Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 20: Chapter 19: Promoted Three Levels in a Row

The women in the car screamed in surprise when they saw Zhao Rong leap out.

”Zhao Rong, run!” Miss Lili cried out. ”The Black Mountain Old Demon eats people, bones and all! You’re no match for it!”

Xuelian said through her tears, ”Brother Zhao Rong jumped out to save us! He’s deliberately luring the Black Mountain Old Demon away!”

Yu Lan also wept as she watched him. ”Zhao Rong... it looks like you’re going to die in the Black Mountain Old Demon’s jaws tonight.”

The Black Mountain Old Demon, for its part, was supremely confident. It believed that the short, scrawny Zhao Rong, who looked as if he didn’t even have the strength to truss a chicken, would be an effortless meal. In fact, the demon had already decided Zhao Rong would be its midnight snack.

Just as the Black Mountain Old Demon pounced, in the blink of an eye, Zhao Rong whipped a can of pepper spray out of his pocket. He sprayed it directly into the Black Mountain Old Demon’s eyes, nose, and mouth.

Pepper spray is made from a variety of powerful chemicals. Once sprayed into the eyes, it causes an immediate burning sensation and excruciating, fire-like pain. No matter how tough a person or animal is, a blast of pepper spray to the eyes or mouth will instantly incapacitate them in agony.

When Zhao Rong’s pepper spray struck its target, the Black Mountain Old Demon stopped dead in its tracks. Suddenly, it began howling, rolling on the ground and retching violently.

As the demon writhed on the ground, Zhao Rong looked at the can of pepper spray in his hand. Thank goodness this stuff is real and not expired. Otherwise, I’d definitely be the Black Mountain Old Demon’s dinner right now.

While rolling on the ground in agony, the demon sputtered, ”Damn it! I’ve ruled the Primeval Forest for thirty years! I’ve seen every weapon imaginable, but never pepper spray! I admit it, you got me.”

When the three women in the car saw Zhao Rong miraculously subdue the enemy in a single move, they gasped in awe. Because of the darkness, they couldn’t clearly see the pepper spray in his hand. All they saw was the ferocious Black Mountain Old Demon rushing over, Zhao Rong extending a hand, and with a flick of his fingers, the demon collapsing in pain.

Miss Lili gazed at Zhao Rong with sudden admiration. ”Wow, Zhao Rong, you’re an absolute fighting machine! You’re incredible! No matter how strong the enemy is, they’re completely helpless against you.”

Yu Lan stared at Zhao Rong, her emotions running wild. Her eyes filled with affection as she said, ”Brother Zhao Rong, you’re my superhero! I want to give myself to you, right here, right now!”

Xuelian was also stunned by Zhao Rong’s feat. ”You’re the perfect combination of handsome and powerful! If I, Xuelian, could marry a man as amazing as you, my life would be complete.”

Seeing the Black Mountain Old Demon incapacitated on the ground, Zhao Rong found some rope in the taxi. He trussed the demon up tightly and then hoisted it onto the car’s roof, securing it firmly.

The captured Black Mountain Old Demon looked at Zhao Rong and said, ”Bro, can you spare me?”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong immediately shook his head. ”If I let you go, I’d just be condoning your crimes.”

When it heard Zhao Rong refuse, the Black Mountain Old Demon asked, ”So where are you taking me?”

Zhao Rong recalled the Monster Dissection and Research Lab where he had sent the Rainy Night Maniac. ”For a monster like you,” he said, ”dissection seems like the best option.”

Hearing that Zhao Rong was going to send it to be dissected, the Black Mountain Old Demon immediately dropped to its knees and begged, ”Boss, I’ll give you a Demon Elixir I refined myself. Please, can you let me go?”

Curious, Zhao Rong asked, ”A Demon Elixir? What’s that? Can I see it first?”

The Black Mountain Old Demon handed a Demon Elixir to Zhao Rong. ”This Demon Elixir was made from a Heavenly Mountain Snow Lotus, a process that took over a year of refining. Taking it not only strengthens the body but also boosts one’s vigor.”

Taken aback, Zhao Rong asked, ”Does it really have such a miraculous effect?”

As he spoke, he took the Demon Elixir from the Black Mountain Old Demon’s hand. To his complete surprise, the moment it touched his palm, the Demon Elixir melted.

Seeing his painstakingly crafted elixir dissolve, the Black Mountain Old Demon stared at Zhao Rong in horror. ”Boss! Only someone who is inherently suited for cultivation can melt my Demon Elixir! It seems... you truly are a natural-born cultivator!”

Before the demon could finish, Zhao Rong felt a surge of power and fighting spirit course through his entire body. His fists, in particular, felt incredibly strong.

Just as he was wondering about this sudden burst of strength, Miss Lili stared at him in amazement. ”Brother Zhao Rong, how did you suddenly level up? And by three levels at once!”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong asked in astonishment, ”No way! Am I a level-five cultivator now?”

Miss Lili nodded. ”That’s right, Zhao Rong. You really are a level-five cultivator.”

Zhao Rong processed this. No wonder I feel so light and full of energy. I leveled up again, and by three levels at once!
