was intensifying, showing signs of becoming uncontrollable. Neither the locals nor even the nearly insensate players could cope with the situation’s rapid decline.

Honestly, while Charldo Harbor was industrially advanced, the Half-body Men hadn’t quite reached the level of casually creating intelligent machines, so the only things capable of self-movement and creating chaos were these mechs. However, the most dangerous aspect of this rebellion was how Old Bach, using his reawakened singular computational power, utilized the Calculating Pearl as a rebellion medium.

This meant that any place within Charldo Harbor with the presence of a Calculating Pearl was now unsafe.

The mechanical refrigerator explosion Piggy encountered earlier was only a minor hazard; the large-scale blaze in the university town was set off by the gas leak ignited due to the Calculating Pearl’s control.

Ever since the Calculating Pearl was invented by Old Bach, it had been ingrained into every detail of Half-body Man civilization. Presently, the problem with it carried disastrous consequences, the most direct manifestation being the city gates being uncontrollably opened by mechanical operation.

The Wolf People outside the city, now like receiving a pardon, howled as they stormed through the gates into the outer city, while above, those airships, autonomously taking off under the Calculating Pearl’s control, began indiscriminate kamikaze attacks on the Defender’s positions.
