Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 47: Chapter 43 Dark Black Mountain Cave, A Place for Cultivation

The night was pitch-black and the wind howled. High in the sky, the moon seemed so shy it had hidden itself away.

Zhao Rong followed the beautiful Tao Hua toward the most desolate area of Mount Shu. The True Martial Sect was vast, and the mountains were deep.

Zhao Rong followed Tao Hua for more than two hours, but they still hadn’t reached the Cultivation Cave. Exhausted and gasping for air, he said, ”Beautiful lady, isn’t this Cultivation Cave a bit too far away?”

In contrast to Zhao Rong’s panting, Tao Hua’s complexion was as rosy as a peach blossom. Not only was she not out of breath, but there wasn’t even a drop of sweat on her forehead.

Tao Hua, who was walking ahead, stopped. She turned to look at Zhao Rong behind her, who was panting with his tongue practically hanging out. ”I really don’t understand,” she said. ”How could someone who gets this exhausted from climbing a small mountain manage to beat up Wang Jingang, handle Da Sha, capture the Rainy Night Maniac, and subdue the Black Mountain Old Demon? And how did you see at a glance that the bald guy was a Vodi Demon and the four-eyed man was a Turtle Spirit?”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong froze. That’s right, how did I accomplish all those feats? Thinking back, it all seems like a series of coincidences.

Wiping the sweat from his forehead, Zhao Rong said, ”I don’t know how I did any of those things either. Right now, my only concern is when we’ll finally reach the Cultivation Cave.”

At his words, Tao Hua smiled. She pointed to a nearby cave hidden behind a curtain of creeping vines. ”We’re here. That’s the one.”

Hearing that they had arrived, Zhao Rong exclaimed happily, ”My God, I’m exhausted! We finally made it.” At that moment, looking at the nearby cave, his only thought was to get inside, find a flat spot, and sleep.

Tao Hua walked to the entrance of the cave and, while starting to undress, said to Zhao Rong behind her, ”You take your clothes off and go in first. I’ll follow right behind you.”

The mention of taking off clothes jolted Zhao Rong awake. Just a moment ago, he had been exhausted enough to fall asleep standing up, but now he was wide awake. He swallowed hard as he watched Tao Hua. Could it be that she’s taken a liking to me? Is bringing me here to cultivate just an excuse to... sleep with me?

At this thought, Zhao Rong grew nervous. I’ve lived with three great beauties—Miss Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian—but nothing like this ever happened... Am I going to ’fall’ into Tao Hua’s hands today?

As Zhao Rong’s mind was racing, Tao Hua seemed to read his thoughts. She shot him a glare and said, ”What are you thinking about? I told you to take off your clothes so you can better absorb the True Qi in this cave. What did you think I was going to do with you...?”

Zhao Rong instantly understood and said, embarrassed, ”Sorry, I was overthinking things.”

With that, he stood before Tao Hua and began to undress. He had just taken off his shirt and was about to remove his pants when Tao Hua exclaimed in surprise, ”What are you doing? Don’t be indecent in front of me! Just taking off your shirt is enough.”

Zhao Rong was embarrassed all over again. When Tao Hua said taking off clothes would help absorb True Qi, he assumed she meant everything. He hadn’t realized that just his shirt would suffice.

So, after removing his shirt, he started walking into the cave. As he went, he wondered, I took my shirt off... so what did she take off?

Just as Zhao Rong was about to turn his head to look, Tao Hua quickly warned him, ”Men and women must maintain their distance. You are only allowed to look forward, not back.”

Hearing that he wasn’t allowed to look back, Zhao Rong understood. She must have taken off...

The cave was frigid. A cold wind blew out from its depths, making him shiver uncontrollably. Since he was covered in sweat from the climb, the blast of cold air felt like he had been dropped in Antarctica, causing his body to tremble violently.

Zhao Rong shivered as he walked forward. I’m freezing to death with just my shirt off. If Tao Hua is behind me and took off all her clothes... isn’t she turning into an ice cube?

Just as Zhao Rong was feeling a pang of sympathy for her, he heard Tao Hua mutter to herself from behind, ”Why doesn’t this Cultivation Cave feel as cold as usual?”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong froze in disbelief. No way... Is she some kind of Eskimo? It’s this cold, and she says it’s not?

While Zhao Rong was still puzzled, he tripped on a rock and fell flat on his face. As he hit the ground, he looked up and saw Tao Hua, who was following him, wearing a thick, sheepskin-lined jacket.

Seeing Tao Hua in the warm jacket, Zhao Rong almost burst into tears. He touched the thin layer of ice that had formed from his sweat on his bare skin. ”It’s freezing in here! You made me take my shirt off while you’re wearing a thick jacket! Are you messing with me?”

Seeing the wronged look on Zhao Rong’s face, Tao Hua couldn’t help but burst out laughing. ”Sorry,” she said. ”There’s only one jacket. If I gave it to you, what would I wear? Besides, you’re a boy. Just endure it for a bit. Once we’re past this ice cave, we’ll get to a warm one.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong looked at Tao Hua in her sheepskin jacket and thought, I never would have guessed. Compared to the other three beauties I travel with—Miss Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian—this one is far more mischievous.

Zhao Rong sighed. Oh well, what can I do? I’m the man here. A man has to be tough on himself.

So, Zhao Rong braced himself and continued walking deeper into the cave. As they ventured further, the air slowly began to warm up, and the ice that had formed on his skin gradually melted away.
