Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 24: Chapter 21: Could it be that yesterday’s charade has actually become reality today?

Zhao Rong originally felt that he had been deceived by the little watch into taking a job from the Pursuit Company. He believed it was impossible to court Miss Lili, let alone earn the hundred thousand yuan from the company. However, he had never expected that life could be so miraculous.

He hadn’t even properly begun his pursuit of Miss Lili, nor had he found a way to make her leave her so-called assassin boyfriend. Yet, his mission was somehow completed ahead of schedule. On top of that, while completing his task, he also received a reward of 1.5 million yuan from Miss Lili’s father, the chairman.

Zhao Rong patted his head. Everything that happened yesterday felt as unbelievable as a dream. But it had, in fact, really happened to him.

Zhao Rong’s identity had now changed. He was no longer a salesman at the Pursuit Company, but the bodyguard for Miss Lili, the chairman’s daughter. What Zhao Rong expected least of all was that the chairman, in addition to having him protect Miss Lili, had also given him permission to get her pregnant. Once Miss Lili was pregnant, he would become the direct heir to the chairman, the city’s wealthiest man. Zhao Rong sighed. Ever since he had transmigrated from Earth to this parallel world, he had been on a real streak of peach blossom luck.

Furthermore, although Zhao Rong had never learned any martial arts or undergone elite soldier training, he relied on his innate Special Abilities. His reactions and attacks were so fast they were impossible to see, allowing him to effortlessly dominate any impressive person around him. Back on Earth, Zhao Rong had never had such a moment in the spotlight. In fact, from childhood to adulthood, he had always been looked down on by everyone around him because his family was poor and he was short, which made him feel deeply inferior. But now, through his own hard work and struggles, he had firmly established himself in this parallel world.

In the morning, Zhao Rong left his dormitory feeling refreshed and spirited.

Just as he arrived in the classroom, Miss Lili said to him, ”Zhao Rong, I have some good news. Do you want to hear it?”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong was taken aback. ”What good news?”

Miss Lili said, ”I just sent a text to my boyfriend, Killer King Wang Jingang. I told him, ’I’m breaking up with you. Get lost, you coward.’”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong was startled. No way. Did the act from yesterday actually become real today?

Zhao Rong asked, half-doubting, ”Miss Lili, did you really break up with your boyfriend?”

Miss Lili nodded, showing him the text message. ”Look, I really did break up with him.”

Seeing that Lili had indeed broken up with Killer King Wang Jingang, Zhao Rong thought with delight, Doesn’t this mean I have a chance?

Just as Zhao Rong was feeling optimistic, Miss Lili suddenly said, ”Zhao Rong, you know what?

”When I first met you, I thought you were a complete idiot who was just asking for a beating. But when I saw you beat up my ex-boyfriend behind the training center, I thought you had some skill.

”Then, when you taught Da Sha, the training center bully, a lesson, I realized you didn’t just have some skill—you were incredibly talented. When you caught the Rainy Night Maniac that everyone was so afraid of, I thought you were truly incredible. At the same time, my fondness for you grew with each passing day.

”When you fought those men with long knives bare-handed... the sheer fearlessness you showed made me start to admire you. You know, for a girl, liking a man always starts with admiration.

”Finally, when you defeated the Black Mountain Old Demon and sold him to the zoo, I thought you were a peerless hero. So, Zhao Rong, I think that we...”

Miss Lili hadn’t finished speaking when her phone rang. It was Wang Jingang. Just as Zhao Rong was about to hear the crucial part, he was interrupted by the ringing phone, much to his annoyance.

As soon as Miss Lili answered, Wang Jingang immediately began to threaten her. ”You bitch! If you dare break up with me, I’ll tear up your face, I’ll splash your face with...”

Listening to Wang Jingang’s threats, Miss Lili was not the least bit afraid. She responded fearlessly, ”Wang Jingang, I’m telling you, don’t even think you can threaten me. I have a bodyguard now.”

Hearing that Miss Lili had a bodyguard, Wang Jingang was stunned for a moment before retorting, ”Who is your bodyguard? I’ll come over and kill him right now.”

Hearing Wang Jingang’s arrogant tone, Miss Lili told him directly, ”My bodyguard is a real badass. I’m afraid if I tell you who it is, you’ll piss your pants in fear.”

This only made Wang Jingang more curious. He said, ”Tell me. As long as he dares to fight me one-on-one and wins, I’ll stop bothering you.”

Hearing this, Miss Lili immediately declared, ”My boyfriend is the peerless hero, Zhao Rong—the one who beat you to a sniveling mess behind the training center and thrashed you beyond recognition on the playground in front of all the students.”

Hearing that Zhao Rong, a salesman from the Pursuit Company, had now become his ex-girlfriend’s bodyguard, Killer King Wang Jingang was utterly dumbfounded. He exclaimed, ”Impossible! Isn’t Zhao Rong just a salesman at the Pursuit Company? How did he suddenly become your bodyguard?”

Miss Lili replied nonchalantly, ”What can I say? My dad paid 1.5 million to hire Zhao Rong as my bodyguard.”

Upon hearing that the chairman had given Zhao Rong 1.5 million, Killer King Wang Jingang burst into tears of anger. He cried, ”Lili, do you have any idea why I pursued you? It was to get some money from your father! But in the end, I didn’t get a single dime, and that punk Zhao Rong got 1.5 million! Damn it, it’s so unfair!”

In truth, the reason Killer King Wang Jingang had pursued Lili wasn’t out of genuine affection but because her father was fabulously wealthy. He wanted to use Lili as a stepping stone to eventually get his hands on her father’s massive fortune. Now, his scheme had come to nothing.

After his bout of crying, Killer King Wang Jingang was livid. He swore, ”Miss Lili, you just wait. If I can’t have you, then no other man in this world will either.”

Hearing his words, Lili grew a little frightened. ”What are you going to do? Are you going to come over and bite me?”

Wang Jingang sneered. ”I won’t bite you. But I’m going to find a snake-shaped monster to sneak into your dormitory tonight and kill you in your sleep.”

With that, Wang Jingang hung up.

The snake-shaped monster was a very powerful magical beast. Hearing that Wang Jingang was going to get one to come and eat her, Lili immediately turned to Zhao Rong in fear. ”Zhao Rong, since you’re my bodyguard, you have to protect me twenty-four hours a day.”

Zhao Rong hadn’t heard Killer King Wang Jingang’s threats. He asked, ”How am I supposed to protect you?”

The mere thought of that snake-shaped monster terrified Lili. She said, ”Zhao Rong, starting tonight, you’re moving into my dormitory, and you must...”

Listening to Lili’s words, Zhao Rong was startled. A young man and a young woman... we’re like dry tinder and a burning flame. If I move into her dorm, isn’t she just inviting me to make a mistake?

Zhao Rong said shyly, ”Moving into your dorm is one thing, but sleeping in the same... well, that’s a lot of pressure.”

Hearing him hesitate, Lili explained, ”Zhao Rong, don’t you understand? Wang Jingang is going to get a snake-shaped monster to eat me! That kind of magical beast can travel through the pipes. It can come out of the toilet, the faucet, even the radiators! Once it’s out, it can instantly transform into a monster with a green face and sharp fangs. So, you have to move into my dorm and share a bed with me. It’s the only way you can completely protect me.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong wondered to himself, A snake-shaped monster? Is it really as terrifying as Lili says? It can even come out of the toilet? How am I supposed to take a crap, then?

Driven by a mix of curiosity and his sense of duty to protect Miss Lili, Zhao Rong unhesitatingly moved into her room in the girls’ dormitory.
