Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 48: Chapter 43 Dark Black Mountain Cave, A Place for Cultivation_2

Just a moment ago, Zhao Rong was shivering from the cold; the next, he was sweating profusely from the heat.

He wiped the sweat from his body and said, ”Damn it, what kind of cave is this? It’s like an ordeal of ice and fire. First, I’m freezing to death, and now I’m burning up.”

Just as Zhao Rong was sweating buckets and feeling as though he had suddenly arrived at the equator, he saw Tao Hua walking behind him. She was wearing a bikini, eating an ice pop, and cooling herself with a portable fan, looking entirely content.

Seeing Tao Hua, who had worn a sheepskin coat when it was cold and was now enjoying an ice pop with a fan now that it was hot, left Zhao Rong completely flabbergasted.

He gulped, looked at her, and said, ”In my entire life, I’ve seen many girls who know how to enjoy themselves, but you, Tao Hua, really know how to live.”

Seeing the envious look on his face, Tao Hua smiled and aimed the fan at him. ”Hero Zhao Rong, don’t be so formal. The reason I brought you into this cave to suffer the cold and the heat was for your own good.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong immediately protested, ”If it was for my own good, you would have given me a sheepskin coat when it was cold and an ice pop when it was hot!”

Tao Hua burst out laughing. ”Hero Zhao Rong, surely you know the principle of training in the harshest conditions—during the coldest days of winter and the hottest days of summer, right? To ensure you could level up to the greatest extent possible tonight, I deliberately had you experience this ordeal of ice and fire.”

Upon hearing this, Zhao Rong suddenly felt that after enduring the extreme cold and the current searing heat, his body seemed much stronger. Even the drowsiness and fatigue he had felt before were now gone.

Just as Zhao Rong felt the effects and began to appreciate the beautiful Tao Hua’s good intentions, she suddenly wrapped her arms around his waist from behind.

Startled by the sudden embrace, he felt her slender frame and asked in amazement, ”Tao Hua, what are you doing? Didn’t you just say that men and women should keep a respectful distance?”

Tao Hua laughed. ”Look at you, getting so scared. I’m not going to...”

Finishing her sentence, she held on to Zhao Rong and executed a forward somersault. Then, with a graceful 360-degree spin in mid-air, she landed on a meditation platform perched on a cliff inside the cave.

Zhao Rong sat in front, with Tao Hua seated behind him. She placed her hands on his back and abruptly channeled her power. As Tao Hua’s True Qi flowed from her arms into Zhao Rong’s body, wisps of blue vapor began to rise from the top of his head.

It turned out that Tao Hua, seeing the conditions were ripe, had begun to transmit her True Qi to Zhao Rong to help him level up. In this world, cultivating True Qi from level one to ten was relatively easy. But once a person surpassed level ten, the difficulty increased exponentially. Therefore, to help Zhao Rong advance his cultivation level, Tao Hua dared not hold anything back.

Time flew by. Dawn was approaching, yet Tao Hua continued to transmit True Qi to Zhao Rong, aiding his advancement.

Meanwhile, as Tao Hua was helping Zhao Rong level up in the cave, the three beauties fond of him—Miss Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian—were frantically searching for him. Normally, Zhao Rong and the three stunning women would have breakfast together every morning. Today, however, was an exception.

So, the three of them went straight to Zhao Rong’s dormitory. When they learned from his roommate and assistant that Zhao Rong hadn’t returned all night, the three women became as agitated as ants on a hot pan.

Miss Lili paced back and forth, saying, ”That Zhao Rong must have met some beautiful female disciple in the True Martial Sect. He’s ditched the three of us to fool around with her.”

Yu Lan looked around and said, ”I refuse to believe there’s any woman in the True Martial Sect more beautiful than the three of us.”

Hearing this, the assistant added fuel to the fire. ”Exactly! Zhao Rong must be on a date with some beauty from the sect. I just don’t get it. Is there any girl in the True Martial Sect richer than Miss Lili? Or one with a better figure than Yu Lan? Or more beautiful than Xuelian? How could he be so fickle?”

Though the assistant intended to frame Zhao Rong to boost his own image and curry favor with the three beauties, his words accidentally offended Miss Lili.

She slapped him hard across the face. ”Are you saying that I, Lili, am nothing but rich? That my looks, figure, and class don’t compare to Yu Lan’s and Xuelian’s?”

The assistant was still seeing stars from the slap when Yu Lan hit him with one of her own.

”And are you saying that besides my figure, I, Yu Lan, have neither money nor looks?” she scolded.

Yu Lan’s slap left the assistant dazed and disoriented. As Miss Lili and Yu Lan were taking turns hitting him, Xuelian spoke up in Zhao Rong’s defense.

”I believe Brother Zhao Rong is not the type to value lovers over friends, nor is he fickle. To prove to you all that he is a good man, I’m going to call him right now.”

As Xuelian finished speaking, Yu Lan thought, If Brother Zhao Rong dares to answer, he must be innocent. If he doesn’t... then he really does have something to hide.

Xuelian decisively took out her phone and dialed Zhao Rong’s number. However, to the surprise of the three women, the call couldn’t connect.

Seeing that his phone was unreachable, the three beauties grew frantic.

Miss Lili said, ”That Zhao Rong is definitely up to no good. Otherwise, why would his phone be unreachable?”

Yu Lan added angrily, ”He must be with some other woman. Why else wouldn’t he dare to answer our calls?”

Even Xuelian grew sad. ”Could it be? Has my Prince Charming really been snatched away by a female disciple of the True Martial Sect?”

While the three beauties were stewing in jealousy, the assistant hatched a plan.

He said with a snicker, ”Back when I worked for that dating agency, I secretly installed a tracking system on Zhao Rong’s phone. Now, to prove to you that he’s the type to abandon old companions for a new flame... I’ll use the tracker to lead you right to him. We’ll catch him in the act...”

With that, the assistant, phone in hand, led the three beauties toward the mysterious cultivation cave, following the tracker’s signal.

As he walked, he thought, If we catch Zhao Rong spending the night with another woman, these three will definitely dump him. Then, won’t I be able to take his place?

At the thought, he snickered to himself.
