Urban Martial Saint

Wang Lili walked over, picked up the file bag, and pushed open the door to look around. The hallway was silent, not a person in sight, as if the knocking she had just heard had been an illusion.

Feeling surprised, Wang Lili looked around again, and, sure enough, there was no one there. She shook her head and returned to her room with the file bag, slowly opening it.

Inside the file bag were a bunch of photos. Wang Lili took them out, and with just one glance, her expression drastically changed.

The photos were of none other than Wang Lili herself. In these photos, she wore no clothes, restrained by various men. These photos captured the events that had unfolded on Hongfei Road over the past few days. Each picture was crystal clear, each one triggering her nightmare-like memories.

Looking at those photos, Wang Lili was on the verge of collapse. She thought that by coming back, she could escape those events. But she never anticipated that these photos would drag her back into a dark abyss.

As she flipped through the photos, a slip of paper fell to the floor among them. Wang Lili picked it up and upon reading the words, felt as though she had been struck by lightning.

”If you stay alive, these photos will be sent around the world. If you die, your family won’t have to be shamed by you.”

Those two short lines were enough to drive a young girl to despair.

As she looked at the photos, tears silently streamed down Wang Lili’s face. Just a young girl who had recently left the countryside, her conservative upbringing had brought her near to breaking point. The appearance of these photos only heightened her despair. The words on the paper, like a death knell, gradually solidified the suicidal thoughts she had been harboring these past few days.

After nearly an hour of silence, Wang Lili put all the photos back into the file bag. She walked slowly to the bed where her mother was sleeping soundly, tearfully tucked her in, and then stepped back and knelt beside the bed, bowing three times respectfully and devoutly to her mother.

”Mom, I’m sorry, I can’t take care of you anymore.”

That short sentence seemed to exhaust all her strength. She picked up the file bag and left the hospital room, taking three steps back for each step forward, making her way unsteadily to the roof.

Hidden in a wind-shielded corner of the roof, she set the file bag on fire, watching it slowly burn to ashes, her expression growing more resolute. She walked slowly to the edge of the building, looking down from the sixth floor, her mind clearly foggy.

”Brother, you said we would live well, find good jobs, make lots of money, have a good life.” She chuckled bitterly and said, ”Brother, I know you will succeed. But I’m sorry, I can’t wait for you anymore.”

She slowly closed her eyes, tears streaming silently down her cheeks. She took a step forward, whispering, ”Brother, if there’s a next life, can we not live so hard?”

The sixteen-year-old girl, like a shadow in the night, fell from the top of the sixth floor. The huge impact broke branches of a large tree beneath her. Her frail body hit the ground, a dark red pool of blood slowly spreading out under the dim moonlight, like a chilling blossom!

”Someone jumped off the building!”

After a while, a panicked scream finally rang out.

In a distant corner, a man of average build, watching Wang Lili lying in a pool of blood, slowly turned around and walked out of the hospital, heading to a deserted area where he pulled out his phone to make a call.

”It’s done.” He said just these five words, then hung up and walked into a dark alley across the street.

Simultaneously, in a well-known beauty parlor within the city, Young Master Fang’s mother, Luo Caiyun, put down her phone, got up, dressed, and walked out of the beauty parlor.

A car was waiting for her downstairs. Luo Caiyun got into the car, and the driver spoke softly, ”Young Master Fang and Young Master Ding are at Qingyu Pavilion.”

”Go find him.” Luo Caiyun uttered these three words and leaned back in the seat, her eyes flashing with a chilling and sinister gleam.

Qingyu Pavilion was Shenchuan City’s most famous private club, owned by the Tianqing Gang, and a favorite haunt for the city’s wealthy elite.

Located behind a villa district in the North Suburb, Qingyu Pavilion spanned around two hundred hectares, was fully equipped, and represented a flagship venue of the Tianqing Gang.

Luo Caiyun was also a regular at Qingyu Pavilion. The car easily entered the underground parking lot at the entrance.

Standing in this underground parking lot, one could feel how this famous private club in Shenchuan City lived up to its reputation. The basement was filled with million-dollar luxury cars, some of which were rarely seen on the streets, and Luo Caiyun’s BMW hardly stood out among them.

Luo Caiyun got out of the car, went directly upstairs, and with the reception of a waitress, hurried to a luxurious private room on the fifth floor.

The private room was filled with clamor. Hearing the noisy clamor, Luo Caiyun sighed softly, feeling a sense of dissatisfaction as if hating that iron could not become steel.

Luo Caiyun did not push the door open directly but glanced at the driver beside her. The driver understood, reached out, pushed open the door, and walked inside.

Luo Caiyun stood at the doorway, only hearing a few angry curses from inside, as it seemed these reckless youths were quite dissatisfied with someone suddenly breaking in. However, soon Young Master Fang’s voice came through: ”Stop shouting, stop shouting, this is my mother’s driver.”

The clamor inside stopped finally, followed by a series of noisy sounds; about three minutes later, the driver came out and nodded towards Luo Caiyun at the door.

Only then did Luo Caiyun enter the room, which had about fifteen people in total. There were more women than men, generally two girls accompanying one guy.

Each of the few men were actually just young men in their early twenties. Young Master Fang was among them, and another was Ding Shaoyan, who had been injured by Ye Qing last time at the North Huanqian Bay Bar. Indeed, birds of a feather flock together, these people really could mix well.

Seeing Luo Caiyun, Young Master Fang looked somewhat embarrassed, and the other young men also lowered their heads, pretending to be very quiet. However, seeing the girls’ disheveled appearance, Luo Caiyun could largely guess what had happened in the room. She had let the driver go in first precisely to avoid seeing things she shouldn’t and to prevent the situation from becoming awkward.

”Mom, what’s wrong?” Young Master Fang disentangled himself from the two girls and walked to Luo Caiyun, saying awkwardly, ”I’m just having a gathering with some classmates. If you need something, couldn’t you have just called me?”

Luo Caiyun glared at him and said, ”Xiao Ding, could you ask your girlfriends to step out for a moment?”

Understanding Luo Caiyun’s implication, Ding Shaoyan immediately turned and called for the girls to leave. Only the five reckless youths and Luo Caiyun remained in the room.

Luo Caiyun glanced at the driver, who immediately turned and exited, closing the door behind him.

The five inside, including Young Master Fang and Ding Shaoyan, were greatly surprised, unsure of what Luo Caiyun intended. But since Luo Caiyun was an elder, the five of them didn’t dare to be too presumptuous and just stood there nervously.

”Sit.” Luo Caiyun took a seat on the sofa edge first and gestured for the five to sit.

Ding Shaoyan and the others sat beside her. Young Master Fang glanced at his few buddies and said, ”Mom, what’s really the matter. Can’t we talk about it when we get back? Tonight we’re having a class reunion, and I…”

”Shut up!” Luo Caiyun snapped coldly, startling Young Master Fang. Usually at home, it was his father Fang Cailiang who would rage at him, his mother seldom did. But when his mother did get angry, he couldn’t help but be scared.

Luo Caiyun swept a cold glance at Ding Shaoyan and the others and said, ”Xiao Ding, you and the others are all friends of my son. In a way, I am your elder as well. There are a few words, I don’t know if I should say them!”

”Auntie, please just say whatever you need to say!” Ding Shaoyan said respectfully, though he was very dissatisfied with Luo Caiyun in his heart.

”Since you call me auntie, I will just take the liberty of being old,” Luo Caiyun turned to Young Master Fang, her voice stern, ”Who all were involved in the incident four days ago?”

At these words, the five’s expressions changed, and Ding Shaoyan and the others all looked at Young Master Fang. Swallowing hard, he said, ”Mom, what… what incident?”

”You still want to lie to me at this point?” Luo Caiyun glared and said, ”Ye Qing encountered that girl on Hongfei Road this afternoon, injured Da Hong, and took the girl back. Then, he sent his men to find Jia Zhengze. You guys probably don’t know about this yet!”

The five’s expressions changed again, and under their mutual glances, even Young Master Fang couldn’t say anything.

”You five really have some nerve!” Luo Caiyun gritted her teeth, ”Do you think you can deceive everyone with what you’ve done? Ye Qing is no fool. He can even catch the international thief He Ziqiang; how could your little tricks escape his eyes?”

”So what if we can’t escape, are we supposed to be afraid of him?” Young Master Fang retorted stiffly.

Luo Caiyun angrily said, ”If you’re not afraid of him, then go find him yourself now, and tell him this was all your plan!”

Young Master Fang immediately lost spirit, while Ding Shaoyan hastily said, ”Xiao Fang, how can you talk to your aunt like this? Auntie is also doing this for your own good!”

Young Master Fang hung his head and murmured, ”Mom, isn’t Ye Qing too arrogant? Look at what he’s done since he came to Shenchuan City. I didn’t provoke him, yet he beat me like this. And the others, like Shao Yan, they didn’t offend Ye Qing either but still got beaten. Shouldn’t we take revenge for this? I just can’t swallow this humiliation.

He’s so poor he can barely afford a meal; why should he be allowed to beat us!”

Luo Caiyun glared and said, ”If you want revenge, go directly after Ye Qing. Why do you attack a girl and a paralyzed man?”

Young Master Fang and the others’ faces were extremely awkward; indeed, they wanted to seek revenge on Ye Qing. However, they simply didn’t have the means, so they turned instead on those close to Ye Qing.
