Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 31: Chapter 28: Beating up Big Gold Tooth and Little Wristwatch

After receiving the coordinates for the Masked Man, Zhao Rong prepared to set off immediately to eliminate him. However, just as he was walking out of the training center’s gate, he noticed that Lili had followed him out.

Zhao Rong looked at her and asked, ”Why did you follow me?”

Lili looked back at him. ”I’m not comfortable with you going alone.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong laughed. ”What’s there to be uncomfortable about? Since I’m your bodyguard, it’s my duty to risk my life for you.”

Lili was deeply moved by his words. ”It’s precisely because you’re willing to risk your life for me that I have to come with you.”

Zhao Rong knew that the Masked Man was a notorious assassin in this city, known for being extremely cunning, vicious, and ruthless. If anything happened to the chairman’s daughter while she was with him, what would he do? Therefore, Zhao Rong firmly refused to let Lili accompany him to capture the Masked Man.

Seeing that he wouldn’t agree, Lili insisted stubbornly, ”If you don’t let me come with you, then you can’t go either.”

After being pestered by her for a long time, Zhao Rong had no choice but to take Lili with him.

When Zhao Rong, following the tracker on his phone, arrived at the building where the Masked Man was supposed to be, he was shocked to realize something. This was the exact spot where he had first appeared when he’d crossed over into this parallel world. Moreover, this building housed the very first company he had applied to: the Chase Woman Company.

Although he was no longer a salesman for the Chase Woman Company but a bodyguard for the chairman’s daughter, the memory of this place was still fresh in his mind.

Zhao Rong looked up at the tall building and said to Lili, ”This is strange. Why would the Masked Man be in this building?”

Lili glanced at the sign above the entrance. ”Could he have come to the Chase Woman Company to find information on you?”

”It’s possible,” Zhao Rong said after a moment’s thought. ”Let’s go up.”

Following the tracking location on his phone, Zhao Rong reached the thirteenth floor, the exact location of the Chase Woman Company. Just as he stepped out of the elevator, he saw the company’s deserted entrance not far away. It was clear that the company had gone bankrupt after the chairman withdrew his funding.

However, as Zhao Rong passed the entrance, the tracking signal suddenly indicated that the Masked Man was hiding inside the defunct company. Puzzled, Zhao Rong walked in.

To his surprise, the moment he stepped through the door, he came face to face with his former bosses: the head of the Chase Woman Company, Gold Tooth, and the man who had scouted him, Little Stopwatch. At the same time, Gold Tooth and Little Stopwatch saw their former employee, Zhao Rong, enter with the chairman’s daughter.

Seeing his old boss, Zhao Rong said politely, ”Hello, Boss.”

Although Zhao Rong greeted them, the two men didn’t appreciate the gesture and instead began to mock him.

Little Stopwatch sneered, ”Well, look at you, kid. You’ve really moved up in the world. Gone from a lowly worker to a pretty boy living off a woman.”

Hearing Little Stopwatch accuse Zhao Rong of living off a woman, Lili immediately flared up. She snapped, ”Don’t you dare spew such filth! Brother Zhao Rong is not only my bodyguard, but he is also the Bodyguard Instructor for my father’s company. He isn’t living off anyone!”

Gold Tooth looked Zhao Rong up and down and said nastily, ”I never would have thought that someone as pathetic-looking as you could catch the eye of the chairman and his daughter.”

Lili shot back, ”Brother Zhao Rong has both brains and brawn, and he has a noble character. Why wouldn’t my father and I appreciate him? You two pathetic scoundrels should stop spouting such nonsense.”

Although Lili had decisively won the argument two-to-zero, the two men still directed their anger toward Zhao Rong.

Little Stopwatch said resentfully, ”Zhao Rong, if I hadn’t run into you downstairs, taken pity on your clueless look, and brought you into the Chase Woman Company to pursue the chairman’s daughter, would you be where you are today?”

Gold Tooth chimed in, ”You just got lucky, kid. We were actually planning to use you as a scapegoat. We never expected you to actually complete an impossible task. You not only won over the chairman’s daughter but also earned over a million in assets. Damn, that was really beyond our expectations.”

Zhao Rong listened to the two scoundrels without getting angry or retorting. ”Sirs, I didn’t come here today for you. I’m here for the Masked Man. Please let me through.”

Hearing that Zhao Rong was looking for the Masked Man, Gold Tooth immediately blocked his path. ”Zhao Rong, our company went bankrupt because the chairman pulled his funding, and that’s all your fault. It was one thing when you left, but now you’ve come back to cause trouble for our new employee? I think you’re tired of living.”

Hearing that the Chase Woman Company was harboring an assassin, Zhao Rong’s tone became sharp. ”Gentlemen, if you don’t step aside right now, I’m going to have to force my way in.”

They didn’t take his words seriously at all.

Little Stopwatch scoffed, ”Kid, if you want to get inside, you’ll have to step over my face to do it.”

He spoke with great confidence, certain that the timid Zhao Rong of old wouldn’t dare lay a finger on him. However, before Little Stopwatch could even react, Zhao Rong shot a kick straight into his chest, sending him sprawling to the ground. Then, Zhao Rong stepped directly on his face and walked past him.

After being trampled, Little Stopwatch’s face turned pale with fury. He never would have dreamed that the formerly timid and compliant Zhao Rong would become so domineering, even daring to step on him—the very agent who had discovered him.

Seeing Zhao Rong humiliate Little Stopwatch, Gold Tooth grabbed a steel pipe from a desk drawer. ”Zhao Rong, not only did you ruin my company and leave me and Little Stopwatch with nothing, but now you dare come back and make trouble? I’ll kill you!”

With that, Gold Tooth swung the steel pipe straight at Zhao Rong’s head.

But this Zhao Rong had been through countless battles. When he saw the steel pipe swinging toward his head, he simply executed a side kick, sending Gold Tooth flying five meters away.

The man crashed heavily to the ground. He clutched his stomach, crying out in pain.

Seeing Zhao Rong so easily dispatch the two ”watchdogs,” the nearby Lili gave him an admiring thumbs-up. At the same time, she didn’t forget to mock Little Stopwatch. ”Boss, didn’t you say that if Zhao Rong had the guts, he’d have to step over your face to pass? Well, now Brother Zhao Rong has not only stepped over your face, but I’m going to step on it, too.”

As she spoke, Lili deliberately stepped on Little Stopwatch’s face as she walked past.

After taunting him, Lili went over to Gold Tooth. She looked down at the man writhing on the ground, clutching his stomach in agony. ”Boss, consider this kick from Zhao Rong payback. Who told you to have such wicked intentions, planning to use him as a scapegoat? Now look what’s happened. You tried to be clever and it backfired spectacularly. Not only did Zhao Rong not become your scapegoat, but he also became the company’s Bodyguard Instructor with an annual salary of a million. What’s more, Brother Zhao Rong might even get company shares in the future.”

Hearing Lili’s words, Gold Tooth simply broke down and cried.

He thought miserably, I never should have hired Zhao Rong. It was like letting a wolf in the door.

Meanwhile, after entering the main office area of the Chase Woman Company, Zhao Rong discovered a hidden door. Behind this door was a secret room, which was precisely where the tracker indicated the Masked Man was.

Zhao Rong opened the door to the secret room and stepped inside.

After finishing her mocking of Gold Tooth and Little Stopwatch, Lili followed him in. However, just as they entered, a dark shadow flashed before their eyes.

Immediately afterward, the door to the secret room slammed shut.
