Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 26: Chapter 23: You Sleepwalk, I Drink

Lili fell asleep quickly.

However, Zhao Rong couldn’t fall asleep for a long time. It wasn’t just because he was sharing a bed with a stunningly beautiful woman, but also because he was curious. What kind of shameful things will Lili do when she sleepwalks?

Sharing a bed with a beauty certainly required immense composure and willpower. Zhao Rong tried his best to control himself and remain a gentleman. At the same time, he monitored everything inside the dorm room, needing to ensure he could wake up at the first sign of trouble and protect Lili from the serpent monster’s attack.

In the blink of an eye, it was one in the morning. Although Zhao Rong was drowsy, he still hadn’t fallen asleep. By then, Lili had transitioned from light sleep into a deep one. Zhao Rong knew that sleepwalking generally occurred during the deep sleep stage. So, Lili is going to start sleepwalking soon. I need to be mentally prepared so I don’t get startled or let her hurt herself.

As Zhao Rong was thinking, Lili suddenly opened her eyes. Her movement snapped him fully awake. All sleepiness vanished as he stared, wide-eyed, at the woman beside him. If she’s sleepwalking, she’s definitely going to get up. Perfect, I can get a good look at her figure.

However, to Zhao Rong’s surprise, the first thing Lili did when she began sleepwalking was get dressed under the covers. Only after she was fully clothed did she climb out of bed. Seeing that she was already dressed, Zhao Rong couldn’t help but feel a pang of disappointment.

Lili stood up and hopped straight off the bed. Watching her, Zhao Rong wondered, What kind of shameful things could she possibly do while sleepwalking?

Just as Zhao Rong’s curiosity peaked, Lili walked into the bathroom. She returned shouldering a long steel pole, which she installed right there in the dorm room. Then, right in front of him, she began to pole dance.

Zhao Rong was stunned. He couldn’t believe she was pole dancing in her sleep. He’d seen sleepwalkers wander around, run, search for food, or even do laundry, but he had never, ever seen someone pole dance in their sleep. What’s more, her pole dancing was incredible—even better than a professional’s.

So, Zhao Rong opened the fridge, grabbed a beer, and started drinking as he watched Lili’s performance.

I never expected being Lili’s bodyguard would come with perks like this. How rare, he thought. Looks like I’ll get to enjoy a free private show from a top-tier beauty every night from now on. But pole dancing isn’t exactly a shameful secret, is it? So why did she say she does shameful things when she sleepwalks?

Just as he was pondering this, Lili suddenly stopped dancing and shoved the steel pole back into the bathroom. Zhao Rong saw that she didn’t come out and frowned. What is that beautiful woman doing in there?

Grabbing his flashlight, Zhao Rong walked toward the bathroom. But when he reached the doorway and saw what Lili was doing inside, he was so shocked he nearly jumped out of his skin. It turned out Lili had taken out a few... items.

Seeing them, Zhao Rong sucked in a sharp breath. A top-tier beauty like Lili... does she really have a shortage of men? Then again, maybe they aren’t hers. They could belong to her roommate.

Zhao Rong returned to bed. Lili was right. She really does do some shameful things in her sleep. But it’s no big deal. We’re both adults over eighteen, after all.

He checked his watch. After waiting for an hour, Lili finally emerged from the bathroom. She returned to her bed, slid under the covers, took off her clothes, and went back to sleep. Seeing her asleep again, Zhao Rong finally breathed a sigh of relief.

「Early the next morning」

Zhao Rong was suddenly awakened by a noise from the bathroom. He shot his eyes open. ”Not good, there’s trouble.”

With that, he leaped out from under the covers and rushed into the bathroom. However, he didn’t find anything, so he left.

What Zhao Rong didn’t know was that the sound he had just heard was the serpent monster jumping out of the toilet. Right then, the monster looked like a long worm. It had made its way to Lili’s room through the sewers. When Zhao Rong had entered the bathroom to check, the serpent monster had jumped straight onto the ceiling and stuck to the surface, which was why Zhao Rong hadn’t spotted it.

After seeing Zhao Rong leave, the serpent monster chuckled to itself. What an idiot. He didn’t even see me. I’ll hide in your dorm today, and tonight, you’ll both die a horrible death.

Lili woke up just as Zhao Rong came out of the bathroom. When she saw him standing there naked, she shrieked, ”Zhao Rong, why aren’t you wearing any clothes?!”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong quickly covered his vitals. ”Sorry,” he said. ”I like to sleep naked, just like you.”

With that, he threw on his clothes as fast as he could. Only after seeing Zhao Rong was dressed did Lili finally poke her head out from under the covers. ”Zhao Rong, did I sleepwalk last night?”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong said awkwardly, ”Yeah, for a little while.”

Hearing she had sleepwalked again, Lili asked sheepishly, ”So... what did you see me do?”

Zhao Rong was too embarrassed to tell her that she’d pole danced and then played with her toys, so he just said, ”You just walked a lap around the dorm room.”

Hearing this, Lili sighed with relief. ”I have a habit of taking off all my clothes and dancing when I sleepwalk. Thank goodness I didn’t do that last night.”

Hearing that Lili’s sleepwalking could involve stripping, Zhao Rong gulped. Holy crap. Last night’s pole dance was already wild enough. I had no idea she had even crazier routines.

It was almost time for class, so the two of them washed up as quickly as possible and got ready to leave. But as Zhao Rong was washing up, he noticed the dorm room was full of cockroaches.

He said to Lili, ”Miss Lili, your room is full of cockroaches. Do you have any cockroach Divine Medicine? I want to get rid of them.”

Hearing him mention cockroach Divine Medicine, Lili shook her head. ”I don’t have any Divine Medicine, but I have a ’Stink Egg Nuclear Weapon’ for smoking them out.”

The Stink Egg Nuclear Weapon was a Divine Artifact for exterminating cockroaches. When lit, it released an incredibly foul gas.

”Great, give me one!” Zhao Rong said happily. ”After we leave, I’ll set it off in the room and fumigate these damn cockroaches.”

Hearing this, Lili gave him a Stink Egg Nuclear Weapon.

When Zhao Rong lit the device, he immediately smelled a stench so unbearable it made one wish for death. Quick as a flash, just as he and Lili were leaving, Zhao Rong tossed the cockroach-exterminating Divine Artifact, the Stink Egg Nuclear Weapon, back into the dorm.

At that moment, the serpent monster hiding on the bathroom ceiling hadn’t yet smelled the stench. It heard the door close and jumped down. As it burrowed under Lili’s bed, it thought, I, the great serpent monster, am not to be trifled with! I’ll hide under your bed today, and when midnight comes, I’ll kill you both!

But before the monster could finish its thought, it suddenly smelled a stench so unbearable it made one want to die. Clearly, the serpent monster was no match for the Stink Egg Nuclear Weapon.

Vomiting blood, he choked out, ”Damn it! Did Zhao Rong and Lili discover me? Did they leave me some kind of Knockout Drug when they left?”
