Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: A First Love’s Beauty, Descended from Heaven

Faced with Lili’s sudden appearance and her questions, Zhao Rong was momentarily stunned but quickly responded. He proactively let go of Yu Lan’s hand. ”That’s right,” he said. ”I came here to pursue you. However, while pursuing you, I never promised I couldn’t pursue other girls.”

Zhao Rong’s words left Lili speechless. She glared at him and said angrily, ”Fine. You’ve got some nerve. We’ll see who has the last laugh.”

After she spoke, Lili thought to herself, Zhao Rong, just you wait. I’ll make sure you can’t win me over... so you can’t complete your mission... and you’ll breach the contract. Then you’ll have to pay my father a million, just like the agreement says. I’ll see you bankrupt and your life a living hell.

Watching Lili turn and walk away, Zhao Rong was confident he could win her over within three months. He was even more confident that he could share a bed with her, whisper sweet nothings, complete the mission, and collect the 100,000 bonus.

Suddenly, after taking only a few steps, Lili turned back around. She looked at Zhao Rong and said, ”Don’t think too highly of that little vixen Yu Lan. Let me tell you the truth—her ex-boyfriend is none other than Big Fool, the guy you beat up yesterday.”

Hearing that Yu Lan’s ex-boyfriend was Big Fool, Zhao Rong looked at her in surprise. He hadn’t expected to get involved with the woman of the training center’s top dog.

Zhao Rong shook his head. I never dreamed in my entire life I’d steal the top dog’s woman, he thought. But now it’s actually happening. He couldn’t help but feel a little impressed with himself.

During breakfast, Zhao Rong acted like a gentleman and went to get food for Yu Lan. Just as he returned with their trays, he caught a movement in his periphery. A girl with her head down, holding a bowl of food, was being tripped by two other girls.

Just as she was about to tumble, her bowl and food spilling everywhere, Zhao Rong activated his feline agility. With speed a hundred times faster than an ordinary person, he flashed to her side and steadied her.

The girl’s name was Xuelian. She was shy, with a beauty so profound it was said to eclipse the moon and make flowers wilt in shame. Her stunning looks made her a target of envy and bullying from the other girls.

The girls who had tripped her were laughing, ready to mock her downfall, when they saw Zhao Rong had saved her. Their jaws dropped in disbelief.

Xuelian herself couldn’t believe it. A man with such incredible reflexes had just saved her in the blink of an eye.

She looked up, gazing bashfully at Zhao Rong. ”Sir, thank you for saving me,” she said. ”I would have taken a nasty fall otherwise.”

As Zhao Rong helped her up, he was stunned by her celestial beauty. The moment he saw her face, he felt as if he had met a fairy. Her beauty was truly beyond description.

It had been a long time since Zhao Rong had felt the rush of a first crush. But seeing Xuelian made his heart pound wildly in his chest, that wonderful feeling descending upon him as if from heaven itself.

”It’s nothing,” Zhao Rong said, looking at her. ”I’m just glad you didn’t fall.”

Xuelian smiled at him and turned to leave.

Watching her go, Zhao Rong suddenly thought, If I let her get away today, who knows when I’ll see her again?

He took a step forward, blocking her path. ”Excuse me, can I get your WeChat?”

Hearing his request, Xuelian shook her head. ”Sir, I’m sorry, I don’t use WeChat.”

Clearly, she was tactfully rejecting him. Undeterred, Zhao Rong decided to try his luck again. ”You must use QQ, then, right? Can I add your QQ?”

Xuelian was an extremely shy girl. Keeping her head bowed, she said, ”I’m sorry, sir, I don’t use QQ either.”

Rejected once again, Zhao Rong nodded helplessly. ”Alright then. Thanks.”

As he spoke, he swiftly activated his Special Abilities. With lightning speed, he plucked the phone from Xuelian’s pocket, used her own finger to unlock it with her fingerprint, and added his WeChat contact. He moved so fast that, to the people around him, it was as if time itself had frozen.

Once he had added her WeChat, Zhao Rong swaggered away. Xuelian, still standing there, merely felt a slight twitch in her finger and nothing more.

When Zhao Rong returned to Yu Lan with his food tray, his spirits high, she immediately questioned him. ”Were you just hitting on Xuelian?”

Zhao Rong didn’t know the beautiful girl’s name was Xuelian. ”You mean the one who was just tripped by those girls?”

Yu Lan nodded. ”That’s her. I’m warning you, don’t get any ideas about her. Don’t get involved with her at all. The consequences would be unimaginable...”

Hearing Yu Lan’s words, Zhao Rong was utterly confused. He couldn’t understand what could possibly be so terrible about the beautiful girl he had just met.

Yu Lan continued, ”Did you know? Xuelian often sneaks out of the dorm in the dead of night and wanders around the small grove behind the training center...”

At the mention of the grove, Zhao Rong’s eyes widened. He knew that the grove behind the training center was a spot where couples went to...

He couldn’t imagine why such a gorgeous girl would go to a place like that in the middle of the night. Burning with curiosity, Zhao Rong decided he would follow Xuelian that very night. He would trail her to the grove and uncover her secret.

That evening, after the self-study session ended, Zhao Rong quietly began to trail Xuelian.

At the same time, Yu Lan, who had already fallen for Zhao Rong and wanted to spend every moment with him, was searching for him everywhere. And as she searched, an assistant with a secret crush on her saw his chance. With Zhao Rong absent on this dark and windy night, he decided it was the perfect time to confess his feelings.

Meanwhile, Lili happened to spot Zhao Rong heading toward the grove behind the training center. Don’t tell me he and Yu Lan are going to... in there? she thought. And so, Lili began to quietly tail Zhao Rong.

Thus, a chaotic chain of pursuit was set in motion: Zhao Rong tailed Xuelian, Lili tailed Zhao Rong, Yu Lan searched for Zhao Rong, and the assistant tailed Yu Lan, waiting for the right moment to confess his love.

Soon, Zhao Rong followed Xuelian to the small grove. Lili, keeping a safe distance, also arrived nearby. At the same time, Yu Lan, having fruitlessly searched every corner of the training center for Zhao Rong, ended up near the very same grove by a twist of fate.

As for the assistant, when he saw Yu Lan head toward the grove, he grew more excited than ever. He felt his chance had finally come. If he could successfully confess to her in a place like this, he was sure something more would come of it.
