My Players Are So Fierce

Chapter 2986 -994: Murphy’s Administrator Career—From Dropping the Database to Going on the Run (Part 3)

You’re right!

All beings should wake from that lingering dream of an age that can never return, and follow you, this Pioneer of the Age of Chaos, to rebuild a new world. The Sanghai People will face a choice of fate, and Dusk will be utterly defeated because of it, like striking at a venomous snake—Murphy, you’ll slam straight into its seven inches.

They won’t even know why they failed.

You really are a sufficiently decisive Pioneer; you know how to abandon the wrong things at the right moment.

The creator didn’t misjudge you!

Nor did I…

“That won’t work.”

Just as Murphy entered the sentinel identification code Lady Spider had given him and was preparing to remotely write a formatting program, Mosna spoke in a weary tone:

“Your formatting permissions are high, but this virus program needs time to propagate. If you just unleash it unmasked like that, it may not be enough to fool the cunning Scholar and the self-check of the revival routines. If you want to achieve your desired goal—paralyzing all currently active relics of the creator in one stroke—you’ll have to adopt more threatening methods.

You need to write a memetic program.

When it’s activated for the first time, it will spread simultaneously, via quantum entanglement, across all currently running devices of the creator. Only then can even revival fail to stop it in time; if you’re lucky, parts of the revival algorithms themselves will get formatted.

That will force the Scholar to spend much more time to complete the rewrite of the drivers.

And although your permissions are high, your present identity authentication is only ‘Omega Lord’. That means your formatting memetic program cannot affect the foundational logic of those rule-level major projects personally defined by the creator.

For example, the Creator Engine, the Old Gods’ Prison, the Life Greenhouse, and the God’s Scepter system, etc.

If you want to format the programs and databases of those things, your authentication level will have to be raised further.”

“It’s fine. This is enough.”

Murphy caught the hidden implication in Mosna’s words, so he asked with a hint of anticipation:

“So, can you help me complete this memetic program that sounds so impressive?”

“I… can. In fact, I’ve already started writing its operational framework.”

Mosna said softly:

“But I still recommend you think carefully about whether this is worth it. Those are the Creator’s Legacy left for you. Even though they’ve been stolen by Dusk, as long as you take them back you can still strengthen your power.”

“If I were just some guy who can only posture by relying on the creator’s Golden Finger, if I were just some guy content to indulge in the desires of life, if I were just some short-sighted puppet dancing on strings…”

Murphy smiled and said:

“Then what right would I have to become Administrator Alpha? He wants me to prove I’m worthy of something before I’m qualified to use it—but I’m not so bored as to bare my soul for someone to critique.

Even without those things, I am still the Administrator!

I still have my little players accompanying me as we wage war to the ends of the earth, and without those machines Dusk will have no choice but to walk straight into the dark alongside their mad Chaos Shadow.

I’ve heard that when evil servants corrupt others, the first ones they harm are themselves. So I’m quite curious whether, without the aid of the Creator’s Legacy, their intimate binding with original sin will make them choke on their own poison first.

Ha!

The era of brandishing a looted greatsword to flaunt power is over.

From here on out, whether it’s me or them, we all have to start fighting for victory with our own fists.

Fortunately, I don’t think I’m going to lose.

One last confirmation: is it possible to format only the drivers without destroying the data?”

“Yes! That’s simple. All of the creator’s think tanks, big or small, have very strict self-protection mechanisms. After the drivers are formatted, they enter a sealed state and require specific read commands and devices to be reopened.”

Mosna said:

“I’ll build such devices; I just need some raw materials, which should be plentiful in the Sanghai Empire. But the Pharaoh King may have to say goodbye to his imposing flagship. I truly don’t believe that the Sanghai People’s millennia of accumulated knowledge is strong enough for them to write drivers for the Sun Ship, but Eden’s help should at least let the Origin Vanguard continue to soar through the heavens.

As you said, Officer Morphy.

After tonight, the Sanghai People will truly set foot on their own civilization trial.

But I think that rather than fear, the Sanghai People might ought to feel joy and anticipation, because this is exactly what they’ve always wanted.”

“No matter what they think, they have to accept all of this.”

Murphy watched the progress bar of the memetic program advancing on the optical projection in front of him and said in a low voice:

“If they only have the courage to call themselves the creator’s most beloved children when they’re wielding the creator’s relics, then perhaps from the very beginning they never should have called themselves that.”
