Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 35: Chapter 32: Poor Boy, Rich Girl

At that moment, the assistant was standing at the door. Having seen Zhao Rong’s success, he had come specifically to pledge his loyalty. Inside the villa, however, Zhao Rong mistook the person at the door for someone seeking revenge.

He whispered instructions to Yu Lan, ”You go open the door, but remember, the second it’s open, step aside.”

Zhao Rong planned to launch a front kick the moment Yu Lan opened the door and the enemy appeared. He wouldn’t ask any questions; he’d just send whoever was there flying.

As Yu Lan quietly walked to the door, Zhao Rong braced himself. Just then, the knocking suddenly grew louder. The assistant outside, having knocked for a long time without a response, simply assumed he hadn’t been loud enough for anyone to hear. But when Zhao Rong heard the sudden increase in volume, he was convinced the person at the door was trouble and that he had to kick them flying.

Suddenly, Yu Lan threw the door open.

The moment the door swung inward, the fully prepared Zhao Rong leaped into the air with all his might, launching a powerful front kick.

The assistant at the door, however, was merely puzzled when he saw Zhao Rong leap into the air. Even if Zhao Rong is happy to see me, there’s no need to jump, right? He’s so enthusiastic.

But before the assistant could fully process this, Zhao Rong’s kick connected, sending him flying. A scream tore through the air as a cloud of dust billowed up. The assistant, who had just been standing at the door, was sent flying dozens of meters away.

Seeing that he had sent the supposed revenge-seeker flying with a single kick, Zhao Rong dusted off his foot. Looks like my strength has really grown since hitting level seven. To think I can send a bad guy flying with a casual kick. Awesome.

But before Zhao Rong could savor the moment, Lili looked at the person lying on the ground in the distance and said to Zhao Rong, ”That person you kicked... doesn’t he look a bit like the assistant?”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong froze. No way. After the matchmaking company went bust, the assistant went back home to farm. Why would he suddenly show up here?

Just as Zhao Rong was filled with doubt, the assistant, lying on the ground looking half-dead, cried out, ”Zhao Rong, I just came to work for you, to make a living! You didn’t have to welcome me so enthusiastically! You nearly kicked me to death!”

Seeing that it was indeed the assistant he had kicked, Zhao Rong immediately rushed over. The man lay on the ground, covered in dust. Spitting blood, he said, ”Zhao Rong, I went home and farmed for a few days, but I realized I’m better off with you. Please, take me in. Let me be your assistant again. Otherwise, I really have nowhere else to go.”

Seeing the assistant battered and bruised, with such a pitiful look on his face, Zhao Rong’s heart softened. ”Since you have nowhere else to go, you can stay on as my assistant.”

Hearing that Zhao Rong would take him in, the assistant struggled to his feet. He thanked him, saying, ”Zhao Rong, thank you so much.”

After saying this, the assistant glanced at Yu Lan, who was still standing by the door. Yu Lan, my desperate ploy has finally worked. I finally have a chance to get close to you.

The assistant had fallen for Yu Lan the very first time he saw her. He had deliberately used this ploy to get into Zhao Rong’s villa and closer to her.

As Zhao Rong helped the assistant inside, Yu Lan looked at him unwelcomingly. ”Why are you here?”

The assistant had confessed his feelings to her before, so Yu Lan had a poor impression of him. Xuelian didn’t welcome him either; one look at his cunning face told her he was no good.

In contrast to the other two, Lili was quite pleased to see the assistant. She knew he liked Yu Lan. If he lived in the villa, he could act as a check on Yu Lan, preventing her from pursuing Zhao Rong so shamelessly.

After settling the assistant in, Zhao Rong left for school with Yu Lan, Xuelian, and Lili.

Normally, a bodyguard would be expected to drive for their employers. However, eager to show off and outdo Xuelian and Yu Lan, Lili insisted on driving for Zhao Rong. When he approached the car, she rushed to open the door for him. After he was inside, Lili promptly sat in the driver’s seat, acting as his chauffeur. Zhao Rong, meanwhile, settled into an executive seat in the back, crossing his legs and thoroughly enjoying the treatment.

Sitting in the front passenger seat, Yu Lan saw Lili not only open the door but also act as a driver. Not to be outdone, she turned and asked sweetly, ”Zhao Rong, it’s so hot. Are you thirsty?” As she spoke, she opened the car’s mini-fridge, pulled out several kinds of drinks, and offered them to him.

Xuelian, sitting beside Zhao Rong, saw Yu Lan’s display of concern and immediately produced a portable coffee maker. ”Zhao Rong, drinking cold beverages in the morning is bad for you. I’ll make you some fresh coffee instead.” With that, she began brewing coffee for him right there in the car.

Lili, who was driving, heard that Xuelian planned to brew coffee in the car and was so angry her face went crimson. I thought I was good at putting on a show for Zhao Rong, but I never imagined you two would be even better. You’ve outdone me completely.

And so, on the way to the training center, Zhao Rong the bodyguard sat in a luxury car, his legs crossed. He sipped freshly brewed coffee, enjoying the plush comfort, feeling utterly content while his supposed employers drove for him, offered him drinks, and prepared his coffee.

Soon, the car arrived at the training center’s entrance. Before Zhao Rong could even move, Lili had already jumped out, hurried to his side of the car to open the door, and then helped him out. The moment Zhao Rong’s feet touched the ground, Yu Lan emerged from the passenger side and popped open a parasol. ”Zhao Rong, it’s a bit hot. I’ll hold this for you so the sun doesn’t beat down on you.”

Xuelian then stepped forward, took the backpack from Zhao Rong’s hand, and slung it over her own shoulder. ”Zhao Rong, men need to rest properly. The backpacks from the training center are really heavy. Let me carry it for you.” She then fell in behind him like a little attendant.

At this moment, Zhao Rong looked every bit the successful tycoon. He wore a designer suit and tie. In front of him, a stunning beauty held a parasol to shield him from the sun. Behind him, another top-tier beauty humbly carried his bag. Beside him, the beautiful heiress Lili stood at the ready with a bottle of water and a towel. When Zhao Rong felt thirsty, Lili handed him water. When a sheen of sweat appeared on his brow, Lili would tenderly use the towel to wipe it away.

Although Zhao Rong hadn’t even entered the building, word had already spread inside the training center. When everyone heard that one bodyguard was tasked with protecting three wealthy young women simultaneously, they couldn’t help but feel worried for him.

The homeroom teacher sighed, ”What a tough life that Zhao Rong kid has. A frail-looking man having to protect three high-maintenance women at once... it must be exhausting and painful.”

The training director was also sympathetic. ”Children from poor families have to grow up fast. As a bodyguard, Zhao Rong can’t just be responsible for their safety. He must also have to take care of all their daily needs, basically acting as their nanny and servant.”

The students in the class shared their pity. They figured a man serving three girls at once must surely get bossed around, yelled at, and maybe even hit.

But just as everyone was sympathizing with Zhao Rong’s plight and feeling sorry for him, he appeared. He was strolling in, puffing on a top-shelf Cuban cigar and wearing high-end sunglasses.

And the three wealthy girls?

One stood on her tiptoes to hold an umbrella for him. Another was hunched over, carrying his backpack. The third trailed beside him like a puppy, fawning over him.

Seeing this, everyone present was utterly stunned. They couldn’t understand what strategy Zhao Rong had used to make these three notoriously hard-to-please young heiresses willingly serve him, this poor kid from nowhere.
