Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 43: Chapter 39: You Have a Heavy Punch, I Have a Cactus

After leaving the training hall, Zhao Rong led the three young women to his assigned class to report in. As a new disciple at the True Martial Gate, Zhao Rong was assigned to Class One of the first year. The moment he walked into the classroom, he heard gasps of shock from the other male students. It turned out that men greatly outnumbered women within the True Martial Gate; some classes didn’t have a single female student. So, when Zhao Rong entered with three girls—all of them top-tier beauties—every boy in the room stared, their eyes wide with astonishment.

Zhao Rong had just sat down when a boy with glasses, nicknamed Four Eyes, walked over. He looked at Zhao Rong with envy and said, ”Bro, you’re incredible. You’ve got three girlfriends all to yourself, and they’re all so beautiful.”

”Bro, you’ve misunderstood,” Zhao Rong quickly explained. ”I’m just an ordinary bodyguard. These three aren’t my girlfriends; they’re the people I’m assigned to protect.”

Hearing that the girls weren’t Zhao Rong’s girlfriends, Four Eyes was suddenly filled with hope. He turned to Yu Lan, the most feminine of the three. ”Hey beautiful,” he said, drooling slightly, ”since you don’t have a boyfriend, how about we get to know each other? We could be friends.”

Yu Lan was a rather feisty woman. Seeing Four Eyes try to hit on her, she immediately shot back, ”Who said I don’t have a boyfriend? Not only do I have one, but he’s right here beside me...”

Just as Yu Lan was about to name Zhao Rong as her boyfriend, the assistant, fresh from cleaning the toilets, burst in from outside. He planted himself in front of Yu Lan, glared fiercely at Four Eyes, and declared, ”I’ll tell you the truth: I’m Yu Lan’s boyfriend. If you want to pursue her, you’ll have to get through me first.”

Completely caught off guard, Four Eyes was startled by the assistant’s sudden appearance. Furthermore, the assistant had a naturally mature face and a thick beard, giving him the look of a middle-aged uncle.

Four Eyes recoiled a step. He glanced at Yu Lan, then back at the uncle-like assistant. He sucked in a sharp breath. ”How can such a beautiful woman have such... intense taste? She actually likes a middle-aged uncle?”

With that, Four Eyes walked away dejectedly.

As soon as he left, another student, this one bald, came over. Like Four Eyes, Baldy had originally assumed the three beauties were all Zhao Rong’s girlfriends. But when he heard that Zhao Rong was just a bodyguard, he too saw his chance. His gaze fell upon Miss Lili, and he felt a rush of adrenaline. Unable to control himself, he approached them.

He looked at Miss Lili and said, ”Great beauty, you’re stunning. In my entire life, I’ve never seen a woman as gorgeous as you.”

When Miss Lili saw the lascivious look on Baldy’s face, she nearly gagged. She retorted, ”You ugly man, you’re truly hideous. In my entire life, I’ve never seen a man as ugly as you.”

Hearing Miss Lili call him ugly, the bald man stood up ramrod straight, his pride deeply wounded. He said to her rudely, ”Beauty, since you called me ugly, I’m going to insist on pursuing you, just to make you call me ugly again.”

Lili was amused to hear that this bald man wanted to pursue her and was even making vows about it. She said unapologetically, ”Baldy, if you want to pursue me, you’ll have to get past my bodyguard first.”

At this, Baldy glanced disdainfully at Zhao Rong. ”This kid? He’s only a level-ten cultivator with no Martial Techniques. He’s obviously a worthless bum. If I can’t even get past him, what kind of man am I?”

With that, Baldy flexed his muscles right in front of Miss Lili.

Faced with Baldy’s provocation, Zhao Rong, who liked to feign weakness and was actually quite shrewd, didn’t make a sound. He simply sat there, flipping through a basic cultivation manual just issued by the True Martial Gate.

When Baldy saw that Zhao Rong didn’t dare make a peep even after being provoked, he grew even more reckless. He immediately concluded that Zhao Rong was a total coward. So, Baldy pushed his luck and tried to move closer to Miss Lili.

Seeing him approach the three young women, the assistant standing nearby instantly stepped in front of him. With an air of great righteousness, the assistant declared, ”Baldy, don’t get too cocky! The ultimate bodyguard, Zhao Rong, won’t make a move until the last critical moment.”

Baldy, who already had no regard for Zhao Rong the bodyguard, certainly didn’t think much of the assistant either. He grabbed the assistant by the collar. ”Kid, if you know what’s good for you, step aside.”

As Baldy grabbed his collar, the assistant reached out to grab his arm. However, his hand slipped and slapped right over the bald man’s mouth. An overwhelming stench assaulted Baldy’s nostrils. Gagging, he managed to say, ”Damn it, kid! Did you just pull your hand out of a latrine? Why does it reek so bad?”

Hearing this, the assistant suddenly remembered that when he was cleaning the toilets just now, not only had he forgotten to wear gloves, but he hadn’t washed his hands afterward either.

Looking at his hand still clamped over the bald man’s mouth, the assistant roared with laughter. ”Oh, right, I forgot to mention! I might be a disciple of the True Martial Gate, but I’m also the official toilet scrubber.”

Hearing that the assistant was a toilet cleaner, Baldy erupted in fury. ”Damn it! No wonder your hand smells so foul! You just came from cleaning the toilets!”

Seeing the pained expression on Baldy’s face from the stench of his hand, the assistant added cheerfully, ”When I was cleaning the toilets earlier, I might have accidentally grabbed a handful of... you know.”

Hearing this, Baldy truly exploded. He sputtered, ”Damn it, if your hand is that filthy, why the hell are you shoving it in my mouth?”

With that, Baldy began spitting repeatedly, trying to clean the filth out of his mouth. But the assistant, being a natural troublemaker, suddenly shoved his other hand into Baldy’s mouth too.

”Hey, Baldy!” he said. ”Since you seem so interested in poop, I’ll let you have your fill!”

Enraged, Baldy leveraged his status as a level-eleven cultivator and let out a sudden roar. ”Meteor Hammer!”

Then, he threw a punch at the assistant.

The assistant, who had no cultivation whatsoever, didn’t even have time to react before the punch sent him flying, plastering him against the back wall.

Seeing his light punch send the assistant flying, Baldy became even more conceited. He addressed the whole class. ”Turns out this guy is a fake. His cultivation level isn’t even ten, and he dares to come to our True Martial Gate? I bet that besides this assistant, that damn bodyguard Zhao Rong is a fake, too!”

As he spoke, Baldy howled with laughter.

That was the last straw. Zhao Rong put down his book and stood up.

He looked at Baldy and said, ”Young man, I’m giving you one last chance. If you don’t want to die, you will go help the assistant up right now, take him to the hospital, and compensate him for his medical bills and emotional distress.”

Hearing the previously timid Zhao Rong dare to stand up and threaten him, Baldy swaggered closer. ”You, a fake, think you can threaten me?” he said arrogantly. ”Let me tell you, I’m going to beat you down the same way I just beat up that assistant!”

With that, Baldy lunged at Zhao Rong, throwing a Meteor Hammer punch.

Facing the iron-fisted Meteor Hammer, Zhao Rong didn’t dodge. He unleashed his Special Abilities: lightning-fast movement.

In an instant, Zhao Rong zipped to the windowsill, grabbed a pot containing a cactus full of sharp spines, and placed it directly in front of himself.

When Baldy saw that the unarmed Zhao Rong had suddenly produced a cactus to block his punch, he was completely stunned. Faced with the pot, he tried to pull back his fist, but he had thrown the punch with too much force and couldn’t retract it in time.

With no way to stop, a horrifying scream tore through the air as the bald man’s fist slammed hard into the pot of spiky cacti.
