Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 36: Chapter 33: Too Popular to Handle

At this moment, Zhao Rong was like the God of Gamblers, Chow Yun-fat, surrounded by an entourage as he entered the training center’s academic building.

Inside the academic building, Zhao Rong was quite puzzled when he saw all the teachers and students staring at him strangely. He asked Yu Lan, who was holding a parasol for him, ”Did we arrive late? Why is everyone looking at us like this?”

Yu Lan checked her watch and said, ”Brother Zhao Rong, we’re not late. There are still ten minutes until class starts.”

Hearing that they weren’t late, Zhao Rong turned to Lili, who was handing him water and wiping his sweat. ”Lili, did we do something wrong?”

Lili thought for a moment before replying, ”No, the few of us have always been exemplary students at the training center.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong frowned. What exactly is going on? Why is everyone staring at me like I’m a tiger or a lion at the zoo?

As Zhao Rong was pondering this, he overheard a bespectacled classmate nearby say, ”Damn, I’ve seen my share of ladies’ men, but I’ve never seen anyone this good at it.”

A bucktoothed student standing behind him added, ”Lili is the training center’s notorious berserker... But who would have thought that the good-natured and mild-mannered Zhao Rong would actually conquer her?”

A student with a large head and thick neck chimed in, ”And Yu Lan is our center’s infamous flirt who falls for every guy she sees. What kind of charisma does Zhao Rong have to make her willingly fall at his feet, even humbly walking ahead to hold his parasol?”

A student with a long torso and short legs said, ”Xuelian may be the most beautiful girl at the training center, but her personality is incredibly strange. She’s either taking her pet ghosts for a walk in the grove at midnight or wandering around deserted places at dawn... And yet, even an unfathomable girl like her has been conquered by Zhao Rong. Look! She’s obediently following him, not just carrying his backpack but his shoes, too.”

The surrounding students couldn’t help but marvel, ”My god, this Zhao Rong isn’t just a martial arts master with incredible skills; when it comes to chasing girls, his audacity and talent put him a cut above the rest.”

Hearing the discussion around him, Zhao Rong finally realized he might have taken things a bit too far. I’m just a bodyguard, yet I have three top-tier beauties waiting on me.

So, he quickly said to Yu Lan in front of him, ”Yu Lan, we’re already inside the building. Why do you still have the parasol open?”

Hearing this, Yu Lan reluctantly lowered it. ”Brother Zhao Rong, I’ll still have to hold it for you after school is over.”

After dealing with Yu Lan, Zhao Rong turned to Lili beside him. ”Lili, give me the water and towel. I can carry them myself.”

”But Brother Zhao Rong,” Lili said reluctantly, ”carrying your water and wiping your sweat are my favorite things to do.”

Seeing that she was insistent on serving him, Zhao Rong took the water bottle and towel from her hands. ”Lili, let’s pause the service for now. You can serve me again when no one is around.”

With that settled, Zhao Rong turned to Xuelian, who was following behind with his backpack. ”Xuelian, we’re about to go into the classroom. Please give me the backpack.”

Xuelian pouted as she handed the bag to him. ”Brother Zhao Rong, from now on, please entrust the task of carrying your backpack to me. I’m willing to be your little page forever.”

At her words, Zhao Rong drew a sharp breath. What kind of incredible dumb luck have I stumbled into? How did I get three top-tier beauties to treat me so well?

Once Zhao Rong felt the situation was under control, he walked into the classroom with great composure. However, the moment he stepped inside, he was met with a chorus of praise.

A baby-faced male student recited, ”To live is to be Zhao Rong; to die is to be Zhao Rong. My mind is filled with Zhao Rong, yet I can only ask: how does one woo a beauty?”

A freckle-faced student looked at Zhao Rong with admiration. ”After class, I’m definitely going to ask him for some pointers on how to woo women. If you had to name the best guy at picking up girls in this training center, it would have to be Zhao Rong.”

Even the homeroom teacher, standing at the podium, said admiringly, ”I’m not impressed by anyone but Zhao Rong. How on earth did he get those three mischievous girls to obey him and wait on him like that?”

Amidst everyone’s cheers and words of admiration, Zhao Rong walked to his seat. As soon as he sat down, a classmate gave him a thumbs-up.

Hearing all the discussion, Zhao Rong felt quite wronged. Truthfully, he had done almost nothing to make these three top-tier beauties revolve around him. This sudden flood of praise, respect, and envy was something he was completely unprepared for. Even though Zhao Rong didn’t feel he was particularly outstanding, he had somehow won everyone’s admiration. Before he could even process it all, a beautiful girl in the front row passed him a note.

He glanced at her, noting she was quite attractive, and unfolded the piece of paper. In clear black ink, it read: ”Brother Zhao Rong, can I join your maid squad? I promise I can treat you even better than those other three.”

Zhao Rong was stunned. He immediately scribbled a reply: ”Please don’t misunderstand. I’m just a bodyguard responsible for protecting those three.”

Next, a girl in the middle of the back row had someone pass a message to Zhao Rong. ”Not only can I hold umbrellas, carry bags, and offer towels, but I can also dance and sing... If you let me serve you, I’ll definitely do a better job than them.”

Faced with another girl actively trying to get close, Zhao Rong wiped the sweat from his forehead and wrote back, ”It’s all a misunderstanding. You’ve got the wrong idea. I’m just a humble worker.”

Just as Zhao Rong resolved to refuse any more notes from the girls, a rather handsome boy passed one to him. He had written, ”Could I ask you for some tips on picking up girls?”

Zhao Rong was dumbfounded. ”Picking up girls?” I’ve never even tried to woo those three. ”Techniques?” I’ve never discovered any special skills for pursuing girls.

So, he wrote back to the boy, ”I don’t know how to pursue girls, and I certainly don’t have any techniques or methods. The only reason those three are so good to me is that they’re doing it completely of their own volition.”

When the boy received Zhao Rong’s note, he frowned. I’ve seen people show off before, but I’ve never seen someone so good at it. A guy who looks like you—neither tall nor handsome... I refuse to believe those three girls would voluntarily hold your umbrella, wipe your sweat, hand you a towel, and carry your backpack.

After that, Zhao Rong received a continuous stream of notes from more boys and girls. Without exception, the girls’ notes all expressed their adoration for him, while the boys’ notes all begged him to teach them his girl-chasing techniques.

Zhao Rong’s sudden popularity was becoming overwhelming. After enduring it for a little while longer, he slipped out of the classroom.

He wandered aimlessly through the training center grounds and, before he knew it, arrived at the campus’s most notorious and mysterious location: the small grove. He knew that even in broad daylight, plenty of students hung out there... So, driven by curiosity, he stepped into the woods.

If I’m lucky, I might even catch a live show starring a shameless couple.
