My Players Are So Fierce

Chapter 2973 -990: Hey, Buddy, Your Girlfriend Is Really Hot (Physically)…_2

“Then step aside! Marvin, let me confront him, you go outside and clean up the aftermath, deal with those hopeless individuals, and let your loyalists stay behind awaiting the end of the chaos.”

Minkus glanced at the sealed control cabin ahead and said to the Mechanical Sage, Marvin nodded, picked up a few parts from the blasted mechanical prosthetic that he had been eyeing for a long time, and quickly left this place of turmoil.

No matter what Minkus and Old Bach had to discuss, he had no intention of intervening.

This is really unbelievable.

At his level in the Mechanical Church, he was already regarded as a “honorably retired” veteran, yet he was inexplicably drawn into this cursed situation again, he truly didn’t plan to stay here for even a minute longer.

After Marvin left, Minkus restored the mechanical arms on his shoulders to a cane shape and prepared to step forward under the guard of the Squirrel Warrior, attempting to use his engineering skills to open the sealed cabin door. But just as he approached, the closed cabin door suddenly opened, startling Minkus.

But soon, he saw the figure standing on the chair in front of the control panel, swiftly tapping on the optical keyboard.

The figure heavy as a mountain in his memory, who had been absent from his life for over a century, Marvin was not wrong, compared to Minkus’ memory of the mentor’s elderly stance, he was now much younger, even that perpetually hunched back had straightened.

It was as if time had traveled backward.

Yet he still liked to wear that very gentlemanly attire, even the habit of wearing a tall hat remained the same. He still remembered Old Bach always liked to joke that he wore a hat to make himself look a little taller…

“You’re here, you look very tired, Minkus, my most cherished disciple.”

Old Bach was busy making the final adjustments on the assembly bench behind him for the will coding of the things being assembled, removing some unnecessary elements from the digitized memory and intellect, and adding some programs more conducive to combat and guarding.

Fortunately, it wasn’t his first time handling such things, avoiding the chaos, thus he could gently chat with his disciple whom he hadn’t seen for over a hundred years.

But the 13-minute self-destruct countdown quickly flashing on the optical projection above his head made Minkus’ eyes narrow, immediately raising the gun in his hand aiming at Old Bach.

“Stop it!”

He shouted:

“This is seven hundred meters underground! The collapse here will…”

“Don’t be foolish, the earth’s structure is not as fragile as you think, this is not a military cabin section, its self-destruct program isn’t so powerful, at most it will only destroy this cave, but Mother Earth doesn’t fear such attacks.”

Old Bach explained leisurely:

“I want to destroy this place not because I hate anyone, or intend to interfere with the city’s survival, I didn’t come with that purpose, the war above has nothing to do with me.

That’s just the aftermath of a sorrowful failure.

A sign of something more significant that is about to happen, of course, you could understand it as the roar of the next era accelerating.

Wait a moment!

My task here is nearing completion.

We still have time to reminisce… on the way here, I took some time to observe Charldo Harbor’s technological progress, the progress satisfied me greatly, especially the fourth-generation Calculating Pearl you crafted, despite being a bit outdated, it is practically the perfect creation.

If it were two hundred years ago, I would certainly feel proud of your ingenuity and astounding creativity, but unfortunately, I don’t possess that function anymore.

After personally removing the fluctuations of my emotions and emotional data, I lost this part of the capability, swapped for the ability to maintain a rational mindset in any situation, enabling me to implement all my wisdom and ideas in the most logical manner.

Thus, I clearly perceived Charldo Harbor’s… decline.”

Old Bach paused his actions.

He glanced at the progress bar for removing Penny’s memories, emotions, and emotional circuits, then turned back to look at his disciple.

He looked at Minkus’ aged face and beard, especially that beard which made Old Bach laugh aloud.

That was clearly the style of beard from his youth, it seemed his disciple indeed felt quite nostalgic for him, for an educator who regarded spreading knowledge as life’s duty, his disciple’s current posture was enough to make him feel satisfied with his already departed life.

He said:

“I have many disciples, but you and Flywheel are the most outstanding among them, I regretfully heard about those foolish matters that transpired between you and my daughter upon my return.

Sorry, Minkus, it was my fault for not teaching Little Bach properly, if it weren’t for that event, your collaboration with Flywheel would surely lead Charldo Harbor further down the path I left, but there really isn’t much to rejoice in that, since the path I left back then was fundamentally flawed.

Setting out from a flawed beginning, no matter how hard you try, it’s impossible to reach the correct endpoint, however, fortunately, we still have a chance to remedy this all.

As you can see, I’m preparing to advance a truly thrilling, world-changing project! I formally invite you now, Minkus, we can proceed as before, we can…”

“Bang”
