Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 39: Chapter 36 If you survive the great disaster, I shall willingly marry you.

Facing Zhao Rong’s flying kick, Big Gold Tooth dodged with a swift move. Seeing that he had missed, Big Gold Tooth grinned and sneered, ”Kid, the Big Gold Tooth you see now is not the man he once was. Today, I am a Level 12 cultivator. You battered me before, so today, I’m going to return the favor—an eye for an eye—and teach you a proper lesson.”

As he spoke, he threw a punch. The fist tore through the air with a fierce gust of wind, and Zhao Rong could immediately feel his formidable power.

Damn, he really is a Level 12 cultivator. A single punch generates that much force.

In a flash, Zhao Rong performed a backflip, cleanly evading the blow.

Seeing his punch dodged, Big Gold Tooth’s eyes widened in disbelief. ”Impossible! How can a mere Level 7 cultivator like you dodge the iron fist of a Level 12 cultivator?”

But Zhao Rong was fast. Before Big Gold Tooth could finish his sentence, Zhao Rong had already countered with a punch of his own. Caught mid-sentence, Big Gold Tooth had no time to react. Zhao Rong’s fist landed squarely on his mouth. Three gold teeth flew out as Big Gold Tooth was knocked to the ground with a THUD.

When the crowd saw a Level 7 cultivator knock down a Level 12 cultivator, they gasped in amazement.

Big Gold Tooth scrambled to his feet, spat out a mouthful of blood, and snarled, ”Damn it. It looks like I have to use my trump card.” With a roar, he shouted, ”Lightning Ball!” and a fireball instantly materialized between his palms before he hurled it toward Zhao Rong.

The speed of the Lightning Ball was beyond Zhao Rong’s wildest expectations. After all, he was just a minor Level 7 cultivator, five full levels below Big Gold Tooth. When the onlookers saw that Zhao Rong couldn’t possibly dodge the attack, they covered their eyes in fear.

Yu Lan watched the Lightning Ball close in on Zhao Rong, who seemed frozen in place, unable to move. She burst into tears. ”Zhao Rong, I’ve been at the Manager Training Center for so many years, and I’ve never truly fallen for anyone... Now that I’ve finally found someone I like and admire, why do you have to face death?”

At that moment, Xuelian squeezed through the crowd. When she saw the Lightning Ball hurtling toward Zhao Rong, tears streamed down her face. She knew that the Lightning Ball was a lethal Martial Technique that only a Level 12 cultivator could master. If Zhao Rong was hit, he was certain to die.

”Zhao Rong, you can’t die!” she cried out. ”You’re my one and only Prince Charming. If you die, what will I do?”

Even Miss Lili, who was still bound by Big Gold Tooth, began to weep. Looking at Zhao Rong, she thought, He’s definitely not going to survive this. And so, she finally spoke the words she had held in her heart for so long.

”Zhao Rong,” she said through her tears, ”maybe you don’t know, maybe you never noticed... but ever since we shared that dorm room, I’ve been in love with you... It’s just that, as the daughter of the city’s wealthiest man, I lacked the courage to lower myself and confess.”

At this point, Zhao Rong was completely immobilized by the Lightning Ball’s energy field, but hearing the confessions of the three beautiful women he was protecting made him so overjoyed he nearly fainted. It turned out his status in their hearts was unbelievably high. To Xuelian, he was a Prince Charming. To Yu Lan, he was an idol. And to Miss Lili, he was a secret crush. Thinking of the three beauties, Zhao Rong couldn’t help but smile.

When Big Gold Tooth saw Zhao Rong smiling on the brink of death, his eyes widened. ”Zhao Rong, you’re about to die and you’re still smiling? You must be scared out of your wits!”

Since Zhao Rong was from Earth, he was a newborn calf that didn’t fear the tiger; he had no idea how powerful a Lightning Ball truly was. However, to the utter astonishment of Big Gold Tooth and everyone watching, when the Lightning Ball struck Zhao Rong, he was completely unharmed. Not a scratch on him.

Stupefied, Big Gold Tooth gaped at him and swallowed hard. ”This... this is impossible... How can a Level 7 cultivator be hit by my Lightning Ball and have no reaction at all?”

He knew that any cultivator below Level 10 would be dead or crippled if struck by his attack. Yet, the man before him was perfectly fine. Big Gold Tooth was utterly baffled.

When Miss Lili saw that the Lightning Ball couldn’t harm Zhao Rong, she shouted with joyful surprise, ”Zhao Rong, if you survive this, I swear I’ll marry you!”

Yu Lan also wept with joy. ”Zhao Rong, when we get back, you’re coming home with me to meet my parents!”

Xuelian hadn’t expected him to be strong enough to withstand the attack either. ”Zhao Rong,” she cried excitedly, ”I knew it! My Prince Charming is invulnerable!”

While everyone was still reeling in confusion, Zhao Rong suddenly exerted his strength. The Lightning Ball reversed its course and shot back toward Big Gold Tooth.

Ever since taking the poison to reach Level 12, Big Gold Tooth’s Lightning Ball had been a foolproof weapon. He had never once failed. But today, not only had he failed, but he was about to be killed by his own attack. Zhao Rong had put so much force into the reversal that Big Gold Tooth had no time to dodge. He was struck head-on. In an instant, he collapsed to the ground and burst into flames.

Only in his final moments did Big Gold Tooth understand why Zhao Rong was not only immune to the attack but could also turn it back on him. He said with his last breath, ”Zhao Rong... you little rascal... you were prepared all along, hiding a Dragon Crystal on your person?”

It turned out that the Dragon Crystal not only helped cultivators level up but also possessed incredible defensive power. For any cultivator above Level 5, possessing a Dragon Crystal made them practically invincible to the ultimate attacks of ordinary cultivators. Not even Zhao Rong had expected that the Dragon Crystal he had tricked a giant dragon out of would save his life.

He looked at the dying Big Gold Tooth and said, ”Sorry about that. I didn’t realize this Dragon Crystal I’m carrying could not only protect me but also kill you with your own attack.”

Upon hearing this, Big Gold Tooth glared at him. ”Damn, you’re such a poser. No wonder you weren’t afraid when fighting me... You didn’t even try to dodge my Lightning Ball... You were prepared the whole time. I always thought it was the old masters who were the most cunning... but I never imagined a young hunk like you could be even more of a poser than an old fox like me. You’re crafty, and I’m just unlucky.”

With that, Big Gold Tooth collapsed, killed by his own Lightning Ball.

Looking at the breathless body on the ground, Zhao Rong sighed. ”You reap what you sow.”

When the crowd saw a Level 7 cultivator kill a Level 12 cultivator, they burst into thunderous applause. Hearing the cheers, Miss Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian rushed forward.

Miss Lili threw herself into Zhao Rong’s arms. ”Zhao Rong, you’re so strong! I want to be with you every day!”

Yu Lan rushed over and hugged his leg. ”Zhao Rong, I’m going to cling to you forever and never let you leave my side!”

Xuelian came up and hugged his waist from behind. ”Zhao Rong, you’re my Prince Charming! I want you with me twenty-four hours a day!”

Noticing the strange looks from the crowd, Zhao Rong gently disentangled himself from the three women. ”Let’s get back to the villa; we can hug properly there. Too many people are watching. Let’s calm down for now.”

Empowered by the Dragon Crystal, Zhao Rong had advanced from a Level 7 to a Level 10 cultivator, and he now possessed a super-defensive weapon. At this moment, he was without a doubt the strongest cultivator in the Manager Training Center.

Just as he was leading the three beauties toward the villa, Lili’s father, the Chairman, arrived in a luxury car. He got out and immediately rushed to thank Zhao Rong. ”Zhao Rong, I just received news that Big Gold Tooth was planning to kidnap my daughter and demand a ransom. Thank you for saving her! If it weren’t for you, I’m sure she would have been taken by now.”

With that, the Chairman pulled out his checkbook and wrote Zhao Rong a check for one million.

Seeing he had just made another million, Zhao Rong thanked him politely. ”I’m your daughter’s bodyguard. Protecting the young miss is my duty. A million is a bit too much, don’t you think?”

Seeing his humility, the Chairman said decisively, ”Zhao Rong, your performance has been outstanding. I have decided to invest in your development.”

Zhao Rong thought, Invest in my development? Does that mean he’s going to send me to America or Europe for professional bodyguard training? The thought of going abroad made his heart soar with joy. I’ve been alive for over twenty years. It’s about time I went out and saw the world.

But just as he was getting excited, the Chairman said, ”Zhao Rong, to better train you as a bodyguard, I’ve decided to send you to the True Martial Sect in Mount Shu to cultivate properly.”

Hearing he was being sent to the True Martial Sect in Mount Shu to cultivate properly, Zhao Rong nearly fainted. Isn’t that the same as being thrown into some primitive forest in the middle of nowhere? I’d rather stay here at the Manager Training Center and coast by than be stuck in the mountains with terrible living conditions and very few beautiful women.

So, he immediately pleaded, ”Chairman, could you please not send me to some mountain? Just let me stay here at the Manager Training Center.”

However, in stark contrast to his reluctance, the three beauties standing beside him—Miss Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian—looked thrilled at the prospect of going to the True Martial Sect on Mount Shu.

Miss Lili looked at her father excitedly. ”Dad, I want to go with Zhao Rong and train at the True Martial Sect too!”

The Chairman nodded. ”Of course. You’ve spent enough time at the Manager Training Center. It’s time you developed your combat abilities.”

Hearing that Lili was going to Mount Shu with Zhao Rong, Yu Lan and Xuelian began clamoring to go as well. ”Please let us go with your daughter to train at the True Martial Sect!” they begged the Chairman.

The Chairman nodded again. ”Since you all wish to go, I will send you there together.”

The three girls jumped for joy.

In contrast to their elation, Zhao Rong frowned. What’s so great about some remote mountain forest? It’s much better to enjoy life in a bustling city.
